Chapter 3950 Threat and Promise
Chapter 3950 Threat and Promise
Avros- Mist
"What happened? Why have you called so suddenly?" asked the half-elf as all but one spire gathered.
They usually gathered at the fortress, but today, they have gathered here. This is the third time; they have gathered here in over four decades.
First time, when they discovered it. The second time is for the initiation, and this is the third time.
Even for the impartation, they didn't come so close to it.
"The enemies," replied the handsome elf, shocking everyone.
The man who discovered it and the only one permitted to remain close to it.
He is a liaison between them and it.
"What about the enemies?" asked the Shark Beastman. "They are searching for it; it had discovered, four soul senses,"
"They are from members of Alkaz, Tor, and Belword," he replied, deepening the shock further.
"Together?" asked the crystal-skinned softly, and the handsome elf nodded.
It is troublesome if it had been a single organization, but there are three of them searching together, which makes it dangerous.
If they discovered, it. There is no way, they would let them live.
They will bring the forces and wipe this place from the face of the earth, including them.
"How did they find where to look? Didn't you say, even Prime wouldn't be able to discover it?" asked the half-elf old man with sweat running down his back.
"They haven't discovered it yet, but they are searching the area," replied the half-elf.
Hearing that, many felt relieved.
"It wants to start," said the elf suddenly, just when they were feeling relieved.
"Isn't that time, years away?" asked the crystal-skilled woman.
"It was, but it didn't want to take the risk. It is saying, the current preparations are enough for it to begin," said half-elf.
Everybody looked at each other.
They have thought about this scenario but didn't want it to come.
"How much time do we have?" asked the middle-aged woman.
"Nine hours," replied the handsome elf.
"What? This isn't enough to gather all my descendants," replied the half-elf.
"We need at least a few days," he said. Forceful with his tone.
"Ahhhhh!"
The words had only come out, when the surrounding mist moved, and the half-elf screamed loudly.
He fell on the floors and started to spasm while letting out mournful screams.
Everybody watched with horror as the gravity of the deal they had made seeped into their hearts.
They knew they had become its puppets. The realization, when came, had already become too late for them.
They have accepted the deal to bring their organization to its former glory.
It's not like, they didn't know what they were doing. They knew it well, but still accepted it, seeing the promise of strength and glory it had given them.
It would have been all fine. If it had worked as they had expected.
In a few years, it would have achieved what it had wanted, and it would have gained enough strength to face any pressure.
They would have slowly revealed their powerhouses and become a part of the orthodox.
Some would have had doubts and there would have been allegations, but they would have handled them.
Now, their enemies have come together.
They will not be able to handle the pressure they will bring. They wouldn't be able to resist them and once they find the proof, they will bring a hell on them.
"So, everyone agrees?" asked the handsome elf after seconds of silence.
Everyone nodded, including the old half-elf who was bleeding from all his orifices.
"Good, gather everyone here in the nine hours," instructed the handsome elf and walked into the mist.
They looked at the mist and the large silhouette, that they could barely see, before walking out.
They prepared for this, and now, they will use those preparations to disappear. They will be hunted, but with the strength they have, they will be able to hide.
They can come out in a few years, on different continents, wearing different identities.
They only hope it follows on its promise and lets them leave without harm.
…
Buzz!
My badge buzzed with a message.
I looked away from the fight, I had been watching and looked at the message.
Hun!
It surprised me so much, that I looked at it twice.
They are asking me to be present at mist world at nine.
I knew something was wrong when I saw the worry on the spires' faces. it is why, instead of directly going to my suite, I had come to the arena.
I thought for a while and connected to the other seeds. There are nine people with seeds around me.
A moment later, I nodded to nine seeds and saw all of them had received the same message as I did.
'Something massive had happened,' I thought. I am feeling it from the bottom of my heart.
I thought for a while before deciding to do something risky.
The function, I had never used it before and didn't want to use it, but seeing the thing that happened and the faces of the spire, I knew it was time to use it.
'Command: Form Net!'
I gave the seed the command, and immediately, an untraceable line of energy came out of the seed and connected to the seed closest to them.
That seed connected to the closest to them.
The strings begin to release the strings and begin to connect to each other. Within a second, over fifty seeds connected to each other.
More are happening as time passes.
Five and a half seconds passed, with a hundred and sixty-two seeds connecting with each other. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
All seconding the data toward me live, including from people currently in a meeting with the spires.
I listened to the meeting. The spires are having with their descendants and students. The more, I listened, the more, my expressions would change.
"Fuck!" I cursed audibly a few minutes later, drawing the attention of people around me.
I do not care. Something bad had happened and I need to get out of here.
