Manaless Mage

Chapter 152 Insane Power Of The Elites!

The audience were also left agape, as they stared with widened eyes what they could only describe as both scary and amazing.

The unfortunate Elementalists at the receiving end of Wes's place instinctively tried to balance themselves in the air, however, they failed miserably as the gravity immediately took its toll on their bodies, causing them to fall face-flat against the hard and rough surface of the earth pillars.

Thwack!!

Due to the force at which they fell, some of them sustained broken bones and fractures, rendering them unable to get back on their feet.

Leah slowly stood up, while holding unto the side of the stomach. As if things couldn't get any worse, she had to have landed right on her side, causing the wound that she had already close up a little to re-open all over again.

She looked around, and her face morphed into a deep frown when she noticed that apart from her, only one of her teammates was able to get back on his feet.

It was the stage two Elementalists who remained in their domain earlier, compared to the rest, he was fortunate enough to have reacted quicker, using the help of a tier one spell to reduce the impact, thereby avoiding serious injuries.

Just then, her eyes locked on Wes, who had a strange smirk plastered on his face and chills ran down her spine.

He still had both of his hands raised, and despite the beads of sweat rolling down his face, he still managed to retain that evil smirk on his lips.

'Let's see if you still remain so confident after this!' Wes thought to himself. The spell he was currently using was a tier 3 spell, and it was quite taxing on his mana core.

In order to keep upholding the earth pillars, he had to channel mana into it continuously or they would all collapse to the ground, something which was quite difficult to do, even for him.

But seeing the look of helplessness on the faces of his opponents, made him feel like the stress was worth it.

And it wasn't as if he was incapable of holding it up, even though it was quite difficult, it wasn't impossible for him.

When she saw the weird sinister smirk on Wes's face, Leah realized that her and her teammates were in serious trouble.

Just then, Wes pulled his hands downwards, as if he was trying to drag the air itself.

And following his hands movements, all the pillars immediately started sinking back into the ground with rapid speed.

'Shit, this is bad. I have to—' However, before she could even complete her thought, the pillars on which they were standing on suddenly sunk back into the ground with rapid speed, causing them to lose their footing once more.

"Arrrrgg!" The members of her team kept screaming as their body started falling to the ground.

The sudden pull of gravity, coupled with the loss of their ground, caused their injuries to worsen, and it throbbed with pain.

A few of them tried to channel their elemental mana, but due to the free fall, they weren't able to concentrate on their mana core, thereby failing to channel their mana.

As if their situation couldn't get any worse, another surge of mana exploded from Wes's body once again, as he started chanting another set of incantations.

"Water Arrows!" Wes shouted, and then stretched his hands forward. Immediately, twenty long arrows made purely of water materialized in front of his hands, before shooting towards the members of team 32 at rapid speed.

Swoosh!

Swoosh!

Swoosh!

The water arrows sliced through the air at astonishing speed, rapidly closing in on the Elementalists.

Within the blink of an eye, the arrows closed in on the Elementalists, piercing their chest, arms and different parts of their bodies.

A few of the arrows missed, flying for a few seconds, before vanishing into tiny blue particles.

Fortunately for them, Wes didn't target them in any life-threatening area, so despite them being pierced by the arrows, none of them lost their lives or sustained any serious injuries.

The eyes of most of the audience widened, shocked at the power displayed by Wes.

Even though they had already witnessed the insane power of the top ten students many times before, they still couldn't help but be amazed each time.

The ones who felt that they stood a chance against the elites, had their hopes crumpled. No matter how they tried to think about it, they couldn't see how they were supposed to stand against such insane power.

THWACK!

The bodies of the Elementalists hit the ground with full force, some of them bruising their nose, and some even fracturing more bones, with their already terrible injuries worsening even more.

That was the last straw for them, as they all finally lost consciousness, unable to hold the pain any longer, except Leah, who still somehow managed to retain a bit of her consciousness.

Leah grunted in pain, as she tried to hold back the stinging pain assaulting her from the side of her abdomen.

There were also two small holes on her legs, and also one on her left arm, from which blood was oozing from.

Three arrows had pierced her, and even though the water arrows had long disappeared into tiny blue particles, the injuries still remained, stinging with pain.

The one that was still hurting her the most, was the one at her side. Even though she was able to close it open before, it had fully re-opened once more, and the wound had even worsened.

'It really wasn't supposed to go like this… so unfair…' She thought to herself, with tears streaming down her eyes from the pain.

Their original plan had been to run off in different directions, in order to confuse Wes. They also wanted to avoid a situation where they would all be knocked out at once, in case Wes decided to take the same route as Trent. and also to avoid them all getting knocked out in case he decided to act like Trent and launch numerous or darts at them.

The plan seemed like it was going well at first, and it even seemed like they might have a chance at winning, but everything changed when Wes decided to stop playing around and started taking them serious.

It was then she realized that they never stood a chance against him in the first place, as he was simply able to overwhelm them with the sheer pressure of his mana.

'I guess regular Elementalists can't just stand against elites…' Leah mumbled inwardly, her consciousness finally slipping away.

The last thing she saw right before the closed her eyes, was the smile on Wes's face widening, and him mumbling some words she couldn't make out of.

"Hahaha… At least now you know the difference between our strength." Wes muttered, with a wide smile on his face.

Despite the strong facade he was putting up, there were still beads of sweat rolling down his face, and even the back of his uniform was drenched in sweat.

He looked back at his supposed teammates, who immediately shrunk backwards in fear, and then hissed, thinking of how he should have chosen better teammates.

The competition was supposed to be about he and his team, but they were just useless during the fight, causing him to do everything on his own.

'It doesn't really matter anyway, I already won. But I would still teach them a lesson, let's just wait.' Wes thought, while the Elementalists who were behind him shivered in fear for some unknown reason.

"Earth Glide." He muttered, casting another spell.

Immediately, two large lumps of earth covered his feet and connected it to the ground, using this as a balance, he started gliding towards Team 32's domain.

Unlike other elements, the earth element didn't have any speed-boost spells, and the only way to increase their speed was to either glide through the earth or become one with it itself; the latter is only possible for earth mages.

It was why the earth element was referred to as the "un-coolest element" by young Elementalists.

However, while it might not be as efficient as speed-boost spells, the gliding spell was still very efficient for increasing movement speed and agility.

His gaze lingered on the unconscious figure of a certain purple haired girl as he glided past her, strange expressions flashing through his eyes.

Within a few seconds, he reached their domain, he then uprooted the flag and moved it to his own domain. Without wasting any time, he planted the flag in his own domain, right beside his own team's flag.

[And now we have our winner! Team 28!]

[The fight…]

The commentator went on and on, describing the competition and taking about how interesting it was.

The female instructor who was responsible for healing the injured ones came unto the stage once more, and casted a healing spell to treat their injuries.
