Chapter 193 – Updated Later
"Alright, let's go."
Three figures were crouching right next to the wall of the academy that bordered it from the outside. Every single one of them were carrying a backpack containing thick thermal blankets and tranquillizer pistol. These three people were Del, Anna, and Mira.
All of them were barely visible, mainly because of the snow camouflage that they wore and the intense darkness from the blackout caused by the blizzard. Temperature was minus on hundred, as expected.
What was worse? The cold blizzard that might have froze them to death if not for the heating spell that they knew because they could fly, or the darkness that made sure the only reliable thing that they had in their arsenal was their night vision goggles?
They begun climbing the fence that felt like holding something very cold. If some idiot sticked their tongue on it, there was no doubt that it would stick. They landed on a thick layer of snow.
"Let's just go straight into their room. Anna, you take point."
Anna led the way with her silenced AS VAL-LL on her shoulder. This AS VAL was equipped with rubber bullets that would only give major pain to the target instead of death. Still, there was a risk to that too. Well, just don't aim for the head.
There was no intention to go inside of the dorm. The plan was to use the window to extract Daniel since one of the boys was most likely to be awake than asleep in this cold weather. Del wouldn't want to risk it this time.
Anna could go to Aveline room, carry her outside, and be done with it. It was simpler because there was no one around in the girl's dorm in situation like this. If Daniel was still awake, then the plan would be to tranquillize him immediately.
First of all though, they needed to go to the second floor using some sort of method. The most reliable one for this one was to attach a hook to the rooftop and use it to scale the building.
"Vampir, do your thing."
Anna nodded. She headed alone to the girl's dorm. Mira prepared the equipment to scale the building. She threw a hook to the rooftop using a gas-pressure tool and attached it firmly. Del prepared the glass cutting tool.
The blizzard was loud enough to conceal any loud clanking noise, but not gunfire. Everyone was equipped with AS VAL to produce as little sound as possible. Anna crossed the large park that was covered in thick snow.
To think that she was able to pull this off alone was amazing, but it had to be remembered that Daniel and Aveline had different body size. Not that radically different, but it was enough to make a difference between two people carrying them and one people carrying them.
"Blackfox. This is Skyeye, your escort."
An F-15E was flying high above the sky. Its LANTIRN targeting pod served as the eyes for them in case someone approached them or a flying soldier decided to mess with them. It was equipped with a C-AMRAAM, an anti-personnel variant of the AIM-120 AMRAAM missile.
"Copy that Skyeye. Give me sitrep when something comes out, Blackfox out."
Del started climbing the rope upwards, towards the second floor. Del climbed towards the window and he grabbed his glass cutter. He started cutting the glass of the window to open it. Daniel was sleeping soundly, he wouldn't know what hit him.
Del opened the window and he climbed inside of the room. The sound dampening boots that he wore would make sure that no sound came out from each footsteps. He took a closer look at Daniel's face.
Del pulled the tranquillizer pistol from his holster. He fired the tranquillizer round right at Daniel's neck, putting him to submission. Del opened his backpack and started cable tying Daniel's on his hands and his feet.
He then grabbed the heaviest item from his backpack, the stretcher combined with the thermal blanket. It wasn't a normal silver blanket either, it was a self-heating blanket that would insulate up to the current temperature.
Even from the looks of it, Aveline was half of Daniel's weight so Anna would have to handle Aveline by herself while Del and Mira carried Daniel on the stretcher. Mira climbed to the room. The surrounding wall started to froze from being exposed to the element.
"Skyeye, this is Blackfox, how's the situation outside?"
"All clear."
Del started putting the white thermal blanket on Daniel, wrapping him up with the warmness. He then grabbed his folded stretcher from his backpack and put Daniel there while attaching some straps on his body. After making sure that Daniel wouldn't fall of the stretcher, it was time to bring him downstairs.
With the set of rope attached to the rooftop, Del carefully brought Daniel down with the help of Mira. The cold breeze didn't really help, even sweat would turn frozen and Del could swore that ice started forming on the lenses of his night vision goggles.
Carefully, the stretcher arrived at the bottom floor. Del and Mira rappeled downstairs and Mira closed the window. The hook was detached from the rooftop with a tool and there was no trace of them. Time to get out of the academy.
"Blackfox, this is Vampir. Target is secured. We'll meet at rendezvous point. Over."
"Copy that. Blackfox out."
Del tapped Mira's shoulder. Time to get out of there. Del and Mira climbed the wall after putting the stretcher down. The rendezvous point was located right next to the forest, after that, going to the cabin would be an easy way.
Del and Mira were medical volunteers, carrying a stretcher was their nature of work. They didn't run, but they were careful not to meet anyone during the kidnapping operation. They tried to be as clean as possible.
"Skyeye, this is Blackfox. We're heading for the east direction, is there any hostile? Over."
"There's no hostile in your direction. Proceed to rendezvous. Over"
"Alright, keep us updated."
"Roger that. Skyeye standing by."
They walked to the forest. Hopefully, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary. The likelihood of a tree falling to the ground was quite big. Still, it was the safest route, out of the influence of the military. It was the safest route if anything went wrong.
The ordinary street didn't have any movement difficulty, but the moment anyone noticed something strange, the whole law enforcement would come after him, including the whole security division. The covert operation would turn into a genocide.
Eventually, after some walking, Anna was waiting for them right below of a tree while carrying someone on her back which was none other than Aveline. Anna waved her hand, all of them were happy that it was easier than expected.
"Alright, let's get them to CC."
Through the forest and the treachrous mountain, they walked towards the command center in the middle of a situation which was comparable only to walking in the middle of a freezer, but worse. It was surprising that the weapon that they carried still worked. That was Russian engineering for you, designed for winter like that.
Still, it seemed that something was happening in the town right after kidnapping. The blizzard hadn't died down, but something was definitely happening. Just to be safe, it was time to run. Del and Mira ran while carrying the stretcher while Anna was running while carrying Aveline on her back.
They eventually arrived at CC. Del kicked the door with his feet, the lock was stuck due to the freezing temperature. All of them put the stretcher on the ground and the thermal blanket on the ground.
Mira closed the door from behind. The command center was way warmer than outside, even warmer than the cabin due to the battery used to store electricity alongside with the generator inside of the room.
It maintained the command center in comfortable enough temperature. Mission was a big success, no complication was happening. Time to report back to Skyeye about the success so he could leave the A.O.
"This is Blackfox. Mission is a large success. Skyeye, thanks for the help."
"Copy that Blackfox. This is Skyeye, RTB."
The F-15E would fly from the area of operation. It might be not much, but that thing was the best insurance in this operation. Without the F-15E, any failure would result in a certain death for three of them. Well, what was done was done.
Anna went to the table below the computer. That was the secret storage for Del's alcohol. Anna grabbed a whiskey and three shot glasses. She poured the whiskey into the shot glasses.
"We might not be old enough for alcohol, but event like this needs one." Anna gave the glasses to Del and Mira. "Cheers everyone!"
They lifted the glasses in the air in celebration. They drank the alcohol, their body felt a little bit warmer.. When the morning came, time to bring those two to the AFB and let Zastava did what he wanted to them.
