Chapter 104
Chapter 104
Jun Zishu was stunned. She honestly did not know when Luo Minghuan had prepared this roasted chicken. She only knew that Luo Minghuan had gone out and handed a novice monk a small piece of paper.
However, Little Fairy had stated that the paper was blank.
Jun Zishu felt that there was more than meets the eye about this situation. After all, there shouldn’t be any symbolic meaning behind a blank piece of paper. Besides, Luo Minghuan wouldn’t be so bored as to use a secret code to communicate her intent of purchasing a roasted chicken.
There was no doubt that Luo Minghuan had tasked someone with buying this chicken. Moreover, it shouldn’t have been long since the chicken was bought since it was still steaming hot.
However, Jun Zishu’s expression only froze for a second before surprise erupted on her face.
“Your magic trick is awesome, Husband!”
“Hurry up and eat, then.”
Luo Minghuan knew Jun Zishu would like her magic trick. As for her action of breaking the rules of this sacred temple… Luo Minghuan inwardly laughed. So what if she was breaking the rules?
Jun Zishu did not pick up her chopsticks immediately. Instead, she first leaned into Luo Minghuan and fawningly rubbed her head against her husband’s neck.
“What’s wrong? Not hungry?” Luo Minghuan asked, an amused smile appearing on her face as she rubbed the head of her fawning wife.
“You’re the best, Husband,” Jun Zishu said, humming as she fawningly wrapped her arms around Luo Minghuan to express her intimacy.
Little Fairy inwardly lamented the fall of her host’s intelligence. Then, she also began secretly rubbing her host’s head.
It couldn’t be helped. Her host was simply too cute.
Jun Zishu didn’t have an image to maintain. If she had to act like a scumbag, she would act like a scumbag. If she had to act cute, she would act cute. Thus, she gladly smothered her face against Luo Minghuan’s body.
“A roast chicken is enough to buy you off?”
Luo Minghuan originally wanted to pat Jun Zishu’s back. However, she failed to consider their current postures and accidentally patted Jun Zishu’s buttocks instead.
The soft and fleshy sensation was so irresistible that Luo Minghuan had subconsciously copped an extra feel. Then, by the time she realized what she had done, her whole body froze.
Stiffly, Luo Minghuan retracted her hand as she felt a burning sensation spreading from her palm to her face. To make matters worse, the little girl in her embrace was still fawningly rubbing against her neck, the girl’s hot breath stimulating her even further.
Luo Minghuan blushed, her sickly complexion looking a lot brighter with the addition of this hint of red.
Meanwhile, Jun Zishu grunted, expressing her agreement in response to Luo Minghuan’s question.
“You’re that easy to trick? Does that mean you’ll follow anyone who gives you meat?” Luo Minghuan asked as she pulled the clingy girl off her body. Then, she supported Jun Zishu by the waist, preventing her from falling.
“Of course not. I will only follow Husband.”
The girl spoke with unblemished eyes. Her eyes were so clear that Luo Minghuan could see straight through them. Yet, it was also precisely because those eyes were so pristine that when Luo Minghuan looked into them, she felt as if she was looking into a lake. Specifically, she felt like she was looking at the darkness hidden in the depths of the lake. The darkness was so overwhelming that she felt like it would consume her if she looked at it for any longer. Then, when she snapped out of her daze, the overwhelming feeling she felt suddenly vanished, making it seem as if everything she experienced was nothing but an illusion. Meanwhile, the person in front of her was still as soft and clingy as always.
“Hurry up and eat. It’ll get cold if you wait any longer.”
“Mhm!”
Jun Zishu felt it unnecessary to ask the origins of this roasted chicken. She didn’t find it necessary to ask why Luo Minghuan was doing all this for her, either. Instead, she gladly enjoyed the chicken and greased her mouth.
Luo Minghuan was the first to finish her meal. Then, she set down her chopsticks and quietly watched as Jun Zishu tore a drumstick off of the chicken.
When Jun Zishu was about done with her meal, Luo Minghuan took out a handkerchief to wipe Jun Zishu’s hands and mouth. Then, she summoned Ruyun to take care of the remaining food on the table and fetch a basin of water for them.
Jun Zishu felt like a large demented child, or more specifically, a giant baby. Apart from feeding herself, she didn’t need to do anything else. She didn’t need to wipe her hands or her mouth herself. Now, she even had Luo Minghuan washing her hands for her.
After removing all oil stains from Jun Zishu’s hands, Luo Minghuan wiped them once more, her careful actions making it look like she was taking care of a precious gem.
…
After returning to their room, Jun Zishu sat around for a bit before eagerly she asked Luo Minghuan, “Husband, didn’t you say that there was a play to watch? Where is it?”
“A good show should naturally be saved for last. Do you still want to go out and play right now?”
“Not anymore. This place isn’t fun at all. I’ll stay here with you,” Jun Zishu said, letting out a bored sigh as she sat beside Luo Minghuan.
Luo Minghuan read a book to pass the time, the book densely packed with words. Jun Zishu could also read the book, though she pretended like she didn’t know how to since her body’s original owner was illiterate.
Noticing this, Luo Minghuan gave Jun Zishu’s face a pinch before she resumed reading her book.
Jun Zishu did not make any noise, behaving obediently as she sat beside Luo Minghuan and played with her clothes.
With neither of them making a sound, the atmosphere in the room felt rather dull.
Such a dull atmosphere created the perfect environment to sleep. As Jun Zishu had nothing better to do, she laid down on the bed and started to sleep.
However, while Jun Zishu might look like she had fallen asleep, she was, in reality, watching a movie with Little Fairy.
