Chapter 137.1. Magic And Gerer
-Gerer’s POV-
Gerer was confident of victory. That’s how much faith I had in the divine instrument I used, Mistilteinn.
“That was close. If it weren’t for Mistilteinn, which I had gotten last week, we would have lost.”
I had no idea that he would be using Mistilteinn, which I had not yet reported to headquarters that I had obtained.
I remembered now I was in a cold sweat. My throat was parched, and I was aware that he was nervous.
Loki was that strong. The proof was in the inferno that surrounded them. The forest was ablaze, sparks of dancing fire and fleeing monsters in frenzied packs.
The mana had filled up due to the numerous magic spells used in a frenzy, and the magic composition was no longer working. That means the magic of the surveillance system from a long distance will not be effective.
After a huge amount of mana hit each other, I finally defeated my enemy. Gerer had never been defeated since I had learned the inner workings that transformed me into Evil Arc, but I felt his life was in danger.
“……It was a creepy opponent. I wonder if she’s made of machines inside to act without hesitation.”
No matter how much damage I inflicted, she recovered. I was surprised at her recovery magic’s performance and her ability to use it continuously, but what surprised me the most was she acted without protecting her body, even after being wounded.
The pain would have frightened her and slowed her movements. If she knew she’ll get wounded, she would grit her teeth and try to endure.
However, Loki attacked without hesitation. He did not care if he was wounded, and I couldn’t perceive she was trying to endure the damage.
At first, I thought she was hiding her pain and was putting on a poker face. It is a common bluff in combat.
However, I soon realized that this was not the case. She looked slightly happy when I hit hrt, and there was no sign that she was trying to play games by putting on a poker face.
She was indifferent to her body. I would still think that a Lich or Vampire would take care of their bodies better than her.
That’s how creepy an enemy she was.
It had been a long time since I felt relieved I had been able to kill her.
“Now, we need to retrieve Mistilteinn and Loki and defeat the man who summoned that mythical-level dragon. No, there’s also a woman who’s sneaking around and hiding in the forest.”
In the distance, I see a dragon that contains vast amounts of mana and carries the gleam of diamonds on its body. There is also a man wearing knight armor-type magical armor on its head.
“Let’s run away.”
It took a lot of mana to defeat Loki. I’m uneasy about fighting the hiding woman and the man who summoned the dragon.
“Let’s be satisfied that we have Loki’s body here.”
The decision was quick. Loki can transform into anything. I then decide that if I can recover Mistilteinn, he’ll be satisfied with the results of this battle.
Loki can use that much recovery magic. If I could get it, I might be able to get closer to the secret of immortality and the Mistilteinn I had obtained last week in the depths of this region would be enough.
It’s the Rusty Spear which was in an abandoned museum. When I poured mana into it, it awakened and turned into Mistilteinn, a sacred weapon of the sacred tree.
It can manipulate Earth and Plant Magic at will, and when stabbed into an enemy, it seals their magic. It was an incredibly powerful sacred weapon.
It was also a spear that I had no intention of using in my battle with Loki.
Because Gerz was not a master of the spear. I feared the enemy would use the Mistilteinn and take it away from me.
However, I was in a tight spot and defeated Loki by throwing a projectile.
She moved the huge body of evil arc and moved around the ground, it hard’s trying to find Loki.
“I knew I shouldn’t let my guard down.”
I hear the sound of a voice like a cute little chick, and my body shakes with fear. In disbelief, I turn my body toward the voice and see Loki standing at the top of the tree.
“How can you move with that wound?”
I exclaimed, more in fear than surprise.
The bloody girl had a large gash on her left shoulder. And her arm was only connected by a piece of skin.
And yet, she’s holding two swords nonchalantly expression, smiling wryly. Her left arm, which was not supposed to move, was completely unaffected.
And there was one thing that was stranger than anything else.
“Oiiiiii, you were supposed to have your magic sealed! Why are you able to use physical enhancements?
Her magic is supposed to get sealed. She would no longer be able to use her physical enhancements. She was supposed to be a mere civilian, but her opponent was still in shock.
“It’s called a maiden’s secret! Let’s retry!”
[Ground Shrink]
Loki’s figure scuttles away. She kicks a tree at super speed and flies toward Gerer.
“I… I have to intercept.”
A feeling of fear runs down my spine, but Gerer glares hard at her opponent, knowing I must defeat the approaching Loki.
[Ivy Lance]
Huge ivy lances like castle-breaking hammers are shot out from evil arc’s body. Countless Ivy Lances head toward Loki as if shooting missiles from a missile pod.
“I’ll show you my ninja trump card!”
[Clear Mirror, Still Water]
Loki peels her double teeth, and her body is imbued with a pure white aura. She then swings her dagger at Ivy Lances, which is on the verge of hitting her.
No matter how you look at it, the dagger gets flipped off due to its mass and size, and Loki’s body becomes crumpled.
Gerer had expected this, but she easily repels the Ivy Lances. The magic lance was as huge as a castle hammer and infused with an enormous amount of mana.
With a click, the dagger hit the tip of the Ivy Lance, and she shattered the Ivy Lance into small pieces of wood.
The Ivy Lances that came one after the other were similarly crushed without allowing the wielding hand to see the movement.
Then, using the approaching ivy as a springboard, she flew lightly and approached with a thump.
