Chapter 385: Battle of Sol -2
The battle scene after that whole coming back from dead surprise was very repetitive. The flying army was already half dead during Heath and snake's poison battle and hulking body falling down. As for the other half, it was cleaned off by Vanessa and Leon together.
This only left them vs Kurami. Who by now had died at least seven times in this battle yet came alive in seconds over and over again. And each time more powerful, and more trickier to deal with than last time.
Through this loop of a battle the students learned about how this demon Lord could copy one skill of the person who killed him. And how he could track and sense his killers no matter where they hide or what illusions or magic they use to trick him.
"Damn it, why is he not dying?"
"Is this dude fucking immortal or what?"
"There has to be some weakness to him right, maybe like cats he has nine lives."
"Yeah well, cats don't copy skills."
"Maybe we should just keep on killing him until whatever this weird op healing skill is, goes into cooldown."
"No, what if we're wrong. Cause if that's not true and we just blindly keep killing him, he'll only get more and more stronger."
"Then what do you suggest?"
"Well you better think of something fast, cause nearly everyone who survived the demons before, is now already getting caught in crossfire. If we don't do something sooner, he'll kill every rebel."
"Hey, Celia, you love magic right, don't you have any fancy trick to trap him or something?"
"He already copied my banshee magic, spirit sleep, I don't wanna give him my main skills and make the fight even harder."
"Not gonna lie, before today I didn't even know you were that good at fighting. Why didn't you show your talent at academy matches and all?"
"Cause my life wasn't on the line. And I prefer doing research in secret and silence more, instead of showing my spells in crowds for the world to see and forget in a few seconds."
"Wow, that would almost make us look like fools to you huh."
"Can we lure him away?"
"He has wisdom, you monkey. Why'd he fall for something stupid like that?"
"I told you not to call me that."
"But that's what Rio calls you. And I don't see you objecting then."
"Well, you're not Rio, are you? So just call me by my name."
"I wish he was here, he'd surely have a way to kill this guy for good."
"Humph, stop praising that narcissist, what he can do, we can do better."
"You know I still don't know what's your problem with him, you're always at his throat, even when he ignroes you like air."
"Shut up you monkey."
"Not you too."
Vanessa, Heath, Zirrix and Celia kept talking and arguing as they fought against Kurami.
While Leon walked up to the one person who might know what's actually going on with Kurami, his daughter, Kami, who was still lost in her traumatic experiences and shuddering in a corner whenever she heard her father's laughter.
Leon sat near Kami and held her trembling body in his arms, "Kami, I don't know what you've been through. I don't know what that monster must have done to you, to make you so afraid, but you're not alone now.
You have the rebels, people who willingly chose to follow you. People who called you the guide to their new life.
Those people, who trusted you, who believed in you, they're dying now.
My friends and I are trying to save them, but unless we kill that demon, it's not possible. So please can you help us save your people. Help us defeat him."
"You can't." Kami spoke in a hushed whisper as she looked up and saw her whole 'army' dead on ground. She thought if she had enough power, if she had enough man, maybe she wouldn't be afraid of her father, that maybe she'll finally be free of fear, yet now she knows it was all a lie. She's simply not capable herself.
And as those demons once said, she calls herself the guide, but where has she led her people, except a gruesome death and a nameless grave. It all meant nothing.
"You can't kill him. No one can. He'll always come back."
Hearing the given up coward's answer, a trace of annoyance flashed in Leon's eyes, before it got replaced by gentleness again. He fixed her hair and forced her to look into his eyes.
"Kami, did I tell you I was abandoned once, weak and helpless, bullied and hated by fate, just like you may feel now. But you know what, I never gave up, I kept trying, and trying, and trying, until I finally succeeded. You can succeed in your dreams too.
You told me you wanted freedom for your people, you told me you wanted those who wanted peace to live in peace, you can do that now. Tell me, how to kill your father. And I will end this war once and for all."
Hearing his genuine words, seeing the emotions of care and kindness in his eyes, a little hope finally came to Kami's eyes. She started crying as she hugged him tightly.
Only she knew for how long has she waited for someone to come and save her, to save this world, only to realize now, she was wrong. If she wants to be saved, she'll have to do it herself.
