Chapter 17: Chapter 17: A Loser?
Chapter 17: A Loser?
Seeing this scene, Tony Stark subconsciously swallowed.
The footage in the reports wasn't AI-generated or fictional. The information recorded was actually true! And compared to reality, it was somewhat toned down
At least the reports didn't say that the White Mutant's power was so astonishing that he could send Iron Monger flying with a single punch!
As the designer of the Iron Man suit, Tony could roughly gauge Iron Monger's weight based on its size. To send Iron Monger flying with one punch was something even the Mark III couldn't do. This wasn't a power any human should possess!
Looking at the White Mutant's seemingly slender arm, Tony Stark felt his ignorance for the first time.
After sending Iron Monger flying with one punch, Alex flexed his hand. He hadn't expected his first attack to successfully use Black Flash.
This confirmed his theory: with the added ability of energy absorption, he had greater control over energy than Gojo Satoru. In the future, he might be able to achieve a 100% success rate with Black Flash.
This meant his attacks would always be 2.5 times stronger than their original power.
This was an incredibly terrifying boost.
Ignoring the stunned Tony Stark beside him, Alex slowly walked toward the road. He passed through the gap in the wall, following the path created by Iron Monger's body, and slowly approached the road.
As he got closer, Iron Monger clearly noticed his approach. Dense ammunition and missiles were fired at him, but they were all blocked by the Limitless Cursed Technique, unable to advance.
When he reached the side of the road, the onlookers had already realized what was happening and no longer approached. The road was now empty, with only Alex slowly walking and Iron Monger continuously firing.
Fearless onlookers hid at a distance, watching curiously. Some even took out their phones to record the scene.
When Alex slowly appeared, someone immediately recognized him.
"The White Haired Mutant! Why is he here?"
"Is he fighting that iron giant?"
"That steel monster was just sent flying by him. How did he do it?"
The crowd immediately burst into a series of questions.
Coincidentally, in a Chevrolet parked nearby, a middle-aged man's face was overflowing with excitement. He quickly took out professional filming equipment and started recording Alex.
Yes, this man was none other than the future Venom, Eddie Brock.
At this moment, Eddie Brock was extremely excited, continuously praising Lady Luck in his heart for allowing him to once again encounter the White Mutant in action!
The previous news had already made him a hot topic at the Daily Globe. If he could capture another battle scene of the White Mutant, he would likely get a promotion, a raise, and reach the peak of his career!
Through his camera, he watched as the White Mutant slowly approached the iron giant. The real show was about to begin!
Obadiah stared at the screen in shock as the system continuously issued warnings:
"Alert, alert, body damage 36%... body damage 36%!"
Just that single punch almost completely destroyed Iron Monger's chest armor. How was this possible?!
The metal used to assemble Iron Monger was ten centimeters thick titanium alloy. Such thick titanium alloy could withstand high-yield missiles without being penetrated, yet now it was almost destroyed by a single punch from a human. Was he really human?
Obadiah was filled with regret. The reports from the Daily Globe were indeed true.
Had he known this earlier, he would never have confronted the White Mutant, even if it meant promising a billion, even twenty billion dollars.
But it was too late now. He had no choice but to put all his efforts into killing the White Mutant.
The White Mutant's bizarre defensive ability couldn't possibly hold up. By keeping his distance and continuously using ammunition, he could definitely kill him!
As Obadiah prepared to put his plan into action, he suddenly realized that the White Mutant had disappeared from sight!
When the system alerted him again, he saw the White Mutant appear right in front of him, staring at him coldly with an icy gaze. His right hand was clenched, with an unknown azure energy radiating from it.
It was the same attack that had sent him flying earlier!
He desperately tried to dodge, but the distance was too close, and Iron Monger was too cumbersome to evade the White Demon's next strike!
If this attack hit, the chest armor of Iron Monger would shatter, and he, in the cockpit, would
not survive!
No! No! Don't!
He watched in despair as the fist approached, feeling as though he was staring at his ownn/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
death.
Under his desperate gaze, the fist radiating blue energy made contact with Iron Monger, sending it flying again.
However, unlike last time, there was no explosion of black lightning, and Iron Monger was
only knocked back a few meters before coming to a stop.
Obadiah immediately had Iron Monger get back up and checked the damage level.
"Alert, alert, body damage 38%... body damage 38%!"
That punch had only caused an additional 2% damage to the suit.
Realizing something, Obadiah burst into laughter,
"Hahaha, that terrifying black lightning from earlier isn't something you can use at will, is it? Maybe that initial attack consumed a lot of your energy, and now you can't use it again!"
Knowing that the White Mutant wasn't as invincible as he had feared, Obadiah's terror vanished. He continued to wildly shoot at Alex,
"Come on, let's see how long you can last under this barrage!"
Nearby, Tony Stark also walked over through the gap, having witnessed everything that had
just happened.
"Damn, the black lightning attack can't be used consecutively. If Obadiah keeps wearing him down, he might actually win."
Tony felt a growing sense of dread. His arc reactor was down to only 2% energy, not enough to sustain the Mark III in battle. If Obadiah won, Tony would be helpless and likely meet his
end.
"Damn it!"
The onlookers also saw what was happening. They watched as the White Mutant's punch only knocked the iron giant back slightly, without causing significant damage, and the giant
quickly got back up to continue shooting at the White Demon.
They quickly drew conclusions:
"The White Mutant can fight humans, but against technology, he's outmatched!"
"Right, that iron giant must be the work of the military. The military is taking on the White
Mutant, and he's about to be killed by it!"
Among the crowd, a small number of hidden mutants watched the scene with despair,
"Are mutants really no match for the government? Are we destined to be oppressed forever?"
Everyone thought the White Mutant was about to lose, but then something unexpected for
them happened...
