Chapter 58 58 Imposter 2
"Get that imposter..." Hunt shouted and the guards at the gate quickly turned towards Alex.
The two guards in front of the gate quickly chased after Alex before he could escape their sight, Hunt also dashed out of the gate and joined the chase.
"So he lied to us...and he got that sword too, how did we believe him" the boy shouted angrily.
"We should go in young master, you shouldn't keep your father waiting"
Alex dashed through the streets, the guards were quickly catching up to him but he couldn't run any faster, the guards' level were above his and if he was caught, there would be no escaping again.
"I'm sorry..." Alex shouted as he run into a couple.
'They are going to catch up if I continue running like this, and I'm getting tired...Yes, that could work, I would try it' Alex mumbled as he took another turn.
He planned to run towards the market street and lose them in the crowd, then he would take off his mask and cloak to avoid being seen.
He increased his speed despite being tired then he turned around to see where the guards were but only two of them were behind him, last time he looked three guards were chasing him but now one of them was gone.
Alex faced forward and continued running, he was close to the market street and he was sure he would lose them there unknown to him that Hunt guessed his plan and took another route to the market street.
They met Alex in a merchant shop so Hunt guessed that Alex would most likely return there.
Alex took another turn and finally he could see the busy street upward, it wasn't as busy as earlier but he could still lose them in the crowd, then he would enter any of the shops and get changed.
"I was right, there he is, he's all mine" Hunt muttered to himself as he stood close to one of the shops looking at Alex as he ran towards him.
"Hey Gabriel, that's Alex right... it's him, he's being chased" Max said as they saw Alex running with two guards close to him.
"That's him, he's going to try to lose them in the crowd, that's a good plan, wait... isn't that the guard that came with them" Gabriel spoke as he saw Hunt waiting.
"You are right, he's going to catch Alex, we need to do something," Max said.
"We should distract him"
"He wouldn't listen to us, instead when Alex gets close we should run in front of him, you should chase me," Gabriel said.
"That's a good idea, we'll wait till he's close then..."
Alex was tired of running but he could see his freedom in front of him, at least he got a rare quality sword from all his trouble, he didn't know the real Hunter would be in the mansion when he claimed the name.
"They are not going to catch up, I can escape" Alex mumbled as he dashed towards the crowd.
"I got you now" Hunt shouted and leaped towards Alex.
Alex looked sideways and saw Hunt but there was nothing he could do but watch, suddenly two figures emerged and crashed into Hunt making the three of them fall to the ground.
Alex dashed into the crowd and quickly moved sideways, he removed his mask first then he bent down and took his cloak off, the guards wouldn't be able to recognize him now so he walked into a shop.
"What the hell is wrong with both of you" Hunt shouted at Max and Gabriel.
"We are very sorry sir," Max apologized.
"You are not kids, why are you running around" Hunt shouted.
"We lost him in the crowd" the two guards who chased Alex into the crowd reported back to Hunt.
Hunt was fuming with anger as he looked at Max and Gabriel, immediately two other guards walked towards them with stern-looking faces.
"What is going on here" the guard spoke in an irritated tone.
Hunt flashed a deadly glare toward the guard and stood up straight, he didn't answer their questions and he walked away, the guards who joined in chasing Alex followed him.
"Are they not together?" Gabriel whispered.
"There are supposed to be together but I don't think they are on good terms, these guys are the guards responsible for guarding this area I think" Max whispered back.
The two guards looked at Max and Gabriel and walked away without saying a word, both of them stood up and wiped their clothes to get rid of specks of dust.
"Now how do we find Alex?" Gabriel asked.
"I don't know, he may be in one of the shops, I hope he got the sword" Max smiled.
"If we got the sword, then we should leave earlier than expected, because I got to buy two more spell books and you got a good sword," Gabriel said.
"You are right...ohhh there he is," Max said and pointed towards Alex as he looked around checking if the guards were gone or not.
Alex looked and saw no sign of the men that chased him, even though they wouldn't recognize him, he was still cautious, Alex smiled and moved away from the crowd.
"I knew it was you, we got you now?" a voice that Alex recognized spoke.
Before Alex could take a step forward, a hand caught him and held firm, he heard a chuckle from behind him and he already knew his fate, he would either be locked up in prison or punished.
'Shit...I shouldn't have done this, but hope did they recognize me, they couldn't see my face' Alex mumbled as he turned around.
Max and Gabriel burst into laughter as they let go of Alex's hands, Alex gritted his teeth and raised both of his hands to punch them, both of them quickly moved away to avoid his fist.
"You thought you were done for right?" Gabriel laughed.
"That's not funny, you guys shouldn't try it again" Alex sneered.
