Chapter 143: Not a Demon or Human, but Mark.
Yuri looked at him with her mouth agape.
His skin was still light purple. His horns were obsidian black, his eyes a pair of golden gems. He had shrunk down in size, about the size of a normal human. He had removed as many flaws from his human self as possible but there were still some flaws remaining from a natural human. He hadn't become perfectly human.
Since Reol'ran hadn't warned though, it was enough.
Nothing that the Black Water can't fix.
Using the method on himself was also the best way to learn. Now, he was confident there wouldn't be any flaws the next time he turned something into a human. He took a deep breath and as green blood leaked out of his orifices, drank litres of Black Water.
The Black Water removed all the flaws for him and as Mark watched with a strange sense of horror, his green blood began turning crimson. Did he become a human?
For a small second, that horror dominated his heart.
Maybe, he would turn human and lose all his powers.
Maybe, his past as a demon had been a dream, and all of it would vanish now.
Such a weird fear I have.
Then, Mark calmed down as the blood, surprisingly, changed once more. Unlike the other Demon, he had a Bloodline, and more than that, a cool aura kept his Bloodline together—the Violet Mirror, he had made it react again.
His blood changed.
Not red, not green—but pure, unadulterated violet.
Then, as he drank more of the Black Water, he truly completed his change.
Mark stood up straight and stared at Yuri, she stared back in awe and moved aside. Walking forward slightly, he looked into the Black River at his reflection.
He was two meters tall, each cell of his body emanating immense masculine allure; like a mythical god of brutality descended onto the land of men. All around, he looked incredibly sharp, like a sword that had left its sheath.
Yuri gulped as she stared at him.
Now that Mark was of human size, her emotions couldn't be locked in place anymore and all the adoration she had for him burst forth like an opened dam, and she felt her heart melting. Her expression swooned over him, her heart did the same.
Mark turned to look at her, gleaming golden eyes filled with a strange shine.
"How is this?"
"..."
Yuri had no words.
He nodded to himself, satisfied.
Just as Yuri felt there was nothing more handsome than the current Mark, something happened again. Two wings burst forth on his back and black, metallic feathers stretched behind him. He looked at her again, obviously intending to charm her to death.
She felt her heart thrum with intensity.
"This is unfair," she said. "So demonic. Now I want to see the colors too. Damn, never had I wished I didn't have color blindness. You are already—" She cleared her throat, feeling some weird shame.
Mark closed in on her and she subconsciously took some steps back. She escaped. Yet, not for far before her back was plastered against a huge tree.
Mark placed one of his hands on her side and touched her cheek with the other.
He kissed her forehead and she felt a stinging pain in her eyes.
A second later, she whimpered, "So painful."
"Sorry, I don't know how to do it without hurting but it's only for a second."
She nodded, tearful.
Mark made her drink some Black Water with his palm. So gentle. When her eyes grew clear, she blinked, staring at Mark with even more awe.
For a long, long moment, Yuri didn't speak.
"What color is this?" she asked.
"Mine?" Mark smiled.
She nodded.
"This is the color that we call purple. A very light version of it."
Yuri looked down at his foot, blushing in shyness. "What did you do to me?"
Even the Black Water couldn't heal her color blindness because she was just born with it. How did he do it? And did everyone see the world this colorfully? All the time?
She had been missing out on such a thing?
She felt her heart shake, eyes tremble.
"Curious even when you just want to be hugged, huh?" He shook his head, but then explained, "I just fixed the anatomical anomalies on your nerves to match that of a normal human. Now, your issue is gone. Your nerves and the nerves of a normal human are positioned the same way now."
She nodded, just wanting him to hug her tight. Emotions roiled within her.
Is being this handsome even allowed? Damn him, he is so unreasonably good-looking.
He caressed her cheek, removing a tear from her face.
Or maybe, I am just madly in love, Yuri gulped.
Mark suddenly sank his face into her neck and she blinked rapidly. Her heartbeat quickened. She wanted him to push her down, pin her hands to the ground, ravage her. He could do that. He could do whatever he wanted.
"Mark, isn't this place dangerous?" she asked, the rational part of her mind uncalm.
Mark hesitated, then pulled back.
"Yes, let's first reach the city before anything else."
Yuri pulled his face closer and their lips crushed against each other. Mark immediately made his tongue move into her mouth and for a long minute, they continued the breathless kiss. Then, they broke away and with a smile, he asked, "When did you become so proactive?"
Yuri shrugged. "No idea. Well, head to that city and call me out when you need me. I have some notes to make about the earlier experiment, I think I can set something amazing up if I write everything down. Can you get me some paper and ink?"
Mark took a rock into his hand and turned it into a somewhat-paper using Alchemic Shapeshifting. Then, he turned another rock into a small container, and then another into a somewhat-ink. Satisfied, he handed it over to the Scientist.
She smiled.
"What are you now, a demon, a human, or something else?"
"I am neither demon nor human, I am Mark."
Yuri's gaze shook.
Mark hugged her and as her warmth pressed against him, as her hands wrapped around his neck, absorbed her into his World Space.
He sighed and looked around irritantly.
"Let's go to the city," he said.
The 12-meter Boss and Minotaur bowed slightly to Mark.
