Chapter 32
Chapter 32: Ophelia
Smith put on a formal suit and arrived at the hotel at noon.
He parked his car and went to Villa Number 8.
“Smith is here. It seems like Ophelia’s charm is still quite strong.”
When Smith entered, everyone laughed when they saw him.
Previously, there was a class gathering that he was invited to, but he did not go.
This was because Smith was busy looking for projects at that time. He had just obtained the system and was thinking of ways to earn money.
In the end, karma hit back.
“That’s right, I’m here to see Ophelia. Why would I come here to see you people?” said Smith with a smile.
“Ophelia is inside. You can go in if you have the ability,” said the class monitor.
Smith completely ignored the other party’s mockery. He then found a place to sit down.
After that, everyone started to play around whilst waiting for the others to arrive.
Those who attended the party were all students from the local or neighboring cities. It was impossible for students from other provinces to go to the gathering.
There were not many people there. There were only about thirteen or fourteen people at the gathering.
Soon, everyone arrived.
During this time, Smith finally met Ophelia.
It had been more than two years, but Ophelia was still as beautiful as before. No, she was actually even more beautiful than before.
After studying abroad, she seemed to have become more elegant and graceful. Her speech and behavior were similar to an urban beauty.
After Ophelia sat down, she greeted everyone.
“Smith, I did not expect you to become a rich man. Your clothes do not look cheap,” said Ophelia with a smile whilst looking at Smith.
“Low-key, low-key,” said Smith. Smith was hinting at her not to expose him.
Soon, the dishes were served. Everyone chatted while eating.
At first, Smith thought that some rich man had organized the party to impress Ophelia.
After chatting with everyone for a while, he found out that the class actually wanted to eat at an ordinary restaurant. Ophelia was the one who decided to upgrade the venue. She paid for the venue and treated everyone to a good meal.
Everyone chatted happily whilst eating.
They had just graduated from college two years ago, and no one was being snobbish.
The overall atmosphere was good.
When the others asked Smith what he was doing, he just said that he was working on a project.
No one took it to heart. The project was divided into many parts after all. Everyone thought that Smith had taken on a small project.
Everyone complimented Smith for being the boss.
After dinner, someone suggested that they should go for a karaoke session at the KTV.
“Ophelia, take my car,” said a classmate from a relatively rich family. He drove a Porsche.
“No need. You can take the other classmates first. We girls will go together later.”
Ophelia refused him politely.
The classmate did not continue pestering her. He did not have any melodramatic plot in mind. Everyone got into the car and headed over to the KTV.
Soon, there were only three people left, including Smith and Ophelia.
“Smith, you don’t look like someone who doesn’t have a car,” teased Ophelia whilst tilting her head.
“Alright, I’ll go get the car.”
When Ophelia’s best friend saw Smith driving his Bentley, she was completely stunned.
“Rich Chen, you really hide your true colors,” said Ophelia after she got into the car.
“I just wanted to keep a low profile. I didn’t expect you to see right through me,” said Smith. He had on a defeated expression.
“Tell me, Rich Chen, what project are you working on now?” asked Ophelia.
“It’s just a small project to build a new district,” said Smith calmly.
“Building a new district is a small project? Rich Chen, what are you pulling here?” said Ophelia. She was surprised.
“No, it’s really a small project. Let’s not talk about me. How have you been these last two years?”
“I’ve been studying every day.”
During the drive, the two of them chatted and talked about their experiences for the past two years.
When Smith pulled up at the KTV’s entrance, his classmates were all dumbfounded when they saw the car that Smith was driving.
At the KTV, Ophelia kept on chatting with Smith. The other classmates did not disturb them.
Those who were interested in Ophelia also gave up at that point.
There was simply no way to chase her. Smith was ahead of them by too much.
They drove a Civic whilst Smith drove a Bentley. They could not be compared to Smith.
Nevertheless, they did not let him off. He can have Ophelia. However, they kept pouring him wine.
Even if Smith could hold his liquor, he was drunk by the end of it.
Ophelia kept telling Smith about how good her graduation project was.
However, the construction cost was too high and too difficult. She might not be able to build it in her lifetime.
“Don’t worry. I’ll build all the buildings that you want,” said Smith.
“Really?” asked Ophelia. She was surprised.
“Of course.”
“But I don’t have any engineering experience. I’m afraid that there will be problems if I build these buildings. I’d better work in a construction company for a while to get some experience first,” said Ophelia whilst shaking her head.
“Whatever you think is best for you. When you want to build those buildings in the future, you can just look for me,” said Smith indifferently whilst nodding.
“Oh right, aren’t you building a new district? How about it? As a Harvard graduate, can I ask the boss to give me a bite to eat and let me go to your company to mingle around and broaden my horizons?”
Ophelia pretended to ask Smith casually.
“What? You want to work in my company?” asked Smith.
He was surprised when he heard Ophelia wanted to work for him.
“Yeah. Why? Do you not like me because I’m not professional enough?”
Ophelia wrinkled her nose, clenched her small fists, and gestured at Smith.
“How could I not like you? I’ll be more than happy to have you,” said Smith with a smile.
“That’s more like it,” said Ophelia. She raised her head proudly.
After karaoke, Smith asked Barrett to send Ophelia home first. He can then send him home after.
When Ophelia got out of the car, Smith suddenly sobered up.
