Master Of Myths

Chapter 244 - Mission Failed

After the fight Ellis was guided to a spacious room where weird chilling plants grew, numbing her wounds just by being present

"Feeling better? I hope Yi cause you no serious injury"

Spoke Yityi while making his way inside the room one small hop after the other

"Nothing I can't handle, he did hold back on using any skills there after all, I am unsure if I would have won otherwise"

"Well, to be fair you also did not fight to the best of your capability, your race seems weak physically, at least compare to ours, I am sure you have the weapons to compensate for that"

He looked at her tiny bruised hands and frowned in memory of the aura coating them

"Especially…If you could coat your weapon with that hidden poison you applied through the illusion"

The process of this simple trick was all too clear to his eyes, not that it belittled the poison's potency, on the contrary, just the small amount that she managed to seep into Yi's body downed the yeti, if directly applied? A dangerous tool for sure

"It is not something I have fully mastered yet"

She admitted, that lethal death poison that was really the purple blood acquired from the swamp could actually be put to use by mimicking it through an illusion, so it wasn't real, if it was then Yi wouldn't be knocked out cold, he would be outright dead

"With time I am sure you would prove to be quite the force to be reckoned with, I believe that makes you one of the cream of the crop in your race?"

Ellis nodded her head to which Yityi shook his in dismal

"Then your offer stands to benefit me not, a race this week could not hope to lend me a hand if I ever need one"

"Our race won't, yet, but the alliance as a whole can more than aid the Frozen Sanctuary"

"How strong are the other races then?"

"Enough to quash me with a punch"

"That is such a wide general estimation, if I don't meet them then I cannot determine their prowess if I do not meet them"

Ellis frowned at how difficult Yityi was being, then again they were the solitary type of race so she needed to be more convincing, perhaps strike at his blind points since she knew the really strong ones like the generals of Hortus wouldn't budge from their tower

"Power levels aside you will need others to watch your sanctuary, this stronghold might stave off most attacks but to some, like my Master, it would be a piece of cake to infiltrate your midst, coupled with hidden attacks like mine it would put everything you are trying to protect at risk"

She found that her explanation was sound enough, at least until the ball shook in laughter

"Haha, your still a little wet behind the ears young one, I keep an eye on everything here, from the moment you stepped foot on our mountain to the second you arrived at the door you were under m surveillance, otherwise you would have never climbed up to here"

She frowned in confusion, did he have some sort of divination skill or drones like Latvia's? Thankfully he shed light on the matter instantly

"You see everything that makes up this mountain s governed by me, something you ought to know since…its all made from my aura"

"!!"

Her eyes went wide in shock, only now did Ellis truly understand why this yeti was so confident, the blizzard, the snow, all of that was the result of an aura, and it seemed so natural that she, an Aura Master, didn't even catch onto

"Your welcome to continue your stay here if you wish, the matter of alliance however you musn't bring up again"

With that the powerful ball of fur hopped away to attend to his own matters

'....Did I fail my mission? How do I explain this to Master….'

Denied from even bringing up the matter again Ellis stood conflicted at her next course of action, report the result or sit tight and wait for an opportunity to pitch in some more thoughts? What a dilemma indeed

......…

"What's taking them so long"

On the other side of the human land YuJu was having his own difficulties, forced to sit in his own mansion and enjoy some rinea, wasting away at valuable time

"What are we waiting for Master?"

Questioned Subrina after holding the question in for a few days, it had been a while since they arrived at Hortus, probably before any of the other's arrived at their destination, yet the two did nothing but lounge in the mansion

"Waiting for Aminta to call in another one of her meetings, Mia is going to need the seed to finish her end of the deal and I must introduce Ephai to them in preparation for our return trip"

"Cant we ask her to start one early?"

"No, I want them to go in as blind as possible"

"Why"

"The less they know the more likely it would fly over Genus Insania' head that I am in control of all factions known to them in humanity,  that way it would paint the image of our race having multiple big shots, further preventing them from taking any action"

Though he explained he felt Subrina looked as confused as ever, which reminded him that she knew nothing of the happenings at Hortus

"Just take it as me playing some mind games with our enemies"

"I believe Master will succeed in fooling them"

"I hope I will" 'Otherwise the Gacha race would be the last of our worries'

He added in his mind, not wanting to worry the little maid over matter outside her control

Right at the end of this short conversation the shadow maid popped into their vision, nodding toward him in a confirming manner

"About time we began"

Now that the meeting was finally held he sipped the rest of his cup and got up, then entered stealth, ready for another dramatic entrance to the meeting hall he ever so loved shocking
