Chapter 165 165 Next Step
The door opened and Lynx walked into the store, Alex saw him and stood up from his chair and the rest of them walked in.
"I'm surprised you all came, I was expecting only Gabriel" Alex said with a smile.
"Before we think of a plan or anything, you need to explain what's going on first," Max said.
"Okay, what do you want to know?" Alex asked.
"Everything, just explain everything to us, how did you know what was going on?" Gabriel asked.
"Well to start from the top, there were six Elder Gods who watched over humanity, anything a powerful enemy appears that is a threat to humanity, the Gods bless six humans with supernatural abilities and they are called avatars, then one of the gods betrayed the rest and he was sealed by the rest of them," Alex said.
"I really don't understand where you are going with this, but go on" Lynx spoke.
"Wait...so Gods choose humans and gift them abilities so they would fight against evil, you called Melissa a chosen one, does she have special abilities?" Max asked.
"Yes," Alex replied.
"But how did you know all this, are you also one of the chosen ones?" Melissa asked.
"No, they are supposed to be five avatars but I'm also an avatar," Alex said.
"You said there were six Elder Gods, then you are the last Avatar right?" Gabriel spoke.
"The last god was sealed right, then you are the Avatar of the last god" Max mouthed.
"Yes exactly, and I was supposed to be killed but luckily I escaped before Bridget could kill me"
"Huh!! what did you just say, before Bridget could kill you?" Max mumbled.
"Ohh...I forgot that part, Bridget was sent by the Gods to kill me, she's not human" Alex said.
"Why? Why was she sent to kill you, you are not the enemy right?" Max asked
"Of course, I'm not, because I'm the Avatar of the god that betrayed them"
"I still have no idea what you are talking about, so we are stuck here till we kill some demon Lord, then what about Earth what happened to Earth, if all the players of Nova Online are here that means 1 billion people are missing on Earth," Lynx said.
"You are right, my dad I wonder what he's doing right now," Rebecca said.
"I don't think we have time to worry about Earth, first if we die here, we are dead for real, secondly now that we are in the game as humans, we would feel pain, we'll need to eat, sleep, drink, and do other stuff here," Alex said.
"This is really bad, there are tons of dangerous beasts here, along with humans, bandits, killers, magic, swords, and war, how would we survive," Gabriel said.
"We just have to do things normally, we have been playing Nova Online for quite some time, and we still have our system at our disposal, we still have our skills, magic, and abilities, that's why I wanted us to start in the Bronze Continent" Alex added.
"This is kinda interesting" Lynx smirked.
"Interesting...what if we get killed," Rebecca said.
"Don't worry, we'll protect you, you are a healer so you have the most important role to play" Lynx said.
"He's right, as a healer you are more valuable than any of us so we'll definitely protect you, and don't forget we have the top 5 players here," Alex said looking at Melissa.
"I'm not really sure about that, we are in a game and I'm one of the chosen ones that is destined to stop the demon Lord right?"
"Yes, but you won't be alone, the top 5 players of Nova Online are the five chosen ones, and we'll all be here," Alex said.
"But we don't even know where the demon is, what he looks like, or how powerful he is, even if we actually find him, are you sure we can defeat him?" Melissa asked.
"That's a question for later, for now, we have to figure out how to survive, at least we all have enough money"
"But they are tons of things to do, what do we do first?" Max asked.
"Health potions, we should buy a lot of those, Rebecca is still low-leveled and she won't be available all the time," Alex said.
"You are right"
"I already have ton of health potions so I don't need more" Melissa spoke.
"Then after health potions?"
"Why are you all looking at me, I don't know what next" Alex sneered.
"You are the leader of this group and you know more about the Gods than we do, even though you are no longer the strongest among us, you are still smart," Gabriel said with a smile.
"I really don't know what to do next, buying a health potion increases our chances of survival, we have to increase our chances before going after beasts," Alex said.
"Going after what? Are you in your right mind Alex, why would we go after beasts, isn't that dangerous!?" Gabriel asked.
"Then what do you suggest, we can't stay in the city forever, we have to level up to increase our HP and stats, we also need money so we'll have to look for jobs as adventurers," Alex said.
"You already have this planned out right?" Lynx asked.
"I didn't plan this, I was expecting the demon Lord to come to our Earth, but it seems the Elder Gods used us as shields and spears to protect the real world," Alex said.
"I just hope the demon Lord isn't in the Bronze Continent or else we are all screwed" Gabriel spoke.
"Back then, the man speaking said something about increasing our chances of survival by giving everyone a weapon, did any of you get any weapon?" Lynx asked.
"We haven't checked our inventory so we don't know, and we haven't even checked our status page," Alex said and quickly thought of his status page.

Alex looked through his stats, some things were gone and he glanced through each of the icons carefully.
Title, Rank, Slaves, Help, Achievement, Friend list and Log out icon were all gone.
Alex touched his map to see if it still had all the locations and to his surprise the map was covered by black shadows except for Melmond City.
"The map is gone, only where we are is visible," Alex said.
"Most of the icons are gone and the log out icon is also gone," Max said.
"I would have logged out if it was still there" Gabriel chuckled.
"This isn't funny, we are really stuck in a game on a mission to kill something we haven't even seen before, I'm not sure I'll go with you guys, we should just stay in the city where we can be safe," Rebecca said.
"Staying in the city doesn't guarantee safety, moving around would be the best way to survive, and did any of you see the freebie icon," Alex said.
"Maybe it's the free weapon" Max smiled as he touch the freebie icon on his status page.
"Nothing happened, I don't think..."
>SWOOSH!!<
Max who was sitting in front of them suddenly vanished without a trace, the rest of them quickly jumped away from where he was in shock, now that they were stuck in the game, a player disappearing only means one thing.
"Is he dead!!" Melissa shouted.
"I don't think he's dead, he touch the freebie icon, maybe that's why he disappeared," Alex said.
"Is he coming back?" Rebecca asked.
"I don't know, I'll try and see, don't be alarmed if I also disappeared," Alex said.
"You are really brave Alex, I admire you," Lynx said.
"I'm not brave, I'm just smart, if the gods are giving out freebies, then the first players to try would receive powerful weapons," Alex smirked as he vanished immediately.
"He's right," Lynx said as he also vanished, within a few seconds all of them were gone from the potion shop.
*Cough*
"Hey guys, I...huh!! did they leave" Matthew said as he looked around, he left Alex and his friends in his shop and went to the other room to mix up some potions and now they were all gone.
