Chapter 35: Whereabouts Of The Blood Serpent Clan
Chapter 35: Whereabouts Of The Blood Serpent Clan
"Hmp!!" Arian looked annoyed, while walking down the market streets. The spells had burned a massive hole in her wallet, all because of Leon.
He didn't even let her bargain, he just took it and asked her to pay. It was frustrating.
"Wind snake....." meanwhile, Leon's eyes remained glued to the spell manual in his hand. He didn't really care that Arian had to pay so much for it, what he cared about was how he would learn the spells fast.
The Warlock race was able to use spells from other clans as long as it had the same attributes, so even though the old man didn't have any blood serpent spells the ones he had were okay.
What Leon needed to do now was to learn to use the spell before setting off.
But before he could do that, someone caught his eye.
"Listen to me!!! The heaven devourer is about to wake up, we have to leave this area immediately!!!"
"I saw it with my own eyes, it had eyes the size of small hills and fangs as sharp as blades. If it leaves the mountain, we will all die!!!"
On the side of the street, a man in his mid-40s stood ontop a bucket and spoke hysterically about his experiences inside the heaven devourer mountain range.
However, not a lot of people seemed to be paying attention to him. The little that did pay attention were just there to make jest of him.
They all believed that the man had a couple of screws loose...
Deep inside the mountain range.
A gigantic serpent with eyes as black as night slizzard through a tunnel network underneath the mountain range.
It was so big that it could barely fit inside the massive tunnel. But it didn't seem too bothered by the cramped space, it just went about its business like the situation was normal.
About 100 m behind the snake's tail, 4 carriages followed slowly behind doing their best not to alert it.
"This is too dangerous, isn't it? What if it notices us?" In front of the carriages a young man complained.
It had been a week now, and they had been following this serpent through the tunnel networks. They had gotten lost, but then they found this gigantic creature, so they followed it hoping it knew the way out.
Unfortunately, it didn't seem to, and they had been stock following it since then. They couldn't go back for fear of getting more lost, and they could pass by it as it was too big.
"Shhh, that's not our call. You better keep your mouth shut before the clan leader hears you" Beside the young man a guard retorted, meanwhile looking at the carriage behind them with some caution.
On top of the carriage was a beautiful brunette in leather amour with eyes as fierce as a monster.
This lady was Liana, the current clan leader of the blood serpent clan...that's right, these guys were the members of the blood serpent clan. At least all that was left of them.
They already made it to the heaven devourer mountain range but had gotten 'lost' now they were stuck going in circles.

A day later, at the hunter encampment next to the heaven devourer mountain range.
Leon sat on the floor of the carriage with his eyes closed. He seemed to be absorbing mana.
Mana could generally be used by any race. But different races would typically use it for different reasons.
One prime example was the Warlocks use of mana. They would usually use it for causal attacks. But when the fighting really becomes desperate they would use life energy as their spells were more inclined towards life energy.
"Blood Serpent work: Wind Snake Arrow"
Leon muttered under his breath. Following this, an ethereal snake formed beside him in the middle of air. It had a pair of wings and a head straight as an arrow ready to pierce through its target.
It didn't stay so for long though, as it quickly began fading into non-existence.
"Huuuu" Leon blew out a breath of hot air when this happened. Learning how to use warlock spells was not as easy as he predicted. It took him a whole day to materialize one wind snake.
He was Uncertain about the duration required for to make more wind snakes, let alone employing them in battle, Leon found himself facing a challenge in gauging the timeline for both creation and practical implementation in battle.
(If only I could use negative energy attacks.
.)
Leon thought in his mind. Actually, this wasn't impossible, only to use negative energy properly he had to fulfil certain prerequisites. Sadly, he couldn't fulfil them right now.

While Leon was in deep thought, Arian opened the door to the carriage and stepped inside.
"How did it go?" Leon looked over at Arians figure and inquired.
They had called Arian and a few other level two magic users over to see the commander, Alaric. Naturally, Leon quickly came to the conclusion that something was about to happen.
"It's confirmed, there was a large group of blood serpent Warlocks that forced their way into the mountain range's entrance. The plan is to split into several teams and enter the range...."
Commander Alaric had killed and captured most of the members of the blood serpent clan, and he knew that there was no one left as powerful to force their way into the mountain range than the leader of the blood serpent clan Liana.
"You should get some sleep tomorrow is going to be hard" Arian looked at Leon's serious expression and advised.
There were about to enter a very serious hunt for his clans men. He needed all the sleep he could get.
