Chapter 925: Heading Back to the Shadow Plane

"...What?"

At the very moment those words left Noel's mouth, Valyr looked back at the old man with a hint of confusion.

Understanding that the main reason that Noel wanted him to visit the Spearman Guild revolved around Azure Energy, the young man already had ideas on a couple possible scenarios that would happen.

One of those scenarios would be the old man asking him if he could contact Sellifer, considering that the two already had history in the past.

Another possible scenario that popped up in the young man's mind was Noel asking him if he could teach him how to harness the power of Azure Energy.

After all, in its current state, it could already match up to the power of Abyssal Energy.

If Noel were to get his hands on Azure Energy and bring it to greater heights, then it went without saying that he would immediately become a feared entity on the battlefield.

Between these two things, Noel's request leaned more towards the first possibility, but headed in a direction that the young man did not expect.

In his mind, he thought that Noel would ask him to contact Sellifer to possibly tie up some loose ends, being reminded of the past that unfolded between the two once more.

'Then again, with the gap in power that exists between the two of them, I guess this should've been a possibility I was expecting as well,' thought the young man not long after, not finding the old man's request that peculiar anymore.

"So... can you contact her?" Seeing as Valyr went silent all of a sudden after his request, a hint of concern appeared on Noel's face as he asked in slight worry.

Inwardly taking a deep breath, the confusion on the young man's face was replaced with a faint awkward smile. "I'll try... but expect it to take some time."

At those words, Noel merely smiled as he nodded. "Don't worry. Take as much time as you need."

Nodding back in response to the man's words, Valyr stood up before deciding to distance himself from the old man, telling him that he needed some space to contact Sellifer.

Getting an idea on what went on in the young man's mind, Noel faintly nodded in response, allowing the young man to faintly sigh in relief as he moved a couple hundred of meters away from the old man.

Feeling like he'd gotten far enough from Noel, Valyr retrieved the talisman Vaughn gave him from his spatial bracelet before infusing it with a bit of his energy.

'It's been a while since we last had a talk.' Hearing a familiar voice resound in his mind once more, a faint smile adorned Valyr's lips as he held the talisman closer to his body.

'So, what made you take the initiative to talk with me?' asked Vaughn after that. 'Need me to fulfill a request for you?'

'I guess you could consider it a request,' replied Valyr. 'Could you help me contact Sellifer so I could ask her a couple of things?'

'Wait... she didn't give you a method to contact her?' After a bit of silence, Vaughn responded back to Valyr's favor with a hint of incredulity. 'Didn't you two spend a fair amount of time already?'

'Yeah...' Valyr could only bitterly smile at those words, recalling how the woman had forgotten to give him titles related to Azure Energy at first.

Though she had given them to him in the end, it was only around the time she gave the young man a Concept Impartation.

'As forgetful as ever...' Vaughn let out a sigh. 'Even back then, she was already beginning to forget a few things here and there, only recalling those things after some time had passed.'

'In any case, is that all you want me to do? Don't you need help on anything else?'

Hearing this question, Valyr said yes, confirming that it was the only thing he needed Vaughn's help in.

'If that's the case, then I won't consider this as you using one of the requests,' said Vaughn in response, prompting the young man to go silent. 'After all, the scope of this task is too simple to be considered one.'

After going silent for a bit, Valyr could only reply back with words of gratitude, to which Vaughn responded back with a slight chuckle.

'It'll take some time for me to contact Sellifer, but I'll make sure she'll contact you within the next couple of hours or so,' said Vaughn, ending the conversation after that once he said a couple more words.

'Anyways, don't forget to talk with Ryvrthe once you have some free time.'

Whoosh!

Seeing the talisman return to its original state, Valyr looked at it for a bit before putting it back into his spatial bracelet.

Then, going over the things the two of them discussed, the young man returned to where Noel was, sitting back down.

"So, how did it go?" Asking this question, Noel looked at the young man with both curiosity and expectation.

"It went well." Valyr nodded as he looked back, causing Noel to beam with happiness. "However, we'll have to wait a couple of hours or so before she contacts me."

"That's more than enough." Noel laughed with glee. "The fact that she's willing to talk is already beyond my wildest expectations."

"Putting the topic of the divine being aside..."

As these words left his mouth, Noel's expression immediately turned stern, staring at the young man as if he could shoot daggers through his eyes. "Have you even worked on your Shadow Energy after we last met?"

"Er..." Scratching his cheek, Valyr looked at Noel with an awkward chuckle in response.

Noel could only sigh at that, shaking his head before releasing a bit of his Abyssal Energy into the ground.

Whoosh!

Within seconds, a rift that led to the Shadow Plane appeared before the two, causing Valyr to look at the old man for a bit, the gears in his mind turning.

"What are you giving me that look for?" said Noel back.

Pointing at the rift, he continued, "Since you haven't worked on your Shadow Energy all this time, why not take this time waiting for the divine being as an opportunity to work on it, even if it's just a little bit?"

Hearing that, Valyr could only look back at him in silence, only to inwardly let out a low

exhale soon after.

"Well... alright then."

Standing up, the young man soon passed through the rift, with the old man following behind

him not long after.

And with that, the two eventually arrived at the Shadow Plane.
