Chapter 99: Dark Knight
Chapter 99: Dark Knight
Despite Catwoman's incredible speed, the surveillance satellites still captured the moment she sent Faora flying.
Seeing that even the Kryptonians, who had been unfazed by missiles, were knocked down by the suddenly appearing woman, the general asked the soldiers around him, "Who is this woman?"
Trained soldiers quickly identified Catwoman based on her appearance and reported, "Sir, she is Catwoman, a morally ambiguous superhuman who recently emerged in Gotham. However, her data shows that aside from her cat-like agility, her strength was not much greater than that of an average human. We don't know why she has become so powerful now."
"Suddenly become this powerful?" the general muttered, then focused his gaze on the man who was walking step by step toward another Kryptonian. "Could it be him?"
The soldier's next words confirmed his suspicion: "Sir, we haven't found any data on that man, not even similar records. It's as if he... isn't human."
---
Clark was fighting against the Kryptonians.
He had never encountered enemies with a physique similar to his own before; his battles had always relied on overwhelming numerical superiority. This lack of experience meant he had to rely on instinctive, clumsy fighting.
At this moment, the poor Clark found himself besieged by two Kryptonians, who ruthlessly targeted his weaknesses.
The unfortunate young Clark was hit multiple times, perhaps because the male Kryptonian felt jealous of his larger physique and kept attacking his weak points.
After numerous blows, even from outside his armor, it was clear that Clark was genuinely swollen!
However, perhaps seeing the incredible young Clark, Faora instinctively squeezed her legs together, even weakening her attacks. She is young, and if it weren't for her intelligence, she might have been charmed and swayed by this handsome young man!
Just as Clark was being beaten, a figure suddenly appeared and sent Faora flying with a punch, moving even faster than she had.
Fiona was struck in the chest so hard that her already modest chest flattened into a valley, looking utterly pitiful. The depth of this valley was so profound that even the Kryptonian's rapid recovery couldn't restore it quickly.
She looked at the woman wrapped in two bombs joyfully dancing around and felt like she might explode with anger. Even her chest valley seemed to return to normal, growing larger, marking a qualitative breakthrough from nothing to something.
Jealousy welled up as she gazed at the human woman before her. Did those bombs weigh her down? Would she be a burden in battle?
Truly, she had no combat talent whatsoever.
With a fierce glare, she said to Catwoman, "It seems this planet does have powerful beings, at least you are one. But you're still too weak; you're no match for me!"
From their very first encounter, Faora realized that the Earth woman was also almost devoid of combat experience. While her speed and strength were perhaps even greater than Fiona's, she could still use her battle experience to secure victory.
In response to Fiona's taunts, Catwoman puffed out her chest and contemptuously glanced at Fiona's desolate chest. It was clear who was superior.
After a period of development with Alex, Catwoman's already formidable strength had reached terrifying levels; she was now a Justice League level individual.
"Is that all you've got?" Catwoman scoffed. After being enhanced by her boss, she felt incredibly confident!
"You bitch! I'll tear your mouth apart and chop your useless breasts to pieces!"
Faora immediately lost her composure; this had been her lifelong pain. Now that Catwoman had brought it up, she was filled with rage and charged at her.
However, upon contact, Faora was sent flying!
"Why is your physique so strong? Who are you?" Fiona exclaimed in disbelief.
Under the refined control of the six eyes and energy absorption, no symbiote could absorb the abilities within Alex's body. However, if he actively stored some abilities within the symbiote, it could use them.
But due to his overwhelming power, the symbiote could only handle a small amount of information and could store only a fraction of one skill. Yet, under Alex energy enhancement, the symbiote could temporarily unleash most of his power.
At that moment, the ability shared with Catwoman was LV5 energy absorption.
Even if the symbiote couldn't unleash all its LV5 power, it was more than enough to crush these newly arrived Kryptonians.
Surrounding energy was being absorbed by Catwoman, whether sunlight or shockwaves.
Faora's attacks caused her no harm, while her own power could easily break through Faora's defenses. Poor girl was outmatched in both physique and strength.
Meanwhile, Clark was still battling another Kryptonian warrior. Without Faora to back him up, the other Kryptonian gradually became no match for Clark.
In a moment of carelessness, Clark was punched away by the Kryptonian warrior, rolling along the ground and creating a long and deep trail before finally stopping right in front of Alex.
He quickly stood up and urged Alex, "Get out of here; it's dangerous!"
After saying that, he prepared to face the Kryptonian warrior's attack, but before he could counter, he noticed the warrior suddenly flew away, crashing through dozens of buildings and being buried under the rubble without a sound.
Clark quickly dodged to the side and turned to look behind him, immediately sensing something was wrong.
