Book 2: Chapter 82: Death of Han Qianchou

Vol 2 Ch 82: Death of Han Qianchou

"Enough!"

Min Jiangtao could no longer hold back. A powerful aura burst out from his body like a surging wave, crashing outward and forcing everyone to retreat repeatedly.

The teapot in Han Qianchou's hand, which he had been using to prepare tea, exploded under the impact, spilling hot water all over the floor.

"How dare you act insolently before His Majesty! Courting death!"

The surrounding Golden Guards drew their swords in unison, swiftly surrounding him.

With a wave of his massive hand, Min Jiangtao unleashed a torrent of True Energy. The guards charging at him were sent flying, crashing into the walls and leaving massive craters.

"What are you doing?"

Realizing he had gone too far and provoked the other party’s complete fury, Han Qianchou showed a trace of panic in his eyes and quickly stood up.

Min Jiangtao took a step forward, his tone cold and resolute. "What am I doing? I only want to ask—was Mo Qing killed by you?"

Han Qianchou nodded. "That's right. He did die in the imperial palace..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Min Jiangtao’s figure blurred and reappeared right in front of him, his palm striking down with unstoppable force.

"You..."

Shocked by the speed, Han Qianchou leapt back, tapping his foot to retreat while simultaneously pushing his palms forward to block the attack.

However, Min Jiangtao's power was overwhelming. Before Han Qianchou’s force could even reach him, a devastating surge of energy had already descended.

Boom!

Han Qianchou felt his entire body grow heavy. The floor beneath him shattered, and he fell to the lower level, landing heavily. Blood spurted from his mouth as his chest tightened painfully.

Fortunately, his internal organs were well-tempered; otherwise, this strike alone would have left him crippled or dead.

"So strong..."

At that moment, he finally realized the vast gulf in strength between him and Min Jiangtao.

And this was without him wielding the Mo Dao yet. If he used his blade, how terrifying would it be?

Crash!

As he was still in shock, the roof was shattered by Min Jiangtao, who descended like a giant shadow. Knowing he couldn’t withstand another attack, Han Qianchou stopped pretending and turned desperately to Yue Longxiao.

"Master Yue, explain quickly..."

It was the perfect timing. All he needed was an explanation, and even in his fury, Min Jiangtao would not dare offend the Wanchang Sect.

But to his dismay, Yue Longxiao looked completely bewildered. "Explain what?"

Yue truly had no idea what was happening or what Han Qianchou expected him to do.

Min Jiangtao glanced coldly at Yue Longxiao. Seeing that his confusion was genuine, he snorted. The Mo Dao appeared in his hand as he strode forward.

"Master Yue, you—"

Han Qianchou retreated repeatedly, nearly exploding with anger. This guy was utterly unreliable!

Yue Longxiao, equally aggrieved, exclaimed, "Elder Min, I have no idea what he means! I have nothing to do with him..."

"I know," Min Jiangtao cut him off, raising the Mo Dao and pointing it forward.

The blade’s gleam spread like water, engulfing the room. Han Qianchou hastily grabbed a nearby Golden Guard's sword to defend himself.

Sword light shimmered, flowing with the energy of the Flowing Light Heaven's Fate technique.

For most, facing such formidable sword energy would induce panic. But Min Jiangtao’s immense strength made him unshakeable. With another strike of his Mo Dao, the sword energy collapsed. 𝙍

Han Qianchou spat blood, his back slamming into the wall.

Struggling to stand, he glared at Yue Longxiao with hatred. "I knew you'd deny everything! Did you really think I wasn’t prepared?"

With a wave of his hand, the sound of armor clanking accompanied a group of Golden Guards dragging several individuals into the hall.

Yue Longxiao turned his gaze, his pupils contracting sharply.

The captives were his most cherished disciples, their faces pale and their bodies evidently tortured.

"Teacher..."

One of the disciples couldn’t help but cry out.

"Han Qianchou, you despicable fiend!" Yue Longxiao's face darkened with rage.

"Despicable? I only wanted to ensure you’d keep your promise," Han Qianchou retorted coldly. "Master Yue, I trust you will explain properly as agreed."

His prior preparations had paid off. Without them, Yue’s silence would have ensured his own demise earlier.

"Explain? To hell with explanations! I’ll kill you to avenge Senior Brother!"

Before Han Qianchou could finish speaking, a furious roar echoed as Ling Buyang, who had remained silent, suddenly brandished his Mo Dao, slashing it down at Han Qianchou.

"You..."

Han Qianchou tried to retort, but the force of the blade was suffocating, making it impossible to even utter a word.

He raised the sword to block, but the blade energy surged like relentless waves, leaving him no room to catch his breath.

Crash!

The sword shattered, and his back slammed against the wall once more.

"Master Yue, stop hesitating and rescue your disciples!" Zhang Xuan shouted urgently.

"Understood!"

Yue Longxiao snapped out of his daze. His figure blurred as he charged at the Golden Guards.

As a cultivator at the pinnacle of the Ninth Level of the Source Pool Realm, Yue made quick work of the guards, saving his disciples within moments.

Relieved, Yue turned back to see Ling Buyang gaining the upper hand. The Mo Dao danced in his hands, its blade energy surging like dragons.

"He’s truly reached the Second Stage..." Min Jiangtao nodded inwardly.

Ling Buyang’s recent breakthrough had been rumored, and now it was evident. Though slightly unpolished, his blade art was formidable. Had it been more refined, Han Qianchou wouldn’t have withstood even a single strike.

Even so, the outcome was already clear.

"Charge!"

The commotion drew more guards to the scene. They swarmed in, fearlessly throwing themselves at the three.

Min Jiangtao snorted coldly, swinging his Mo Dao. The blade energy formed a wall, keeping the attackers at bay.

Without formation support, these guards posed no threat. However, mindful of conserving True Energy, Min Jiangtao shouted, "Buyang, speed it up and subdue him!"

"Got it!"

Zhang Xuan nodded and roared, his Mo Dao slashing down.

This strike was more potent than before. Han Qianchou tried to evade but found himself locked in place by the power of Zhang Xuan’s soul energy. He couldn’t move.

Slash!

With a sickening sound, Han Qianchou’s shoulder was cleaved apart. His once-vibrant aura instantly dissipated. Though he wasn’t dead yet, he was on the verge of collapse.

"Why didn’t you dodge?" Zhang Xuan asked in alarm. "Senior Brother, I only meant to injure him and subdue him completely. I didn’t expect him to throw himself into the attack..."

"No matter. Dead is dead," Min Jiangtao replied, unconcerned.

The Emperor, leaning weakly against the wall, knew the truth. It wasn’t that Han Qianchou had chosen not to dodge—he had been immobilized by Zhang Xuan’s soul energy.

Feigning concern, Zhang Xuan rushed over, clutching the Emperor's wrist. A surge of True Energy coursed through him.

The Emperor, trying to speak, felt his meridians shatter under the energy's assault. His vision darkened as his life ended.

"Han Qianchou!" Zhang Xuan called out, pretending to mourn.

"No use. He’s already gone," Min Jiangtao remarked, satisfied.

"Dead, at last!" Yue Longxiao sighed in relief.

Turning to his disciples, Yue freed them and discovered to his horror that they had been poisoned.

"Ling Vice Hall Master, search Han Qianchou for the antidote!" Yue shouted desperately.
