Chapter 1381 Victory
Chapter 1381 Victory
Raelle could only sigh mentally when she heard that she couldn't take this chance to run away. That thought did cross her mind for a second but she chose to curb that thought. As her husband and her father-in-law said, these girlies really put a lot of effort into picking up activities so that she could play along and won't feel uncomfortable too. She couldn't just abandon them and drown all their efforts in the water. Raelle didn't think she was a good person but she was someone who valued the people in her life. And these three women happened to be people she really cared about too. If it was her own mother standing in front of her in place of these three, she might not have even thought about it for a second before running away but she couldn't do the same to these three.
Especially not to Mu Chenyan who raised her. Cloe was one who stuck around her as the most attentive and efficient help which reduced her work load by several degrees and she was thankful for that. As for Xiang Wai, this sister entered her life later than the other two but she was still blood-related. This blood relation might not mean much to someone like Raelle but she wasn't willing to dash all of Xiang Wai's efforts to get close to her either.
Soon, they picked the five landmarks in a crude manner. If they had planned it earlier they could have organized this activity properly with a road map and other necessary things but it was randomly decided to go for this scavenger hunt, so they could only make use of these crude manners.
Everyone pinned the locations of the landmarks on their phone maps and looked at each other with a will to win. Raelle wasn't willing to lose this time. She just couldn't. It was enough that she lost so many times today. How could she allow herself to lose any more? Her fighting spirit was on!
"I forgot to mention, you have to click a photo at the landmark with a certain pose for it to be considered a pass," added Cloe at the last moment and sent the poses to the other three with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Why didn't you mention that before?" asked Raelle. Looking at the absurd poses, Raelle felt a headache coming on and the idea of running away was coming back to her. "Why do I think that you added this rule because of me?"
"Because I did," answered Cloe. "Do you think I don't understand your brain? You'd take a photo of your hand with a V sign at the chosen landmarks and consider it as being done. Then you'll tell me that I never mentioned that one had to show their faces in the photos to pass. I know how you love to find loopholes but don't forget, you trained me in all these years. I am also very articulate now."
"Congratulations," gritted out Raelle.
"Thank you!" Cloe sent a flying kiss her way making Raelle scrunch up her face and seeing this, Xiang Wai and Mu Chenyan laughed out loud.
"Thank you!" Cloe sent a flying kiss her way making Raelle scrunch up her face and seeing this, Xiang Wai and Mu Chenyan laughed out loud.
"Okay, enough playing around," said Mu Chenyan. "Let's start now! Find your own rides and I wish you all the best!"
With 3, 2, and 1 they all rushed away. Raelle looked at Xiang Wai and Cloe hailing a car meanwhile Mu Chenyan patiently waited for a while before she stopped a delivery guy on the motorbike. Raelle couldn't listen to what she said or how she negotiated but the motorbike ended up with Mu Chenyan in the end and she wooshed away too.
Only Raelle was left standing where she was as if she was in no hurry but that wasn't true at all. She wasn't familiar with the city all too well so she first sat down to look at the map to see all the landmarks and how far apart they were. Finding the closest landmark, she stood up and walked to an elderly couple who were sitting close by. "Hello, do you have a minute?"
With that, Raelle started chatting with the old couple and found out about the intricate alleyway of the city which can reduce the travel time. Raelle was happy with her findings and immediately went to scan the code of the bicycle to ride it away. She followed the instructions she got from the elderly couple and because of her good memory, she didn't get lost in the maze of these alleys. In fact, she appeared at her first landmark within five minutes.
She happily stopped in front of the angel fountain and rubbed her nose thinking about the pose she had to make. She held up the phone to take a selfie with one hand while her other hand curled up like a cat paw with her lips pouted, she clicked the photo and didn't even look at how it turned out.
Raelle would never be able to understand why people seemed to love these poses. Just like this, she leisurely traveled on the bicycle around all the landmarks clicking photos with the help of kind-hearted strangers too.
It had been a while since she learned to bicycle and never really needed this skill, thankfully, she was athletic and used to exercising regularly too. So, it wasn't difficult to ride around all on her own at this time, she didn't even feel tired. After reaching the final destination, she sat inside a cafe to order herself an iced tea because it was too hot outside and she was sweating badly. That was the only bad thing about this whole activity. Why couldn't it get cloudy or windy? Since she was the only one here yet, it was obvious that she won and Raelle was very happy about it too. Her brain went haywire for a moment and she actually clicked a photo of her iced tea and posted it on Moments with the caption, 'Victory feels good with iced tea.'
Almost instantly the first person who liked the post was Shui Xian as if he was camping on her Moments and even commented, "As always! My wife is the best!"
Hyson: "Xian Ge, it's enough for her to show off her win, why are you fanning the flames here? Isn't she conceited enough?" n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Xian: "Go away! Who asked you to speak bad about my wife? Do you want a fight?"