"Help me, bring a better future for this world. A future of love and peace, like the one you envisioned. I promise you, trust me once, and I'll make that dream a reality." Leon said as he caressed her back gently, calming her trembling body and flowing tears against his chest.
Kami finally stopped crying and looked up at him, "I'll help you kill him. Not just him, but her too."
"Her?" Leon asked in confusion.
"The godmother, she's the one who's… . . ."
"Kami, kami, what happened? What were you saying? Godmother who?"
Kami tried to explain the mystery behind this planet, behind her father who's known as the chosen son of godmother and the sacred tree, yet before her words could spill anything big, her heart stopped beating and her body fell lifeless into Leon's arms.
"She's dead." Seraphina said, bringing Leon out of his shock, as he couldn't believe what happened.
One moment she was hugging him, pouring her heart out and taking the leap of faith over his trust, and then…
Seeing his broken state, Seraphina placed her hand on his shoulder and said, "It's not your fault. Maybe it's her dad, or this godmother she spoke of, but it's not you…"
Yet whatever she explained meant nothing as Leon knew, the reason Kami died, was him. Had it not been for him, she wouldn't have. Had it not been for him, Kurami wouldn't have followed Vanessa here and killed everyone. Had it not been for him, none of it would have happened.
The guilt of being responsible for such chaos and bloodbath, caused his heart to break as he felt his chest tighten and throat swell up. Only to be interfered in this thought train by the loud laughter of Kurami, who sensed his daughter's demise.
"So that bitch finally died huh. It's sad I couldn't be the one to kill her."
The hearty laughter of Kurami and the disrespect he showed towards his daughter, seemed to have flipped a switch in Leon's mind, as all the guilt from earlier turned into anger.
Leon raised his eyes and stared at Kurami who was trapped by a flaming rope and was trying to free himself. Staring at his laughing face, that showed no emotion of a father's love, Leon just pointed his hand at the sun and clenched his fist. Before pulling it down strongly.
As if his fists had pulled a flame straight from the sun, a ball of fire fell directly on Kurami's head, blasting his body to smithereens. Along with a ten meter radius.
"God damn, what was that?"
"Was that you Vanessa?
"Why didn't you use it earlier?"
"It wasn't me."
"Well, whatever, this spell was so big, he should be dead now right. After all, there shouldn't even be anything left to heal at this point."
The students talked amongst themselves, feeling relieved that this shit was finally over, only to be surprised yet again, as through the deep pit on ground, an illusory soul on fire walked out, before the air seemed to distort around it's ghastly form, putting out the fire and creating a body for it.
"Ohh fuck no."
"Even that doesn't do it."
Zirrix and Heath cursed as they prepared to fight again, only to be pushed aside, as Leon tapped on their shoulder and walked towards Kurami.
"Don't worry, I'll handle him now," he said. before without any explanation just grabbed the demon by the neck and flapped his light wings to shoot straight into the sky.
"Wait, he's not gonna Icaris this demon, is he?" (zirrix)
"Can he even fly till the sun?" (Heath)
"He's not flying towards the sun, he's going towards the city." (Seraphina)
"The city, but why there?" (Celia)
"Sera, you heal the injured survivors, Celia, stay and help her. And you two, let's go and help him." Vanessa ordered and dashed from her place, leaving the other students in shock.
"Who died and made her the leader." Zirrix complained before following Heath towards the towards the city of Sol for the final epic showdown.
An enraged leon who just lost his 'would be lover' vs the Godmother who's backed up by the world will.
. .......
Note - But wait, since even the children chosen by godmother are so hard to kill like Baani, Kurami and next Serium, then how hard to kill must be the Godmother.
These camps all have a sacred tree and everyone prays to it like it's the version of Godmother. Then are there 8 of them or just one? And if it's just one where is she? If it's 8 , how do you kill it whole? Also 2 cities are missing if u remember, they're not part of dungeon, so is Godmother also unkillable in dungeon?
Also what's the plan my dead mc cookin? Did he dreamwalk somewhere? Or did he make a clone as corpse and went himself somewhere else?
Throw some theories my way, u dumb silent readers. Stop just coming and going like ghosts.