The breeze that entered through the window carried a faint fragrance of osmanthus flowers with it.
Luo Minghuan pulled the quilt over Jun Zishu’s body and closed her book. Then, she gently set the book down on the bedside table before quietly gazing at Jun Zishu’s sleeping face.
After some time had passed, Luo Minghuan stood up and left the room, gently closing the doors on her way out.
Jun Zishu immediately had Little Fairy pause the movie and switch to observing Luo Minghuan.
Luo Minghuan coughed a few times after exiting the room and used her sleeve to cover her mouth.
Seeing this, Ruyun quickly walked over, only to stop just as quickly when she saw Luo Minghuan waving for her to step back.
“I’ll take a walk by myself. No need to follow.”
“Understood.”
The air around the temple was refreshing. After walking for some time, Luo Minghuan’s expression looked a lot better.
Luo Minghuan kept walking down a specific path, her surroundings void of people.
When she reached the end of the path, she looked down at the lush trees. Autumn had yet to arrive fully, so the sight below was quite spectacular.
Luo Minghuan quietly stood there, a pondering expression on her face.
Just when Jun Zishu thought that nothing was going to happen, the sound of footsteps came from behind Luo Minghuan.
Luo Minghuan didn’t seem like she was surprised to hear someone coming to this secluded place, her gaze remaining calm as she looked into the distance.
“Benefactor.”
The new arrival was the abbot presiding over this temple. He had a chubby body and clear eyes.
“Has that person arrived?”
“Yes.”
After getting the answer she wanted, Luo Minghuan nodded and left.
“Benefactor, why must you disturb the tranquility here?”
“How is it me who’s causing the disturbance? I am merely a spectator here to enjoy the show,” Luo Minghuan said without much concern, a vague smile appearing on her face.
“It is never too late to turn back, Benefactor.”
“What you say is true, abbot.”
Luo Minghuan nodded, yet neither her face nor her words contained any sincerity.
If a person had yet to sink into the pits of hell, it would naturally be possible for them to turn back. Unfortunately, there was no turning back for her.
The abbot sighed as he watched the young girl walking away from him. Even though the sun was high up in the sky, he couldn’t help but feel as if he was standing amidst an eternal winter as he looked at the girl’s back. He could not see any hope in her at all.
The girl had once sought him out to discuss some matters, perhaps to look for someone to confide in, or perhaps for redemption.
After that conversation, he could sense that the girl’s resentment had reduced significantly. Yet, the next time they met, the darkness in the girl’s eyes had grown even more intense than before. His words also had less and less effect on the girl.
The girl stopped refuting his words, simply accepting them with a fake smile.
The abbot knew that the girl would only become a danger to others and herself at this rate.
However, if the girl wasn’t even trying to free herself from the shackles that bound her, nobody could save her.
[What are they doing, Host?]
Little Fairy was confused by the exchange between Luo Minghuan and the abbot. Even though she had closely watched Luo Minghuan’s every action and listened to her every word, she still couldn’t figure out what this person was trying to do.
Jun Zishu pondered in silence. In reality, she, too, had trouble figuring out the situation. Without understanding the circumstances surrounding the conversation, everything she could come up with would be nothing but guesswork.
Seeing that Luo Minghuan was on her way back, Jun Zishu stopped watching her movie and slept for real.
The next time Jun Zishu regained consciousness, it was already twilight outside.
A candle flame burned in the room, casting a shadow over the “禅(Zen)” calligraphy on the wall.
“Husband?” Jun Zishu called out in a daze, only to feel her body getting embraced.
“Mhm.”
…
There was no roasted chicken for dinner. Instead, there was a famous dish brought in from a famous restaurant—meatball served with glutinous rice on top.[1]
The meatballs melted in one’s mouth and left a fragrant taste.
Not only was this dish loved by adults, but it was also the favorite of children. At least, that was supposed to be the case, according to Ruyun.
When Luo Minghuan saw how happily Jun Zishu ate the meatballs, she found that Ruyun was correct.
Jun Zishu, who had eaten meat for two consecutive meals in a temple, was extraordinarily satisfied. After digesting her food, she separated from her husband to take a bath before reuniting with Luo Minghuan on the bed.
“Husband, where’s the play you promised?”
This was already the third time Jun Zishu had asked this question today. By now, the sky was already dark, and the day was close to over.
In response, Luo Minghuan placed a finger on Jun Zishu’s lips, her face hidden in the darkness sneering.
Jun Zishu understood the meaning Luo Minghuan was trying to convey, but she deliberately feigned ignorance as she opened her mouth and wrapped her lips around Luo Minghuan’s finger. Then, she started licking it as if she were licking candy.
In the current situation, such action was almost incitingly excessive.
Little Fairy let out a silent shriek when she saw Jun Zishu’s actions, awed by the lengths her host was willing to go to for the sake of the mission.
It should be illegal for someone to be so cute yet seductive.
Little Fairy seriously suspected that the previous mission world had severely irritated Jun Zishu and that Jun Zishu was currently venting out her frustrations.
Meanwhile, when Luo Minghuan felt the tingling and wet sensation coming from her fingertips, she withdrew her fingers in a panic and clenched her fists. She had already lost control over herself several times today, and every one of these instances involved Jun Zishu.
She knew that the little dummy wasn’t trying to be suggestive. She knew that the little dummy didn’t know anything. She knew that the little dummy was only instinctively behaving intimately with the person close to her. She also knew that the little dummy was only trying to express her fondness.
Yet, why would her heart grow so hot the instant she touched the little dummy?
…
