Humanity thrives, but only in isolated, well defended cities, ever shrinking as the wilds slowly reclaim all that was taken. The most capable magic users are raised up as Mages to serve mankind, further their cause, and defend them over the course of millennia.Tala is freshly graduated from the magic academy and determined to make her own way in the world. She hopes to pay off her massive debts, quickly, but still plans on living each and every day to the fullest. Too bad the Academy left some glaring holes in her practical education. Loath to let that slow her down, and with no patience for a standard, low-paid apprenticeship (intended to fill many of those knowledge gaps), Tala strives to learn and improve as rapidly as she can on her own. Her unorthodox methods for preserving her own life allow her to take greater risks in search of profit and advancement, much to the surprise of those around her.****Author: I do hope you enjoy this tale, but let me know what you think either way! Critique, both positive and negative, is welcome.Release schedule is weekly: M-W-FThank you for your time and for giving this story a try. Collapse Female Protagonist, LitRPG, Magic, Age Progression, Game Elements, Character Growth, Weak to Strong, Wizards, Survival, Poor Protagonist, Medieval, Monsters I appreciate a good female mc, emphasise on the word "good" because most female protagonists are just emotional bitches crying in every other chapter, that's why I usually prefer gender bender (even those ones lose their brains along with their male bodies sometimes Seems like a good one but slice of life is making me hesitate, I mean most novels I've read on royal road with slice of life were boring, beware of chicken was one of the few exceptions I really hate these kind of novel where the mc is a female :3 Then don't read female protagonist stories. Why bemoan in the comments? He is one of those guys that enjoys reading how male MC f*ck women, not the other way around. I believe he said these kinds of and not all female lead stories. This was a good read- a new world and magic system. What sours it for me, is that the fl is very much a Rey.She is told not to do things, does it anyways, and somehow comes away with a positive result. And does something that takes everyone else half a decade to do.To make more money, she acts like she is experienced, and joins as a merc. But has no idea what she is doing and gets into a lot of trouble. Would love a spin off where they all die because she did know now what to do.And this is not because it’s a fl. many other ml stories that are written in a similar fashion- and I hate them too. What's wrong with female MC? Are you perhaps a mysogenist im guessing he doesnt like female mcs No I think he doesn't like females at all most male readers do not like reading novels with female mc because they can't relate, I was the same in the past until I read a few good ones, so no need to call out the commentor. As they say, you won't try, you won't know. You shouldn't row everything under one comb. The plot and the world should be important, not the gender of the main character.I read a novel about a woman who wanders through apocalyptic worlds. It was interesting, but I was killed by constantly repetitive untranslatable names of monsters. The same problem was in "the player who came back in 10,000 years" which novel is this? Doomsday Wonderland i think he just dislike the combination of this book genre with fmls. Personally; male or female they btch equally and btchin in any genre is unwelcomed. Unfortunately, I must agree in part. While there are many excellent FMCs is quite rare to find them in midst of the sea of eternally crying girls, pitiful dolls that exist just to attract the male leads (that are always full generic copy-paste of some other work character), or the 'you are a girl, so you can't' troupe. The good part is that the works with good FMCs tend to be damn amazing. To me, 'Kumo desu ga, nani ka?' and the novels from Vihyungrang (Royalroad) like Lament of the Fallen, are just amazing. Kumo desu ga, nani ka not only did female mc really well, but they also did the male to female side character really well too rather than just make it a joke, which is always surprising. Surprise, some jokes, then acceptance and not really bringing it up too many times, like what'd realistically happen. by ch 130 you can expect to read aboutSpoiler a different enough magic system , how humans need to hide in mana poor lands, outside a city defensive line everything is dangerous, mc attacks are gravity based, her defense and regen is well above average and she likes coffee, mc traveveling between cities as a caravan guard to make money, a teleporting bird that likes killing will join in her travels, no young masters or faceslapping Don't forget this is free on Royal Road. You can support the author there (rate and stuff) If the apocalypse don't get you, the student debts will. bro whos working overtime at ranobes? they makin small 9 year olds put these novels up? ...no other way out! Spoiler NANI?! #panic# Why can't we use GIFS ? Do you plan to add new features to the site? It's for vip members.
