MMORPG: Strongest Assassin Online

Chapter 189 189 Hidden Class

Alex knew her room so he headed straight to the room and stopped at the door, he had nothing to say or a reason for coming here, he just wanted to check if she was still in but what excuse does he give.

Alex stood there for a while wondering what he was going to say, it was still midnight and he couldn't knock without a reason, Alex left after a while but he didn't return back to his room instead he headed down to the entrance of the inn.

This time another lady was behind the counter and before he left he heads towards the counter.

"Can I get something sweet?" Alex asked the lady.

"Sure, do you want a cup?"

"No, a pilgrim bottle"

"Cold or hot?"

"Cold..." Alex replied.

Different drinks were arranged behind the counter but she didn't take any of them as she head to a small door, she went in and after few seconds she came out with a bottle filled with red liquid like a health potion.

"700 coins" the lady spoke and Alex didn't speak and opened his inventory and handed her the coins and stepped outside.

Two medium sized bench were placed at the entrance and Alex took a seat at one of them, he opened the drink and tasted it and it was indeed sweet.

Alex took a deep breath and stared at the buildings around, the city was as quiet as a graveyard now that it was night except for guards Alex saw moving around.

After staying for some minutes, more than three different guards had passed Alex, all of them stared at him like he was a criminal but he didn't mind in the least l, he sat there sipping his drink little at a time.

He was out here for two reasons, one he wasn't sleepy after waking up from his trance and second he wanted to see if Melissa was able to speak to the god that chose her or not.

The Gods wanted their avatars to come to the Gold Continent because the demon Lord was there and the elder god would definitely call Melissa and she might leave them behind.

"Alex...what are you doing out here?" Melissa asked as she saw Alex.

"Hey why aren't you asleep?" Alex asked.

"I could ask you the same question, what are you doing out here?"

"I woke up and I could sleep so I came out here to get a drink, the drinks of this world are as impressive as the real world" Alex chuckled.

"Really..."

"So what are you doing out?" Alex asked.

"Same as you but I didn't come for a drink, I just came to get my mind's off things, I couldn't sleep" Melissa said as she sat down close to Alex.

"Can I do anything to help?"

"No, it's something personal, you don't have to worry about it, so after going to Zenith City, what's the plan?" Melissa asked.

"After Zenith City, we're heading straight to the Silver Continent, that is after passing through the city that owns the port, then we'll think of what to do next" Alex spoke.

"What if the demon Lord is in the Gold Continent" Melissa said.

"Rushing to the demon Lord won't make us able to win, we have to take things slow, even if the demon Lord is in the Gold Continent we have no way of flying there so we'll have to take things easy" Alex said.

"You are right, there's no use fighting the demon Lord without being able to defeat him" Melissa spoke.

"What if the demon Lord is in the Silver Continent, heading there is exactly like running into flame" Alex said.

"He's not, he is probably in the Gold Continent, I'm sure" Melissa said.

"Really, did you contact someone there?" Alex asked.

"No, it's just a feeling, but still we have to be careful"

Alex was now sure Melissa could also speak with one of the elder gods, she had been told the demon Lord is in the Gold Continent that's why she was asking.

"You are right, if this was Nova Online I would have fought the demon Lord once to test his strength but this isn't a game, fighting when you know your defeat is inevitable is foolishness" Alex mumbled.

"But there's no way to know how strong the demon Lord is, how would we know if we are strong enough to beat the demon Lord?" Melissa asked.

"There is no way to know, all we have to do is to train till we are strong enough to fight any one who stands in our way then we'll be able to face the demon Lord" Alex spoke.

"All of this still feel like a dream, to tell you the truth, when I slept earlier I was expecting the dream to be over so I'll find myself in my bed at home but it seems this is our life now"

"Yeah, and we have no choice but to survive if we want to make it back to the real world"

"Are you even sure we can make it back, I'm not saying we're going to die, but what if after the demon Lord is defeated there's no way back, we'll have to live in this uncivilized world with no technology and we are not mages"

"Oh I haven't told you guys yet, I'm mage, though I haven't learn any spells or how to draw Mana but I'll in the future"

"You are a mage!! aren't you an assassin?" Melissa asked.

"Yes, an arcane assassin, I unlocked a hidden class and gained the Mana stats"

"Really I've never seen anyone unlock a hidden class, so they are hidden classes...speaking about mages, how were you able to release fire back when we were facing the ghouls, I wanted to as but I forgot"

"That's one of my abilities, energy absorption" Alex answered.

"Your ability, that's nice, I haven't used my ability yet, wait... you said abilities, how many did you receive?" Melissa asked.

"Two, but it's still not complete, avatars unlock their abilities as time goes on" Alex said.

"Ohh, is that so, I only got only one and I don't really know how it works, but I'll definitely practice, Alex we should duel and see who's stronger" Melissa said.

"Duel, you are stronger than me, there's no point in arguing about that, and besides how would we duel, you are an archer and I'm an assassin?" Alex asked.

"Hand combat" Melissa smiled.

"Hand combat, are you serious, even though you are stronger than me, I'm quite good in close combat since I need it to defeat my opponent but you are an archer, I'm sure you haven't fought close combat that much"

"That's why I want to train, my bow is strong enough to stop an axe so learning close combat would give me certain advantages"

"You are right, your bow did stop the axe of the greater ghoul, I really thought you were dead, I was planning to rip the ghoul apart piece by piece" Alex gritted his teeth and a smile formed on Melissa's face.

"Then we'll find the chance maybe when we get to Zenith City, we also wanted to find somewhere for Rebecca to train using her whip, and maybe I can look for a magic instructor to coach me"

"You are having problem learning magic, mages who are players don't have to learn magic, just buy a spell book and cast learn the spell, isn't that all?" Melissa asked.

"There are part of the mage class but I'm not" Alex said.

"So you can't learn spells like they do, you have to learn it properly, does that means you have to attend a magic academy?"

"No, I just need someone to show me the ropes, I'm going to figure the rest out" Alex said and Melissa smiled, she loved Alex's confidence.

"I thought it was still midnight, but it's already morning" Melissa said as she looked at the sky, there were inside the city and surrounded with huge walls, there was no way they could see the sun rising.

"That's our cue, I hope Matthew is done with the potions" Alex muttered.

"I should go wake up Rebecca, you wake up the boys let leave" Melissa said as both of the walked back into the inn.
