Chapter 1318 Learn So Much
1318 Learn So Much
Actually, what Shui Xian didn't mention was that he had way too many embarrassing childhood stories on record. Because his mother loved to record and both his parents loved to see him make a fool of himself. They really bullied the poor kid too much.
And yes, he left ice skating mostly because of that embarrassing experience his parents put him through. Because one of his friends found out about it from his cousins and made fun of him. They kept teasing him and he got distracted which resulted in getting injured. He took the chance to withdraw from the ice skating team. He was young and didn't want to deal with everyone teasing him.
Seeing how he didn't want to speak about it anymore, Raelle chose not to ask him anything else. All of them had their quick late lunch and then started observing their surroundings. "Raelle, you sit with Justin over there and do something to pass the time," said Xiang Weimin. "I and Xian will go to catch some fish. Fai and Wai are going for the treasure hunt."
"There is no treasure!" shouted Xiang Wai.
"It might not be what you think but I assure you, there is some treasure around here. And if you don't find it, what will we eat?" asked Hyson.
"Are we hunting?"
"No," replied Hyson. "We are hunting for our dinner ingredients."
"Huh?" Xiang Wai was confused but seeing her brother shooing her away, she had to follow Hyson. But before leaving, she looked at Raelle and Justin saying, "You both should also help."
"With what?" asked Justin.
"You can at least collect some firewood," said Xiang Wai.
"Wai, go already," said Xiang Weimin. "We don't actually need firewood. We have the camping stove here."
Xiang Wai gave her brother a hard stare, "What kind of an adventure it is when everything is so convenient?"
"Come with me on this wild adventure," Hyson pulled her along and left into the forest.
Xiang Weimin and Shui Xian also went towards the stream. "Do we have fishing rods?" asked Shui Xian.
"That would take too much time," said Xiang Weimin. "Let me find a stick."
"You're not gonna spear the fish, right?"
"Uhuh," came Xiang Weimin's response.
"Can you do it?"
"I am very good at it," replied Xiang Weimin. "Why do you just watch and learn?"
"Okay," agreed Shui Xian happily, and even helped him find an appropriate stick too. They sharpened one end of the wooden stick with Xiang Weimin's pocket knife. Soon, he rolled up his pants up to his knees and went down the stream. Shui Xian stayed on the shore with the bucket to catch the fish.
Seeing how Xiang Weimin managed to spear the first fish so soon, Shui Xian gave him an appreciative look, and even Justin clapped from his position.
"Daddy is awesome!"
"You're very excited," commented Raelle.
Justin looked at his little aunt and said, "I also think I have been a lot excited these days. I didn't even like to talk much before. Now, I have a lot to say."
"You mean, you have a lot of questions now?" Justin smiled sheepishly and nodded his head. "My doctor said that it's because of the environment and people surrounding me that's helping me come out of the shell. I don't even have nightmares anymore."
Raelle listened to him sharing small details and listened attentively.
"That's great. My little buddy is becoming cuter."
Justin sighed like an adult and said, "But I'm worried about my mom too."
"Why? What happened to Tang Hebe?"
"I asked her to come and join us on this trip but she refused and told me to spend time with my dad and have fun. I am feeling guilty that she must be lonely back there."
"You are so tiny and already have so many worries?" asked Raelle. "Don't put so much pressure on your little brain. Your mom is an adult. She can make her own choices. And if she made the choice to let you come alone, it means she thought it was the right choice. You don't have to worry about her so much. She isn't as lonely as you think. She had plenty of friends who cared about her. It's just that in the past few years, she was always around you so she didn't get to stay close to those friends."
"I really brought her a lot of trouble," commented Justin.
"Yes," replied Raelle honestly. "But you also brought her more happiness. Have you noticed how your mother has started smiling a lot more these days?"
Justin thought about it and nodded his head, "Yes. When she saw me getting better, she was so excited she even cried."
"Then I don't have to explain to you how much she loves you, right?"
"I know," he replied.
"Then be nice to her in the future," said Raelle. "I'll always be nice to her. I'll be nice to you too because I like my little aunt very much."
"No need to flatter me."
"Kids don't lie."
"Really? I didn't know that," teased Raelle. Justin puffed up his cheeks and Raelle poked his cheeks with her finger. "Did you learn to do this from your Uncle Fai?" Justin nodded his head. "Don't learn bad things from him."
Justin giggled and said seriously, "I also want to learn a lot from you."
"For instance?"
"Horseback riding," replied Justin.
Raelle stared at him seriously, "Horseback riding?"
"Yes. I heard you are very good at it. Oh, and you have awesome archery skills too. I wanna learn it all."
"Why do you have so many interests? You want to learn so many things."
"I didn't know the world had so many interesting things outside my room and garden."
Raelle could actually resonate with those words as she said in a small voice, "Indeed. I didn't know either." At least, not until Hyson came into her life. It's just that even after seeing so many interesting things, her interest wasn't very high. So, she did only what she felt like doing and nothing more.
