Lunar Supremacy: The Original Alpha

Chapter 39 CH: 39

After the sun disappeared below the horizon, the duo decided to rest and recharge. While Debbie unpacked a simple yet satisfying meal of pork and beans, Vincent opted for some dried meat to replenish his energy. He needed more food because of his endless appetite.

As they sat and ate, they gazed up at the night sky. The lack of city lights allowed for an unobstructed view of the stars, their brilliance shining down upon the duo like a blanket of light. It was a sight that took their breath away, reminding them of the true beauty of nature and the power it held. For a moment, they were content to simply exist in this space, at peace with the world around them.

But Vincent's mind suddenly raced with a mix of emotions - excitement, fear, and uncertainty. It was as if he was caught in a whirlwind of emotions that he couldn't quite comprehend.

Being in the wild made him contemplate about his life.

He had accepted his newfound power so quickly, almost too easily, but deep down he knew there was more to it. There was a part of him that yearned for something more, a desire for even greater strength and power, but why ?

"Do you think I'm strong enough?" Vincent's voice was tinged with doubt as he turned to Debbie, his expression troubled.

"You're stronger than any werewolf I've ever met, that's for sure," she replied, studying him intently.

"Then why do I feel so afraid?" he admitted, his eyes clouded with uncertainty.

"Of what? The government?" Debbie's voice was laced with concern.

"I don't know, but there's this feeling deep down, a nagging sense of fear that won't go away."

"We'll figure it out together. Whatever it is, we'll face it head on." her eyes narrowed in concern. She began truly treating Vincent as a close friend.

"Thanks " Vincent grinned at her, grateful for her guidance and support throughout their journey so far.

"I gotta admit, I'd be totally lost without you. It's like we were meant to cross paths," he chuckled, clearly trying to lighten up the mood with a joke.

But Debbie's expression grew serious, and she shook her head.

"I don't believe in coincidence, I think we're fated to meet each other." she said firmly.

"What do you mean?" he furrowed his brow.

"I haven't shared this with you before because we weren't close enough. But I think it's time you know," she said, her voice lowering.

"You've probably noticed, but I'm not really a witch. I can't use any curses or charms," she admitted with a disappointed smile. She was always insecure with this fact but she felt that she could be honest with him now.

Vincent's eyes widened in surprise. "I just thought you were hiding your abilities," he said, feeling a little foolish.

"It's typical of you " Debbie chuckled

"But here's the truth: I have a twin sister. And my sister is one of the most powerful witches in the United States. She's not someone you want to mess with." she warned.

He couldn't help but feel a shiver run down his spine. He could sense from the seriousness in Debbie's voice and the rapid thumping of her heart that she was not joking. Her twin sister sounded like someone to be feared, even by supernatural beings.

"Sounds like your sister is someone I should avoid ," he said, scratching his head.

"Yeah, promise me to never mess with her. She's really powerful. I'm telling you this because I have a feeling that you two will meet someday" Debbie sighed

"Alright " he replied with a smile. He would be dumb to find trouble with someone who has the title of "most powerful"

"Good, let's get back to the topic," she said, her voice was firm.

"My sister believes that I don't have any supernatural powers, but I don't think that's true," she continued.

Vincent leaned in, intrigued. "What do you mean?"

Debbie paused, searching for the right words.

"I have this intuition. When I walk by my campus, I feel like it's calling out to me. At first, I thought I was imagining things, but now I understand. I think my intuition led me to enroll there so that I could meet you someday."

Vincent was taken aback. It was a lot to process, but then he reminded himself that he was a werewolf. If he could transform into a wolf, was it so hard to believe that someone could have super intuition?

"Do you believe me ?" she asked with an embarrassed look.

"Well, considering the fact that I became a werewolf after waking up in a coma, who am I to say that you're wrong?" he replied with a chuckle.

Debbie looked relieved, a smile spreading across her face. "Thank you for believing me," she said gratefully.

Of course, we're in this together, right?" Vincent replied with a wide smile. He now considered Debbie as one of his closest friends, second only to Nathan.

As their conversation ended, they gathered their gear and prepared to resume their journey.

"Better step back," he spoke with a firm tone, ready to unleash his full werewolf transformation. He had discovered that the medallion had given him more control over his transformations, and he was eager to put it to the test.

Vincent felt the power surge through his veins as he closed his eyes and let out a low growl. He could feel the familiar tingle in his limbs as his bones began to shift and rearrange themselves. His muscles bulged and his skin sprouted thick, black fur, as his body expanded and took on the shape of a massive wolf.

The medallion on his chest glowed brightly as the transformation completed, and he let out a triumphant howl, feeling more powerful and alive than he ever had before. However, he couldn't ignore the primal urges that came with this form, the instinctual desire to hunt and feed on human flesh. Fortunately, the next full moon was still far away, giving him time to maintain control..

"Get...on," he growled with a deep, gravelly voice that sounded more wolf than human. It was barely understandable.
