Chapter 1242 Returning to the Game
Chapter 1242 Returning to the Game
"Oh? Maintenance is finally over?"
Just as Valyr brought out his phone to see if Thomas sent him a message or two after they parted ways, the young man instead found out that the two of them spent more than enough time for Greater Beyond to be open again.
Because of that, the young man headed straight to the gaming pod, tossing all of the other thoughts he had for the meantime as his expression turned that of anticipation and excitement.
"I really hope they follow through with their words." Muttering these words to himself, Valyr soon booted up Greater Beyond, allowing the gaming pod to do what it needed to do for him to enter the game.
Whoosh!
'…Ah.' After hearing a few slightly concerning sounds echo from the gaming pod, Valyr soon felt like he'd been detached from his body, only to then feel like he was being transported to some far-away place not long after.
'So this is what she meant when she said they transfer our consciousnesses to another universe.' Unsurprisingly, these sensations were more than enough for him to recall the conversation he had with Eve on the matter, even though a pure yet boundless white greeted him wherever he looked.
Swoosh!
Eventually, the young man was transported out of the world of white after a minute or so. At the same time, he felt his thoughts and consciousnesses reconnect with something, reminding him of the brief sensation he felt earlier during the start of the login process.
Pushing the thoughts that popped up in his mind to the side for the meantime, Valyr was eventually greeted by the sight of Veldanyr once more as he appeared at the players' spawn point within Daffors Village.
"I'm finally back," muttered Valyr to himself with a faint smile on his face, only to then clench his fists not long after in excitement.
Moving slightly away from the spawn point after noticing more and more players appear where he stood, the young man went ahead and did a few basic movements as a way for him to adjust to his current body's stats.
'It really feels like I've started all over again,' thought Valyr to himself with a slightly wry smile.
'Then again, it's not like I'm actually starting from scratch.'
Ding!

Bringing up his current status screen, Valyr checked to see if his past self had obtained any skills or any other items to bolster his strength before their fateful strength.
'On second thought, I think I am starting from scratch.' Unfortunately, after going through his pockets and the various system features, all he found was the small bit of money his past self had saved up.
'Then again… it's not really all that bad.' Faintly letting out a sigh at the somewhat destitute state his past self was in, Valyr soon thought that his current state actually had more upsides to it than downsides.
'Although I do need to amass a bit of money to get the ball rolling, I already plan on solving that bit once Thomas logs into the game later.' n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
'Aside from that, not having skills nor having allocated my unassigned stat points means that I'm free to explore another path to power,' inwardly said the young man to himself. 'But of course, that all hinges on whether or not Adam and Eve follows through with their words.'
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Coincidentally, as if the two were listening to his inner monologue this entire time, a string of notifications swiftly resounded in Valyr's mind at the exact moment he finished his train of thought.
Although he was slightly taken aback to receive such a large number of notifications in his current state, the young man was able to recompose himself as he had a rough understanding as to why he'd get them.
'I suppose I'd also get them once I'm able to return to Valyr Zeihardt?' asked Valyr to himself with a hint of uncertainty, only to then bring up his notification screen in front of him not long after.
Whoosh!
[The Fifth Administrator looks at you with both delight and relief, more than glad that the things you've went through hadn't affected you.]
[The Third Administrator looks at you with approval, seeing that you've come to terms with your current identity.]
["I suppose now's the time for us to fulfill the promises we've made," says the Third Administrator.]
[Through the intervention of the Third Administrator, you have obtained the active skill 'Soul Shift'.]
[Through the intervention of the Third Administrator, you have obtained the active skill 'Soul Fusion'.]
[Through the intervention of the Third Administrator, you have obtained the active skill 'Soul Split'.]
["With these first skill, you now have the ability to change between Valyr Zeihardt and Valyr Meyers at any time," says the Third Administrator.]
["Of course, for you to swap between the two identities freely, you must first have your identity as Ataraxia reach the same level Valyr Zeihardt did, which is the peak of Rank 4."]
["On the other hand, the second skill allows you to combine the strengths of both Valyr Meyers and Valyr Zeihardt, gaining access to both sides' abilities while also combining the stats of both sides."]
["As for the last skill, it allows your two identities to work separately while still being connected in thought," says the Third Administrator. "I'm sure you already know how to make great use of these three."]
["Aside from the skills you got from Adam, I'll also be giving you a couple of skills, as well as a title to help your current identity out," says the Fifth Administrator.]
[Through the intervention of the Fifth Administrator, you have obtained the title 'Recognition of the Administrator'.]
[Through the intervention of the Fifth Administrator, you have obtained the passive skill 'Obscuration of True Fate'.]
[Through the intervention of the Fifth Administrator, you have obtained the passive skill 'Mark of the Fifth Administrator'.]
["I'll leave the title for you to check, but the first skill allows the 'True Defier of Fate' your other identity has to remain separate from your current identity," says the Fifth Administrator.]
["If it wasn't, then you'd probably have to bear the same tribulations your other identity is going through, making your goal of having both identities be at the same level significantly more difficult."]
["As for the other skill, it's just a way for us to keep track of your whereabouts, as well as a way for us to contact you if the opportunity arises," says the Fifth Administrator.]
["If you can, make reaching the peak of Rank 4 with Ataraxia your first goal," says the Third Administrator. "Of course, don't neglect improving your strength as much as possible as well."]
["What Adam said," says the Fifth Administrator. "…And I guess that's it for now." ["We wish you the best of luck."]
Whoosh!
