Modern Weapon Summoning System

Chapter 189 - Transporting The Kidnapped

Chapter 189 – Transporting The Kidnapped

"The heli is yours. I'm here to keep your belonging safe, and in case someone decided to snoop around."

A person brought the exact same helicopter that Del used back to the cabin. It was armed to its teeth with weaponry for some unknown reasons, although some of the weapons of its pylons were depleted. Morris was still on the A.O, apparently. As a result, they had to bring the kidnapped people to the base on their own.

Fulton service wasn't available either, mainly due to the lack of personnel in that base. It seemed that everyone was in some sort of major operation. Well, Daniel and Aveline were still asleep from the tranquilizer anyway.

"Alright, give me time to gear up," Del replied to the person.

Anna and Mira took a nap in the command center, still in their gear, albeit clean from snow due to the temperature. Del spent the morning negotiating a Fulton extraction but getting a helicopter instead. It was not a pain, but it was still not what he wanted previously.

Del entered the command center. "Alright girls, time to pack things up. We're going on a field trip for a while."

Mira and Anna woke up from the floor where they were sleeping. Del and Mira carried the stretcher while Anna carried Daniel on his back. They put the stretcher into the helicopter and cuffed Aveline to the chair of the helicopter. It should be all for now.

"Thanks for the heli man, appreciate it," Del said.

"No sweat, sorry for no fulton. We don't have too many personnel in the base right now."

"You're going to stick around?"

"Yeah, I'm here to guard your equipment."

"Thanks for the help. I'll take it from here."

The soldier gave Del the key for the helicopter. Without the key, the helicopter wouldn't start. Del entered the helicopter pilot seat, and the others were in the back of the helicopter. Del began the startup procedure, and the helicopter blades started spinning.

"This is Airline 141. Please wear your seatbelt as we take off from the ground," Del joked at the helicopter lifted up from the ground. He set the waypoint to the air force base. According to the helicopter, it would be around eight hours of flight.

Well, it was not like the view would be boring. There would be around 2,500 kilometers of distance to cover. 1,500 kilometers were from the distance from Sneggor to the southern coast, and the rest was from the southern coast to the AFB.

It just happened that there was a usable helicopter at Lullin that could be used by Del and Anna. The temperature was around minus 10 degrees, way warmer than last night, but still cold enough to freeze water.

Del brought a thermos filled with warm coffee. It could be shared with Anna and Mira to act as a warmer and help him to stay awake during the trip. It was not like Del had slept ever since the operation last night.

Del peeked behind Mira. It looked like she held tightly to her chair while putting the seatbelt on herself. Del wasn't even that tense when he learned to fly the helicopter. What made Mira that tense?

"Mira, are you ok?" Del asked as he peeked behind.

"I'm fine. I'm fine, really." She shivered.

"Are you sure? You sure as hell don't look fine from here? Don't tell me you are scared to fly," Del said.

"No. No. I am not scared."

Del tilted the helicopter by 90 degrees to the left. Anna was sitting on the right door of the helicopter, and she was strapped to the helicopter. Suddenly, a deafening scream could be heard from the backseat. Yup, it was Mira.

"You sure?" Del leveled the helicopter again.

"You asshole, of course I'm scared. I don't have your flying magic spell, what if this thing suddenly crash? This ain't a plane," Mira said.

Del just gave a small laugh while Anna was satisfied by that loud scream. Del might be able to do that again. The stretcher was safe, and Aveline was no better than carrying a living corpse.

"Mira, I thought you were a hardened merc," Anna giggled.

"You two are just something, you know? If people know this, I'm sure they will change, out of respect or out of fear. Two people that appeared quite innocent but able to do some major illegal activity without anyone noticing."

"Don't act as if you're sinless, Mira."

The helicopter continued the flight. Del might need to forge a sick letter in case they arrived at the AFB very late. It was not like Del flew the helicopter at its maximum speed. He maintained the rate of 150 knots just to be safe.

It was like what, 300 km/h? It would take around eight hours to arrive at the military base. Well, time to enjoy the ride then. Del maintained high altitude to avoid bad weather or anyone that wanted to shoot them down from the sky.

=============

Eight hours later…

"Boredness is one thing, but this is another. It's been four hours and all I can see is sea and sea. Is there anything else?" Mira started complaining as the air sickness went away and significantly reduced that before.

"I hope that there is nothing else." Anna was eating her lunch, an MRE package kept in the helicopter.

Del was also eating his lunch after he put the helicopter on autopilot. "Yeah, the less thing in the sky, the better. And Mira, why don't you eat?" Del asked.

"Thank you, I'm not that hungry."

"Really? After you puked seven times on the sky? You're not hungry?" Del challenged that question.

"Yeah, I'm not hungry at all. I still feel nauseous and my stomach isn't exactly on the best terms with me," Mira commented.

It was only 100 kilometers to go, and they would arrive at the air force base. Del felt his butt had gone very stiff from the continuous sitting on the chair with very little to no cushion. He couldn't imagine how painful it must have been for Mira and Anna on the back.

Suddenly, the cuff next to Aveline was rattling. She seemed to be awake now. Well, time to wake her up anyway. They were very close to the air force base. Mira prepared her pistol in advance, in case something went wrong.

"Wakey wakey young miss, you've been kidnapped." Mira was aiming her pistol at her.

Del really wanted to slap her right now, what kind of introduction was that? Or was it the culture when she was still working with the militants, aiming pistol at the person that you just kidnapped?

The half awake Aveline immediately awoke with her eyes looking at the gun aimed at her body. And Mira was no better, she only gave Aveline an unexplainable smile. Anna went to the chair of the helicopter to check on Daniel, in case he woke up as well.

"Mira? What the hell? Anna? What is this?" She looked at both of them, who were holding weapons, albeit Anna was holding her AK-74M. Anna only sighed as he checked on Daniel, she felt that she had no responsibility to answer that.

Mira just put her finger in front of her mouth. She tried to shush Aveline to be quiet, but it went horribly wrong. Instead of quiet, she got was a hysterical scream.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHY ARE YOU POINTING THE GUN AT ME? WHAT DO YOU WANT?" Aveline shouted as he screamed. Del was lucky she wore the thick pilot helmet that pretty much silenced that screaming, but poor Anna.

"Make her shut up, or I'll shut her up," Anna aimed her rifle at Aveline.

The scream just got louder significantly. It practically became headache at this point, maybe a little bit too much for Mira. Mira grabbed her tranquillizer pistol and shot it at Aveline's neck.

The scream died down, and Aveline slowly drifted to sleep again. Mira put her tranquillizer pistol back at the holster. "On second thought, I prefer them to be asleep." She said that while smiling.

"Couldn't agree more, and this sleeping prince is still sleeping."

"Hahaha, Daniel has always been a heavy sleeper, even gunfire wouldn't wake him up," Mira commented.

Anna replied with a smile. The AFB was right in front of them, probably around twenty kilometers to go. Finally, they could release the cargo from the helicopter. If they were fultoned, it would take far lesser time to take them to AFB due to the faster speed of a cargo plane.

Well, it was justified though. The moment they landed on the AFB, there were only two people there, both were in their flight suits. They were probably the pilots that provided Del with the means to do last night operation.. Well, it looked like it would take quite a while until someone appeared.
