Chapter 31: Cerebro
Chapter 31: Cerebro
"It truly is a chaotic mess of memories."
Bi Xiao did not access the memories of Deathstrike, primarily because they were too disordered, evidently fragmented and scrambled due to brainwashing, with the new memories imposed by the brainwashing suppressing the chaotic ones.
This was also why the woman obeyed Stryker's commands.
He was not interested in her, nor did he bother to spend time helping her sort out her memories. He brutally sealed her mind completely, and she immediately became a walking corpse like Stryker.
"GOGOGO, help me move this stuff; I did pay you after all."
Bi Xiao clapped his hands, directing his attention to the already solidified adamantium in the large pool in front of him.
Adamantium was indeed an excellent metal on Earth, but unfortunately, the only stock was here. After Stryker used adamantium for injections in Logan and Deathstrike, there was no suitable use left for it.
It was okay for crafting cold weapons, but not many could use it; the only one who could really brandish an adamantium katana was the foul-mouthed Deadpool.
Nobody else really needed it.
Using adamantium for firearms was a waste, though Stryker made some bullets with it, which he then gave to Wolverine, Logan.
Artificial adamantium would be preferable, making its position awkward and leading Stryker to neglect it, leaving this lab awaiting a new owner, perhaps to create a new Wolverine or Deathstrike.
Under his command, the mutants obediently lifted a large chunk of adamantium; the little 'radishes' were just for show, but among them was a chubby mutant with significant strength, able to lift several tons of adamantium.
Bi Xiao did not help, just led the way and placed the adamantium on a transport truck inside the base.
When he was in the control room of the spillway channel, he had already opened it. Bi Xiao remembered Stryker had a son, not yet brought to the base, and he knew the location but was too lazy to search.
He let the mutants into the back of the truck, also bringing along some food, water, and blankets. Surprisingly, the woman known as Deathstrike, although her mind was sealed, seemed to follow instinctively.
Bi Xiao did not stop her.
He drove with the mutants to his Ford SUV, letting one of the mutants who could drive take the wheel, following the transport truck to a deserted small house nearby.
He instructed the mutants to move the food and blankets into the small house.
Then he told the group of mutants, "It won't be long before someone will take you away. There you can survive."
After saying this, he ignored the reluctant looks of the mutants, moved the adamantium to the Ford SUV, and chose to leave.
His kindness was limited to that extent.
He drove to Alberta City and found a small internet café. Using a computer, he easily found information on Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, including their contact phone number and email address.
He sent a message to them via the email address, then left.
As for the adamantium, he had it shipped to New York through a forwarding company. He used a broker to disguise the shipment; otherwise, the material, being considered strategic, might have been seized.
The cost was high, almost depleting his limited assets, but Bi Xiao did not care.
After all, he already knew about Stryker's private wealth from his memories.
His private account still had over ten million USD. This old man had embezzled quite a bit of money through military reimbursements, otherwise, he could not have privately built a dam base.
Maintaining its operation and daily expenses cost a significant sum.
Of course, this money all went to Bi Xiao; the ten million USD could be easily transferred out through the account password, not a complicated operation.
Additionally, Bi Xiao increasingly wanted to study magic; not having a storage space made many things difficult.
The trip to Canada was perfect; Bi Xiao was in a good mood, having gotten the money, punished Stryker, and saved people, giving him personal satisfaction.
Afterward, Bi Xiao did not rush back to New York but toured Alberta a bit, taking the opportunity to transfer Stryker's money to his own account.
This kind of operation could not withstand scrutiny, but whether the military would investigate a madman was unclear, and even if they did, who knew how long it would take?
By then, he would have spent the money clean, and he would not care.
Now his strength allowed him to no longer keep a low profile.
In contrast, his email caught the attention of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
Inside the school corridor, Jean hurried to the principal's office to find Principal Charles. It was daytime, sunny, and bright, with sunlight warmly streaming into the office through the window behind the professor.
At that moment, Professor Charles was seated in his wheelchair teaching a group of students, but when he noticed Jean's arrival, he gently said to the students, "Today's class ends here; I hope you have gained something from it."
"Class dismissed."
"Goodbye, Professor."
The students politely said goodbye and greeted Jean, who warmly responded. After the students left, she approached Professor Charles.
"Professor, a few minutes ago, someone sent an email to our inbox."
"The content mentioned that there is a group of rescued mutants about three kilometers southwest of Alkali Lake in Alberta, Canada. They are still in danger."
The professor's eyes flashed, and then he said, "Let's go; I need to confirm their location."
Jean knew exactly what the professor meant, and she immediately pushed him to the school's most secretive place, where a brainwave amplifier built with the help of Magneto was located.
There, the professor could use the brainwave amplifier to strengthen his mental powers and sense the minds of people all around the world.