His x-ray vision couldn't penetrate the man before him, as if the man's body were made entirely of lead.
"Are you... human?" Clark asked uncertainly.
At some point, Alex's attire had changed into that of Batman, and in a deep tone, he addressed Superman, "You are the one who brought these Kryptonian invaders here!"
Faced with this sudden accusation, Superman fell silent. After all, what the man said was the truth: "Who are you?"
Under the effect of energy absorption, the sunlight around Alex dimmed, casting him in darkness, like a ghost of the night, absorbing the sunlight and stripping the Kryptonians of their power source.
He exuded an aura of mystery and authority, calm and restrained, like a cold-blooded bat—predator of the night.
His tone grew even deeper: "I am the Dark Knight who guards the world. I am Batman. Clark Kent, I know you; you are the one who brought the invaders here. I hope there won't be a next time!"
Clark stared in shock at the Batman before him. He knew Batman, a superhero active in Gotham, and held great respect for this hero, who adhered to a no-kill policy, as it was similar to his own philosophy.
However, in his understanding, Batman was merely a strong ordinary man, possibly possessing some high-tech gadgets, but he couldn't have the superhuman qualities of Superman!
Perhaps sensing Clark's thoughts, the man in the Batman costume spoke in a profound tone: "Your perspective is too narrow. There are many ways to gain power in this world. One such method involves a special Kryptonite known as platinum Kryptonite. It can transform ordinary people into Kryptonians. I merely utilized technological power; I drank a super-soldier serum with the power of a million stars, allowing me to wield the strength of a million stars!"
Clark was dumbfounded. The strength of Kryptonians came only from exposure to yellow sunlight, so how powerful would a person with the strength of a million stars be?
Ignoring Superman, Alex strode towards the struggling Kryptonian warrior: "Clark, I can help you clean up this mess this time, but I don't want to see a next time!"
As he finished speaking, Alex's body vanished from his spot, appearing in front of the Kryptonian warrior. His terrifying speed was beyond what even Clark could track.
Alex smiled at the Kryptonian warrior attempting to rise and suddenly stomped down.
Hundreds of meters of cracks spread rapidly from the Kryptonian warrior, with the ground sinking several meters around him. The warrior, attacked by Alex, felt his eyes nearly pop out, teetering on the edge of unconsciousness.
Alex was dissatisfied with the effect of his kick; he increased the power of his energy enhancement and stomped down again. The sounds of bones cracking and the ground shattering echoed relentlessly, and the Kryptonian warrior, who had been entangled with Clark, fell into unconsciousness, seemingly on the brink of death.
Alex nodded in satisfaction and pulled the Kryptonian warrior along as he slowly walked out. At that moment, Catwoman had just defeated Faora and was walking over to join Alex.
Seeing Alex, Catwoman was filled with excitement. She had suddenly fallen in love with this feeling of hitting someone hard. Of course, she knew who had given her this power, so she approached Alex and kissed his fake chin.
"Boss, how did I do?"
"Very well. I'll reward you when we get back."
Catwoman's face flushed slightly.
Finally, Alex glanced at Clark and left behind a comment before opening a portal and vanishing from the town.
Clark stared dumbfounded at the suddenly appearing portal and the two Kryptonian warriors who had been swiftly defeated.
"So this is the power of a million stars? Terrifying!"
The events in Smallville were broadcast live across the internet, and the brief repulsion of the Kryptonians made everyone cheer, especially the appearances of Batman and Catwoman, which attracted a massive fan following.
"Oh, Batman is so cool! I've never admired someone so much before."
"Yes, Catwoman has a great figure. Look how that alien woman is nearly going insane with jealousy."
"I never expected Batman to be so powerful; I always thought he was just an ordinary person."
"I thought so too, but the facts are right in front of us. We have to believe that Batman is the true god among men!"
On a tree-shaded hillside, a luxurious manor is enveloped by lush trees. This is the residence of Gotham's wealthiest, as well as Batman's home, Wayne Manor.
In the kitchen of the manor, Bruce Wayne holds a spoon, frozen in place. He has maintained this posture for several minutes.
The butler beside him is the same; both are staring blankly at the report on the television.
At this moment, Bruce Wayne can only think one thing: "You are Batman, so who am I?"
Alfred retracts his gaze, looking at Bruce with a strange expression. After a moment of hesitation, he uncertainly says, "Sir, I'm not an insider; you can tell me anything."
Bruce Wayne swallows hard, nearly choking on the food he's eating. He looks at his butler in disbelief and retorts, "Alfred, you know I've been in Gotham and haven't gone anywhere; that's not me—someone is impersonating me!"
