Chapter 31. The Knight Squad was Scared Away!

“Milord, what is that?” One of the knights within the group cried out.

It was because the tip of the golden armored knight’s greatsword had turned red!

“Magma!”

The golden armored knight said in a low voice.

Behind him, a few other knights unsheathed their swords.

They quickly removed a portion of the ash on the ground.

After removing the thick layer of ash which was around half a meter thick, the scene below was revealed.

Shockingly, beneath the ash was red hot lava!

“Milord, it’s the same over here!”

A knight who had run several hundred meters to one side shouted.

“Milord, it’s also the same over here!”

Another knight who ran several hundred meters to the other side yelled out.

“Milord, it looks like the entire area is covered in lava. But where did this lava come from? Could it be that there is a volcano underground?” One of the knights doubtfully said.

The golden armored knight flicked the lava off his sword and stared at the large piece of land in front of him.

This section of the area was extremely large.

It should be at least a kilometer long and several hundred meters wide.

However, the ground in this section was different from the others.

It looked extremely obvious because the color of the rock ash was very deep and was even lower than the ground next to it.

After further observation, they found out that the surrounding land was normal. Only this specific area was covered in lava!

Some of the knights had already attempted a few things. They discovered that the lava wasn’t particularly deep.

After some time, the temperature started dropping, the magma cooled down and slowly turned into a hardened rock.

This meant that there was no volcano below.

That’s right, it didn’t look like there was a volcano underneath them!

“Milord, did you notice anything?” A knight asked him.

The golden armored knight frowned while many possibilities flashed through his mind.

However, what was worrying was that every possibility he imagined was terrifying.

After a moment of silence, he spoke, “Even though I’m not a magus, my Divine Armor still managed to capture subtle magical fluctuations here.”

At this point, his voice suddenly became grave, “According to what I know, this might’ve been a battlefield. From the signs, this land was created by a magus’ magic attack!”

Magic!

The golden armored knight’s words caused a commotion among the group.

“Milord, with such a large area, what kind of magus can attack like this?!” One of the knights couldn’t believe this explanation.

Although they had participated in many wars, nearly none of them had seen such a high level of magic!

Even the most powerful temple mages in the kingdom might not be able to do something like this!

The large-scale magic that he had seen many mages cast together didn’t have such a wide area of impact, nor was it this powerful.

In an instant, the golden armored knight’s eyes suddenly widened as he thought of two words.

“A ‘Forbidden Spell’!” He quickly spat out the only possible explanation to it.

Upon hearing it, the entire knight squad exploded, they quickly chattered amongst themselves.

A Forbidden Spell!

These knights didn’t know all that much about the magician’s levels, this was especially so for the high-level magicians.

Most of them only knew that Sixth Rank Magicians were called Magi.

Then what was a Seventh Rank magician called?

They had no idea.

However, they all knew what a Forbidden Spell was.

In the stories of the legendary heroes on the continent, the word Forbidden Spell was always mentioned.

This represented supreme, terrifying, and destructive power.

Of course, they didn’t know what level the Forbidden Spell represented.

But they only needed to know that these two words were extremely terrifying.

For a moment, all of the knights backed away, afraid that the horrifying magus was still nearby.

“Don’t move forward! Let’s retreat! This is no longer a place that we can touch!” The knights immediately made a decision and started withdrawing from the area.

Even though they were unwilling to admit it, they had indeed been scared away!

In reality, they weren’t the only ones who were scared. When they brought this information back to the city, many people from the Human Kingdoms to the west of the Misty Mountains were frightened.

Because of the fire, some of the Human Kingdoms had started planning out things regarding the Orcish Kingdoms in the east.

But now, any semblance of an idea heading towards there was completely extinguished.

The first reason was that the miasma forest in the Misty Mountain Range hadn’t been completely burned away, even if they sent an army, they would still not be able to pass.

The second was that the information brought back by the knight squad was too shocking.

After all, when the flames were burning for a month, the Royal Family had also sent a large team of birds to check on the situation.

However, the small flock never returned.

With these two things combined, the information they received was enough to make the Human Kingdoms not dare to act rashly without knowing the truth!

Yes, that bird squad was indeed destroyed by Lin Yan.

The reason was very simple.

They tried to pee on a burning flames!

Of course, Lin Yan was the burning flame they wanted to piss on!

If they didn’t dare to do such a thing, he would have never incinerated them!
