Lord of the Karmic Fate

Chapter 147 Forsaken Island

----------------

• Current Chances for the boulder to fall on the beast: 21.77% (Max: 100%)

• Available Luck Energy to manipulate: 204%

• Needed Mystique to activate Luck Enhancement: 24,000 units

----------------

'What!?'

Raven's eyes bulged out of their sockets when he saw the panel floating a few meters above the beast, seemingly trying to guess whether what he was seeing was real or just a hallucination.

However, it was not a hallucination nor was his mind playing tricks, the panel did show what it did.

'This is just ridiculous...'

First of all, the very thing Raven noticed was his Luck Energy which before they entered the Realm Domain was only at a little above 100%, 104% to be precise.

His Fortune's Coin increased his Luck Energy by a total of 100%!

This meant even if his Luck Energy was currently at 0% if he used his Artifact and landed on its light side he will have 100% of Luck Energy in an instant.

That was just outrageous!

Furthermore, it seemed that it also decreased the amount of Mystique needed for his ability to be activated which was also crazy.

He could clearly remember how in the past he needed to use over 50,000 Mystique whenever his Luck Enhancement showed 20% chances, yet now, it was just a little over 20,000!

He didn't know whether his Fortune's Coin halved the amount of Mystique needed or just simply decrease by a few thousand, but he was sure the reduction was definitely above 15,000 or perhaps even 20,000!

'Though, wasting Luck Energy on this beast... Not worth it.' Raven thought silently and unsheathed his Celeste Blade, which just like his Traits or his Luck Enhancement got blessed also.

Now, instead of having a 10% chance of piercing through one's defense as easily as cutting through butter and a 5% chance to shatter it completely, he had a 20% and 15% chance which was a great boost!

'This way, I can spend less Mystique and Luck Energy to increase the chances.' Raven thought as he slightly bent his knees and raised his weapon.

Luckily, his Primordial Grade Rune Mark only activated if the enemy he fought had a higher Rank than him, so right now he didn't have to fear that his body would collapse from the massive amount of power it gained, especially now that he had an extra 50 points of boost for all of his Traits thanks to his second Artifact.

Just imagining how his muscles would get torn apart in that state just because he moved a little too fast made him feel a little fear toward the future where he had to fight stronger enemies.

'After I'm all done here I should focus on figuring a way to restrict my Rune Mark or else it will be the very reason why I die.'

After all, while it was not a problem for the human body to temporarily get used to newly gained strength if one jumped 5 or even 10 Ranks, it was a completely different story when that number was above 40!

Hell, if the body was not tempered bit by bit over time it will just collapse which could result in irreversible damage! It was like one was bench-pressing with 132 pounds, that was around 60 kilos, then suddenly that weight got doubled if not tripled!

It was no wonder the one under that weight would fail to push it out and even get injured, or worse, end up dying, getting crushed as the result!

'Yeah, I have to figure something out.' Raven thought silently as stomped on the ground.

Whoosh!

Swish!

With a momentum that was hard to follow with the naked eye, Raven vanished from his spot and after a second later he appeared beside the now headless beast.

[Congratulations! You have slain Rank 35 Color Shifting Lion!]

[Your Strength has increased by +2!]

'...'

Glancing at his Avatar Traits for a second Raven hummed silently and directed his gaze at the beast's corpse on the ground.

'Hmm... A Rank 35 beast died just like that.'

He could vividly remember how he struggled to fight against Paloma who was almost at Rank 20, yet here he was now, claiming the lives of creatures that were way above Rank 30!

Just under a little over a month, he came so far that he could hardly believe it. And he could still grow even more as he had yet to consume the 10 Mixed Avatar Flasks, which originally was 5 but got doubled by his Collector's Gloves hence why it was now 10!

The reason why he didn't use them was because of a very good reason.

Because Dinas told him he had yet to unearth his ability's full potential, and as Avatar Imprints were born from past achievements and the way one used their powers he wanted to make sure his fifth Avatar Imprint will grant him great powers!

Also, if his Rank and True Rank happened to all of a sudden jump numerous levels at the same time it could easily rise suspicions from those who learned about it.

It would especially raise several questions from the Realm Association as it was mandatory for everyone to undergo a minor test every few months where they checked their Rank.

It was necessary as this way the Realm Association not only could monitor everyone's growth but also fish out great potential before anyone else could.

Thinking about all this Raven sighed softly and shifted his gaze at Luna, who all this time did nothing but stared at him from the side with twinkling eyes.

"Which island keeps the strongest beast?"

"Huh? Um... There are a total of 3 islands that is the home to 5 Star beasts, but the beasts on them have been tamed not quite a long time ago."

"But didn't you just tell me before coming here that beasts appear nonstop until the Realm Core is not collected? So what if they have tamed them? Shouldn't another few appear?" Raven asked with a raised brow.

"That is true. However, the appearance of 5 Star beasts requires more time than those below them. We have to wait at least a week or two."

Raven scowled softly before he sighed and asked, "So there are only 4 Star beasts?"

"I fear so..." Luna showed a bittersweet smile, then, as if she remembered something she placed a finger before her cherry lips and mumbled, "Or... Maybe we really can find a 5 Star beast."

"How?" Raven asked curiously.

Although his initial goal was to test out his second Artifact, now that he did try it out and saw what it was capable of doing he wished to explore this Domain and tame a beast, a strong one no less.

After all, having a fearsome creature alongside him that could assist him in battles both in Realm Domain and Realm Games was a huge advantage!

Luna, hearing Raven's question pointed her fingers toward the north and said, "At the very center of this Realm Domain, above the island that holds the Realm Core there is a weird island named the Forsaken Island."

"An island floating above another?" Raven raised a brow as he looked around, watching as every island around him while being several hundred meters away from one another floated on the same level.

None were higher or lower than the other much less were there any that floated above the other. Thus hearing that there was one like that, he felt a little surprised.

"Let me guess, the reason it is called the Forsaken Island is that no beast resides on it, right?" Raven asked.

"Not quite right." Luna shook her head and under Raven's puzzled look she continued to explain, "It had been named that way because beasts from time to time decide to start laying their nests on it only to be seen flee a few hours later in fear, almost as if they were chased by some dreadful abomination."

"However, whenever Rankers were tasked to examine the island, they always reported back that they have found nothing. Seemingly, the beasts just decide to abandon that island for no apparent reason."

"There must be a logical explanation for that." Raven frowned softly.

"Maybe, but so far no one figured out the reason." Luna shrugged before adding, "Though, if you want to find and tame a strong beast that is your best choice. The Forsaken Island is visited by all kinds of beasts from time to time, so I am sure you will find one to your liking even if it won't be a 5 Star beast."

"Seems promising. Let's check it out!" Raven nodded while he secretly wondered just what kind of unusual phenomenon or hidden terrifying abomination could horrify so many powerful beasts to the point where they literally are forced to run for their lives.

After all, according to Luna, even Rank 40 and a few 5 Star beasts had been seen escaping from the Forsaken Island despite many confirming that no creature was living on it!
