Chapter 433 Meeting
Chapter 433 Meeting
"Damn! Yuan, I can't believe you have such an excellent cook by your side! "I am very envious of you!" Daniel sighed as he finished his breakfast and addressed Yuan.
Yuan gave Anna a short glance and chuckled. "I suppose I'm lucky. But I have to admit, Anna is an outstanding cook; everything she cooks is just fantastic!" Yuan said, admiring his mother's culinary abilities.
"I wish I could find such a good woman...but it is pretty much impossible." Daniel sighed as he remembered that he was already engaged to someone.
"Well, you're the Crown Prince of the Lionheart Empire; undoubtedly there are many women who want to be with you," Yuan responded with a chuckle.
"You don't understand at all, Yuan," Daniel grumbled, adding, "Most women want to be close to me since I'm the Crown Prince of the Lionheart Empire. Getting close to me will make them wealthy, and they may use my position as Crown Prince to further their own agendas."
"Moreover, the majority of the women came from noble families, and they were simply organized by their families to get near to me so they could take advantage of me."
"Being a Crown Prince is exhausting, and I had to be careful about many things..." He sighed as he finished his sentence.
Then he glanced towards the black sky and murmured, "I hope I can find a good woman who loves and cares for me... I am still hopeful that I will discover such a woman."
"Why look for good women when you are already engaged to the Second Princess of the Kingdom of Mora?" Valeria, who had been silently listening to her nephew's statements, suddenly rolled her eyes and spoke.
She smiled and remarked, "I wonder what Princess Luna will do to you after hearing what you just said…"
When Daniel heard the word 'Princess Luna,' his face grew pale and he began to sweat excessively.
'Damn it! If Luna finds out, she will hack me into thousands of pieces! I hope my aunt does not tell anyone about this!' Daniel cried inside, frustrated.
Just picturing Princess Luna's frigid expression gave him a heart attack, and his entire body began to shiver in panic.
"A-Aunt Valeria, please do not tell anyone about this, especially Luna! "Or I'd be doomed!" Daniel pleaded with his aunt not to inform him about what he said to Princess Luna.
"Hahaha~! I had no idea that the Mighty Crown Prince of the Lionheart Empire was terrified of women. This is hilarious." Yuan laughed violently, clutching his stomach.
"Heh! I find that extremely pitiful; how could a powerful man feel fearful of a woman? If he is terrified, he is not a real guy." General Valeria snorted and spoke in a serious tone, with murderous intent clearly visible in her eyes.
"This is..." Daniel was taken aback by his aunt's statements and felt deeply ashamed in front of Yuan and his wives.
He couldn't believe his aunt thought of him as a sad individual with no true strength; it hit him like a sharp stab to the heart.
'Damn it! I can't believe my only aunt has such negative feelings about me. Damn it all! Luna is to blame for everything!' Daniel screamed inside, directing all of his rage at his fiancée, whom he blamed for his current circumstances.
"Well, I hope you get along with this 'Princess Luna'; after all, you two will marry in the future," Yuan added, wondering what this 'Luna' did to Daniel to make him detest her so much.
"That is impossible. Luna is like a ferocious kitten; she always wants things to go her way, has a big ego, and always picks a battle with me when she sees me." Daniel sighed deeply; he had almost forgotten how many times she argued with her about trivial matters.
And when he reflected on those memories, he couldn't help but involuntarily smile. He seems to adore her and enjoys talking about her, but he doesn't dare to confess it.
'It appears that despite his animosity for this 'Princess Luna' from the Kingdom of Mora, he still holds her dear in his heart.' Yuan pondered, smiling.
"Well, since you've already filled your stomach, go back to your tent, and if King Richard and the representatives from the other nations make any critical new decisions, please keep me informed." General Valeria spoke to her nephew a bit later.
"Aren't you going to attend the meeting?" He inquired with a bewildered expression on his face, unsure what his aunt was thinking.
