Chapter 13
C13 – Challenge
“Old Cao, did I see wrongly? My brother defeated Lu Hongkuo in one move?”
Xun Qinyou rubbed her eyes and asked in a daze.
“It’s true. Your brother defeated Lu Hongkuo in one move.” Yi Liang said excitedly.
Usually, Lu Hongkuo was arrogant and looked down on others. He often bullied the students with low talent and weak strength. Yi Liang had long disliked him.
Now that Lu Hongkuo was taught a lesson by Xun Zhonghou in front of everyone, Yi Liang was overjoyed.
“Xun Zhonghou, how did you advance to the Level 5 of the Vitality Stage?”
Wan Yong asked in a daze.
Xun Zhonghou only had a 1-star talent, so how could he advance to the Level 5 of the Vitality Stage in such a short period of time? This was too strange.
“I don’t know either.”
Xun Zhonghou shook his head.
It was difficult for him to find a perfect explanation and not expose the system. Therefore, he decided to play dumb.
“You don’t even know?”
Wan Yong was stunned.
“Ah!”
At this moment, another scream rang in everyone’s ears.
A figure wrapped in white light shot out from the Demon Quelling Tower and fell heavily to the ground.
“Zhen Quishui!”
Some students cried out in alarm.
Everyone looked over and saw that Zhen Quishui was in a very miserable state.
His clothes were ragged and his face was swollen like a pig’s head. There was blood on the corner of his mouth, as if he had been beaten up.
“Zhen Quishui, what’s wrong with you?” Wan Yong asked anxiously.
“There are Vicious Beasts at the Level 5 of the Vitality Stage in the Demon Quelling Tower.”
When Zhen Quishui said this, his eyelids rolled and he fainted.
“Xun Zhonghou should not be as simple as a Level 5 Vitality Stage cultivator, right?”
Everyone was suspicious.
Since there was a Vicious Beast at the Level 5 of the Vitality Stage in the Demon Quelling Tower, and Xun Zhonghou could stay inside for more than two hours, if he was only at the Level 5 of the Vitality Stage, he would not have come out of the Demon Quelling Tower unscathed.
Thinking of this, all the students looked at Xun Zhonghou with deep reverence.
“Mr. Wan, bring two injured students to treat them.”
Ling Xueming ordered and turned to look at Xun Zhonghou. He smiled slightly and said, “You follow me to the office.”
With that, he left the training field.
In the principal’s office.
Ling Xueming squinted his eyes and kept sizing up Xun Zhonghou, causing his scalp to turn numb.
“Principal, why are you looking for me?” Xun Zhonghou could not help but ask.
Ling Xueming retracted his gaze and chuckled. “Xun Zhonghou, you should know about the Three Great Ancient Martial Academy Challenge Competition, right?”
“I know.”
Xun Zhonghou nodded.
There were a total of three Ancient Martial Academies in Pinewatch City. Every year, they would hold a challenge for the first-year students.
This competition was to test the quality of the new students of each academy.
Apart from that, there was also a small rumor.
It was rumored that the principal of the three academies would make use of this opportunity to make a bet.
“In the past, we would send ten students to participate in the challenge, but this time, we only sent one, so I plan to let you participate.” Ling Xueming explained.
“Me?”
Xun Zhonghou raised his eyebrows and said, “You don’t want Ling Gao to participate?”
Ling Gao was the publicly acknowledged number one genius in the Third Ancient Martial Academy’s first year. The academy had already decided to let him participate, so why did they suddenly change the person?
“Ling Gao is not bad, but compared to Jia Yuan and Zhi Juan from the First Ancient Martial Academy, he is still lacking a bit. Even if he participates, he will still be at the bottom.” Ling Xueming said meaningfully.
The meaning behind his words was obvious. He was saying that Xun Zhonghou was stronger than Ling Gao.
“He is indeed worthy of being a Soul Gathering Stage expert. His eyes are very sharp!”
Xun Zhonghou sighed in his heart.
From the surface, he was at the Fifth Level 5 of the Vitality Stage, but because he had honed his bones, his true combat strength far exceeded his peers.
Ling Xueming saw this.
