Chapter 725 - 725 Your House is Quite Close
725 Your House is Quite Close
Straightening his back, Fu Chen then reported his address to Bai Qi.
The moment Bai Qi heard the address, the look on his face shifted slightly. Bai Qi could not help thinking that he was quite familiar with the area Fu Chen was living in.
“Your house is quite close to ours,” Bai Qi commented.
Bai Xi Xi could not help thinking that there was something strange in her brother’s tone of voice. Then, she took the initiative to explain, “Mmm... Fu Chen lives in the same neighborhood as ours. His house was nearby the park.”
“Yes, that’s right,” Fu Chen added in.
Bai Qi pursed his lips as he let this new information sink into his mind. An uncomfortable feeling arose in his heart. It was something that he could not understand that much.
After a brief silence, Bai Qi glanced at his sister again and saw that she was looking at her injured ankle. It was then that he remembered an important question he needed to ask.
“Xi Xi, are you not going to tell me how you get injured?”
Bai Xi Xi looked back at her brother with an innocent look on her face. She had hoped that her brother would forget about this matter. Why did he still remember this?
.....
“Brother, I already told you... I wasn’t careful enough and injured myself.”
Bai Qi heaved a sigh knowing that his sister still did not want to tell him what happened. He glanced at the rear mirror and looked at Fu Chen. “Fu Chen. Do you know what happened?”
He figured that since Fu Chen had carried his little sister to the infirmary, he should be closed when his sister was injured.
“Mmm... A student wanted to make trouble with another. Class Monitor happened to be close by and fell as the student pushed his friend away,” Fu Chen touched the tip of his nose as he looked at Bai Qi.
From the corner of his eyes, Fu Chen could see that Bai Xi Xi was staring at him with a warning gaze.
His instinct was to tell him that Bai Xi Xi did not want her brother to know the truth about her fall. Moreover, Fu Chen wouldn’t know how to explain to Bai Qi about the basketball match. His words... would not be considered a lie, right?
Bai Qi wanted to observe Fu Chen’s expression for a while longer. However, he was driving and had to concentrate on his driving.
“Doctor Bai, I also heard from our classmates that the troublemakers were punished by the teachers for causing injury,” Fu Chen continued.
“Is that so?” Bai Qi nodded. He was glad that the person who caused injury to his sister was punished by the teacher.
Bai Xi Xi glanced at Fu Chen again. She was glad that Fu Chen only tell her brother half of the truth. While her brother was concentrating on his driving, Bai Xi Xi turned to look at Fu Chen and flashed him a smile.
She did not mind if her brother knew about her playing basketball to help Fu Chen. But, she just did not want to make her brother worry about her as he was quite busy.
Yang Xu already received his punishment. This was already good enough.
After driving for a while, the car finally reached the parking area.
As Fu Chen lived in a gated community, Bai Qi could only park outside the area and let him walk back to his house. Fortunately, Fu Chen’s house was not too far away from the guards’ cottage.
After thanking Fu Chen again for helping his sister, Bai Qi finally drove his car away.
Fu Chen stood at the roadside until he could no longer see the car. Only then did he walk into the housing area?
The journey from Fu Chen’s housing area to their house was not too far away. In just a few minutes, they already arrived at their destination.
Once the car entered the parking spot, Bai Qi could already see his wife walking out of the house with an anxious look on her face.
Zhang Li Xue walked over to the passenger’s seat hastily. When Bai Xi Xi pushed the door open, Zhang Li Xue quickly looked the teenage girl up and down to check on her injury. “Xi Xi, are you alright?”
Bai Xi Xi had a helpless look on her face when she saw her sister-in-law appearing.
She only told her brother about her injury. But it seemed that her brother had told her sister-in-law about it as well. Looking at the worried expression on Zhang Li Xue’s face made her feel guilty.
Her sister-in-law was supposed to be at the office, wasn’t she?
“Sister-in-law, why are you at home too?”
“I heard that you were injured. Of course, I have to come back and take a look.” Zhang Li Xue’s eyes were still on Bai Xi Xi’s legs.
Previously, she had hurt her legs a few times. Therefore, Zhang Li Xue would understand how difficult it is not to be able to move around. Hearing that Bai Xi Xi fell and injured her legs made her worry.
“Alright. Quickly tell me, what happened,” Zhang Li Xue spoke. “Which leg is injured? Xi Xi, is it painful? How did you get injured?”
Bai Xi Xi had a small smile on her face. Her heart warmed with her sister-in-law’s concern. Her sister-in-law was even more worried than her brother.
“Sister-in-law, I’m fine,” Bai Xi Xi said. “The nurse said it was not something serious. I already pressed the injured area with a bag of ice. It should be alright after resting for a few days.”
Zhang Li Xue obviously did not believe in Bai Xi Xi’s words. She looked at her husband with an inquiring look in her eyes. “Really?”
“It’s true.” Bai Qi coughed. “I already check her injury. It should be nothing.” Bai Qi turned to his sister and continued, “But Xi Xi, you still have to tell us if your legs started to hurt, alright?”
Bai Xi Xi nodded. “Brother, I know. I’ll let you know if there’s anything.”