Even though she was the emperor's older sister, she had to show respect to the king; even if the Windfall Kingdom was not one of the Empire's greatest countries, it was still a kingdom.
Declining to attend the meeting, which will include representatives from all other nations, will be insulting to the king and everyone else in attendance.
"No, I don't plan to attend something so boring; I'd rather stay here and enjoy my dear's company." She then went to Yuan and asked, "Do you agree, my dear?"
The Crown Prince When Daniel heard his vicious aunt talking to Yuan in such a loving way—it didn't appear real at all—his face contorted instantly. He couldn't believe it.
'It is almost incomprehensible that this is the same vicious woman who is dreaded by many in the empire.' Daniel's expression was one of apparent disbelief as he turned to face his aunt.
"Naturally," Yuan replied, nodding and smiling. "I'm also not interested in attending such meetings since I find them uninteresting, and I have a limited knowledge of the miasma."
"Oh! Why am I not surprised you're already aware of the miasma?" General Valeria chuckled.
'This is impossible! How could he have known about the miasma when Miss Isadora was still researching it?!' Daniel could not believe what he was hearing and looked at Yuan in astonishment.
However, he didn't want to ask about it since he was convinced that even if he did, Yuan would not tell him, so he questioned, "Yuan, are you really not going to attend the meeting?"
"Nah, I'd rather spend my time with my women than attend a dull meeting with old folks." Yuan shook his head and gave a short smile.
"I see…In that case, I will leave now. The meeting will start in about an hour, so I'd better not be late."
After hearing Yuan's statement, he groaned and walked towards his tent.
Crown Prince Daniel proceeded directly to his meeting spot, where many people were gathered in one place, waiting for the meeting to begin, and the air was thick with expectation.
A few minutes later, The King and representatives from various nations came on the scene, including The Holy Son of the Holy Light Empire—Aurther.
Aurther had an unpleasant expression on his face as he approached the seat reserved for him, and the Holy Knights that accompanied him followed closely behind.
"It appears that Crown Prince Daniel has been waiting for us; apologies for keeping you waiting," Aurther said to Daniel in a pompous tone before taking his seat next to Archmage Eldrick.
When Daniel heard this, his face twisted in annoyance, and he glanced at Aurther coldly, saying, "Don't worry, Holy Son; I'm not a person who gets furious over such a trivial thing."
'This bastard! Hmph!' Aurther snorted inside and glanced away.
King Richard stepped up from his seat, smiled, and noted that Yuan and his wives were not in the crowd, nor could he find General Valeria.
'Strange. Why isn't General Valeria here? Yuan and his spouses will also not be attending the conference.' King Richard was astonished that Yuan and his wives did not attend such an important gathering.
'I wonder what they're up to today, given how unpredictable they can be at times.' King Richard sighed heavily as he pondered.
A few seconds later, he turned to Archmage Isadora and inquired about her studies on the miasma. "Have you found anything useful?"
When Archmage Isadora heard this, she took a long breath and answered, "Well, the research didn't go well, but I discovered some helpful information concerning the miasma; I'm sincerely ashamed of my failure."
"It's okay. We don't blame you for not having the appropriate equipment to conduct a proper investigation on the miasma." King Richard smiled, knowing that performing real research on the miasma in this situation would be difficult.
Archmage Isadora sighed with relief. "Thank you, Your Majesty."
"So, Archmage Isadora, what did you learn about the miasma that is obstructing our path?" Daniel inquired, wondering what kind of discovery Archmage Isadora had made and how it would assist them in traversing the miasma.
"As you might expect, I uncovered a few things about the miasma that surrounds this portion of the forest." She smiled and nodded.
And she went on, "I've learned that this miasma is somehow related to the corrupted beasts we discovered outside this forest; we found the same miasma in their corpses."
"Moreover, the miasma is extremely harmful; even if someone inhales a small quantity of it, they will become corrupted. However, I've discovered that magical monsters are immune to the miasma and can feel their way about."
"What?!" Everyone, even King Richard, practically shouted in shock and disbelief.
