Chapter 1392 Be Content
Chapter 1392 Be Content
When he had just met Raelle, he really didn't think she was a family person. Even if she seemed indifferent to most people, she was never like that when it involved family. The people she labeled as family really meant a lot to Raelle. After seeing this family photo, he again started looking around the room to find even small clues that could tell him something about Raelle's childhood but it was really difficult to find anything as everything was so neat and clean in this bedroom. Even his childhood room had plenty of tidbits like his favorite basketball, his favorite figures, his favorite toys, and even his high school notes were placed in his childhood room, showing his growth over the years. But Raelle seemed to have had no childhood. She was really a little adult even when she was younger as there was nothing extra in her life.
After Raelle took a shower, Shui Xian also took his clothes and went to take a shower. He was also quite tired from the journey. He wanted to sleep too but since he was hungry, he had to first fill his stomach. While Shui Xian was taking a shower, Raelle opened the box that was placed on her desk and took out a photo frame with a picture of her with Shui Xian in it. It was actually a photo from their honeymoon when they weren't even in love with each other. This was a photo of both of them sitting in front of the glass window, enjoying the snowfall with steaming cups of hot chocolate in their hands.
Actually, Raelle didn't know who clicked this photo but she did receive it just recently from Shui Koshing. And she liked it very much. She took a copy from Bà and sent it to Uncle Eric to get it developed. She asked him to put it in her bedroom here. Now that she was here, she found it in the box and placed it right next to the family photo. When Shui Xian came out, he walked to her side and looked at this photo that wasn't there before. He hugged Raelle from behind, "Where did this come from?"
"Why should I tell you?" retorted Raelle. "It's a secret." Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Shui Xian rubbed his nose against the side of her neck making Raelle feel itchy. "Baby, even if you don't tell me, I know. It must be Bà. This wooden cabin belonged to Bà, it was his idea that we go there for our short honeymoon as well. So, he must have asked the maids to keep an eye on us to see how we are developing our relationship."
"If you know, why ask?" "Okay, okay. I won't ask anymore," he rubbed her head lovingly. "But I am confused."
"About what now?"
"We have so many pictures together. Even our wedding photoshoot is particularly beautiful. Then why did you choose this one? And considering that you placed it right next to your family photo, it adds a special meaning to it too. I wonder why pick this particular photo. We had no love between us at that time."
Raelle leaned back into his arms comfortably putting all her weight on him without any burden. "Because at that time, I really didn't think there would come a time when I'd say that I can't seem to live without this person. It's not that I can't, it's more like I don't want to live without this man." She took a pause and added, "At the time when this photo was clicked, it was our first time together. At this moment, my body belonged to you even if my heart didn't. This is considered a memorable moment to me."
Shui Xian pursed his lips and added, "You know I would have loved it more if you said that you chose this picture because you started to have feelings for me without realizing it."
"Maybe I did."
"Huh?"
Raelle pointed at the first photo frame saying, "This is a family photo." Then she turned to the new one she added to the side table and went on, "And this is also a family photo. I don't know about other feelings but at this point, I considered you my family. And you are supposed to care about your family unconditionally. At least, that's what I believe. I grew up with the idea of doing everything I could for my family. So, you became my family at this point. Does that make it more memorable now?"
Shui Xian kissed the top of her head and said, "Actually, it doesn't even matter why you chose this photo. I quite like it. The composition and angle are good with good lighting, giving us a dreamy halo and it even seemed to show the warmth of this scene. This alone is enough."
Raelle turned around and slapped his chest, "If it was enough, why ask me so many questions?"
Shui Xian gave her a wronged look, "Isn't it because I just wanted to make you talk more? I love listening to you."
"I already talk more than ever," argued Raelle.
"But why do I think it's still not enough?"
"Be content in your lot. Don't be greedy!"
"My only greed in life is named Raelle Xiang. What should I do about it?"
"Greed is a curse. Are you calling me a curse?"
"No way! You are the blessing of my life," said Shui Xian trying to defend himself as he did not expect Raelle to give the conversation a different and dangerous turn. "I'm hungry. Let's go and eat something, okay?"
He tried to change the topic so abruptly just to save his life as he knew if he continued this argument, he'd be the one losing. Battle of words should be avoided with Raelle and he had learned this lesson.
Raelle could obviously see his desire to live as he changed the topic of conversation. She found it rather funny how he seemed too scared to even continue. She pursed her lips to suppress the corners of her lips that threatened to curl up. She was getting too natural and smiling now and didn't even have to make a conscious effort to do so.
