Chapter 37
Chapter 37: Catching Spies
Half an hour later, they were all in the orthopedics department of the hospital.
“Young man, based on my thirty years of experience as a doctor, I am able to tell that this arm of yours was not dislocated normally. It was instead dislocated using professional grappling techniques,” said the physician solemnly.
A physician from the orthopedics department was treating Smith.
“Hehe!”
The corner of Smith’s mouth twitched twice. He looked up at the ceiling with a hopeless expression.
Ophelia stood beside Smith. She had a weird expression on her face.
Barrett stood behind the two of them. His face was red, and he wanted to laugh. However, he did not dare to. He felt uncomfortable trying to hold in his laughter.
Barrett admired what Smith did earlier.
Moments earlier, Smith rushed into the office in a hurry.
Barrett then heard Smith screaming followed by him shouting, “It’s broken, it’s broken!”
When Barrett and the others went into Smith’s office, they saw Smith lying on the sofa. His left arm was twisted behind his back.
The attending physician treated Smith’s arm and gave him some medicine.
After all, a dislocation was not a big deal. He just needed to apply some medicine on it and avoid using any strength for the next few days. He will then be fine in two days’ time.
On the way back, Smith felt hopeless.
“Serves you right. Who asked you to pounce on me without explaining yourself first…” whispered Ophelia.
Ophelia leaned on Smith’s right arm. Her face was red.
“Hehe!”
The corner of Smith’s eyes twitched, but he did not say anything.
After a while, Smith used his right hand to turn on his phone.
He wanted to find the person on the internet who said that he had gotten a girlfriend.
After searching for a long time, he finally found him.
However, this time, it was not an answer, but a tweet.
“Yesterday, a man who cheated on his girlfriend tried to get her forgiveness. In the end, his medical school girlfriend tied him to the bed and stabbed him 36 times.
“An autopsy was done. Although the man had been stabbed 36 times, it was only considered as a minor injury.”
After reading the news, Smith was completely dumbfounded.
He was too naive. How could he believe something so easily on the internet?
However, it seemed like he did not have to thank the user personally for what had happened to him. His girlfriend had already done it for him.
“Don’t be angry. If worse comes to worst, I’ll come by your house tonight,” Ophelia whispered into Smith’s ear.
Ophelia was a little worried that Smith was angry as he had been quiet for a while.
“Really?” asked Smith. His eyes lit up.
“No, all I can think about is sex,” said Ophelia unhappily.
“Hehe.”
Smith smiled in satisfaction.
His arm was not dislocated in vain. At least the two of them made up.
This put an end to the previous incident. Smith was going to live a happy life.
At night, after dinner, Smith told Ophelia that he was tired.
Ophelia rolled her eyes and ignored him.
She waited until it was 10 pm and went to take a shower.
After that, Smith enjoyed the professional skills that all female spies should have. This time, he was lying on the window. He enjoyed himself.
At noon the next day, Smith arrived at the company. He walked unsteadily.
“When my arm recovers, I must start exercising.”
Smith had made up his mind. He was afraid that he would die if he continued with his lifestyle.
“Boss, this is the company’s recruitment application. What do you think?”
Smith had just arrived at the company with Ophelia when Eve came into his office with a report.
“Recruitment application? Are you sure?”
Smith was a little confused.
Although his company needed recruits, the timing seemed off.
“That’s right, boss. Our leader wants to catch a few spies through the recruitment.”
Eve saw Smith’s expression changed. She knew what Smith was thinking.
Therefore, she just told him the investigator’s intention for recruitment.
That is right. The recruitment was real.
However, the real intention was to use the recruitment to look for spies from other countries.
“Alright, catching spies is fine, but please don’t let it affect the company’s operations.”
“Boss, don’t worry. Those who are spies are all elites.”
“Alright, there’s nothing wrong with that.”
After Smith’s approval, a message was posted on the Super Power Company’s official website.
As expected, in a short duration of time, many people started to send in their resumes.
The verification of the resumes was left completely to the investigators. Smith felt happy and relaxed.
The next day, when Smith arrived at the company, a group of candidates was being interviewed in the personnel office.
“What’s the situation now? Which one of them are spies?”
Smith took a look at the interview room. He then returned to his office to ask Ophelia about the situation.
“I’m not too sure at the moment, but I heard that there are spies from different countries in this group of candidates,” said Ophelia in a serious tone.
“So many of them are spies. It’s so scary.”
“Oh right, do you know what to do next?”
“Catch them all and interrogate them, or fish them up?” asked Smith curiously.
“Don’t you know what to do next?” asked Ophelia.
She then looked at Smith.
“How should I know?”
Smith was confused. He never interrogated spies before. How would he know what to do next?
“Take them to the toilet, and then wait for them to explain themselves,” said Ophelia.
She then stared at Smith.
Ophelia still remembered that the toilet had the repentant attribute.
Smith thought to himself, “Could she be holding a grudge?”
He did not dare to say it out loud.
