Chapter 62: Ravenians
Atlas felt his dagger sink into the mercenary's flesh, which was the signal to cast a Void Bullet into his body, causing the man to make a strange death noise before falling to the ground.
Following that, he aimed his hand at the group of soldiers fighting the three girls. He released a dozen Void Arrows, and thanks to what Estelle told him, he aimed for the enemy's torsos, knowing the spells would give the ladies a fighting chance.
The azure projectiles lit up the area in a beautiful blue color as they sliced through the air like homing missiles and pierced the Ravenian's armor like a hot knife cutting through butter, causing them to stagger back as blood poured out of their wounds.
When Artemis and Grishna saw this, they attacked the soldiers with renewed vigor. The two older girls hacked and slashed at the shocked enemies. As this happened, Atlas scanned the soldiers to grasp the enemies' strength.

'This will be hard, but I can do it if I do what Estelle said,' Atlas mused before rushing toward Marcus.
He noticed the leader was a mountain of a man who spotted him and got ready to swing the massive war hammer he wielded. When Atlas saw this, he fired several Void Bullets that exploded on contact, causing the weapon to veer off course.
When the ground next to Atlas exploded, he scrambled to his feet and rammed his dagger into a gap between Marcus's thigh armor. As the blade pierced the big man's flesh, he noticed that a large hand approached his face.
Atlas ignored that while casting Void Guard to protect himself before sending a Void Bullet into the man's legs that exploded instantly. The blast sent him flying while blowing the leader's leg into the shreds of dangling meat strips.
While Atlas flew through the air, he cast Void Step to appear near Lilith and Amethyst, who joined the fight. The honey badger attacked a Ravenian while the phoenix girl peppered the enemy with Cosmic Blasts and Bullets that disrupted their movements.
In the meantime, Estelle blocked several spells aimed at Artemis and Grishna as they dealt with the soldiers pouring onto the hilltop. The three older girls worked together to push the enemy back.
Grishna used her Shrill Shriek spells to confuse them while Artemis hit them with a dozen mana bullets she fired from her sling before pulling her sword back out to block a slash from behind.
'These girls can fight,' Atlas thought while watching the three older ladies. 'But they've also trained for years.'
The orc girl used her spear like a master and kept the Ravenians back while Estelle hit them with a Light Blast that sent a few soldiers flying off the hill. When Atlas saw this, he got low to the ground and started sprinting through the battlefield.
He stabbed and slashed the legs of the enemy, bringing them to the ground with a thud before he plunged his dagger through their skull, thanks to the weak spots. The mercenaries wouldn't be killed so easily if they were higher ranked and would take extra effort to deal with.
Atlas noticed the leader was still alive but saw several Ravenians between him and his target. Without wasting more time, he sprinted toward Marcus while casting a dozen Void Bullets that exploded just in front of them.
'Hopefully, this works,'' he thought.
This caused a dust cloud to erupt, sending Atlas several Void Arrows at the mercenary's chests. The azure projectile flew through the air before slamming into the enemies and boring a hole through their armor and flesh.
He rushed into the cloud while slashing at any legs he saw before spotting the down Ravenian leader, causing his smile to widen as he drove his blade into the man's forehead and instantly felt the experience pouring into him.
'This feels so good, got to love leveling up.'
Atlas was preoccupied as a mercenary rushed up to him and took a swing, but Lilith barrelled into the man. The little monster tore the enemy's throat out before jumping off the falling body.
Following this, the group worked together to decimate the attacking Ravenians until Atlas was out of breath and covered in fresh blood. He found himself at the bottom of the hill, leaning against a tree with the body of a mercenary he chased a few feet away.
'I do love fighting but I'm young and can't keep up with the older people,' Atlas thought before falling to the ground.
While lying there, Lilith walked up to him and started licking his face. Atlas smiled when he felt this before dragging the furry monster into a cuddle, which she happily accepted as he stood up.
Atlas ascended the hill and witnessed Grishna swiftly dispatching the injured mercenaries. He intervened, calling out to her, "Grish! Spare one."
Upon hearing his request, the orc girl beamed with understanding. She spared the last remaining Ravenian, a bloodied figure missing an arm. Atlas approached the man and questioned, ''Why did you attack this hill, and how did you know we were here?''
''An Evergladian woman came to our camp to tell us that the Koshai was here to attack, so we struck first,'' the dying man looked at Atlas in fear. ''White hair and blue eyes heralds the coming of the Devil who brings death to Ravencrest.''
''Koshai? That's new,'' Atlas said before plunging his blade through the man's skull and reveling in the experience that poured into his body.
While doing that, Lilith bit his leg, bringing Atlas back to reality as she growled. He shook his head and noticed the four girls looking at him, ''What's wrong?'' he questioned.
Estelle stepped forward with a concerned expression as Lilith went off to hunt, ''Do you get pleasure from killing people, Le Messie Élu?''
The others nodded in agreement and waited for his answer. After cleaning his dagger, Atlas stepped away from the body as he spoke, ''No. When experience flows into my body, it gives me a warm feeling which is strange but comforting.''
''Okay,'' the blonde knight responded with relief lace in her voice. ''Try not to get lost in that feeling, Little One. It can be dangerous if you are fighting a group.''
''I'll be careful,'' Atlas said before making his way to a nearby tree after the older girls said they would travel to Wildreach in an hour.
While relaxing, he checked his status. After working out, he killed two Adept Ravenians and five Apprentice Ranked soldiers.

'Nice. I'll level up soon,' Atlas mused before turning to the girls looting the Ravenian mercenaries.
He stood up and approached Grishna, who was trying to tie a collection of weapons together, making him laugh. "I can put it in my storage, Grish. It saves you carrying it to Wildreach," he offered.
"You won't keep ma stuff?" the orc girl questioned with a raised eyebrow.
Atlas shook his head. "No. I'll carry it for you. I don't want anything; it's yours after all."
Grishna beamed before handing him it. Atlas quickly stored it in his Dimensional Storage just as she stepped forward and pecked him on the cheek. His whole body stiffened when he felt her soft lips, and his cheeks reddened.
'Oh wow that felt good,' Atlas thought while watching her walk away.
The orc girl giggled, ''You're adorable when embarrassed. I hope this doesn't change my future Navara,'' she said before walking toward Artemis and Amethyst, who were planning a way to the city.
Then, he heard Estelle's voice behind him, ''Le Messie Élu. We will be moving out once the others finish looting. Do you know where Lilith's gone?''
Atlas shrugged, ''I'm not sure, but she will find us before we leave.''
Following that, the group proceeded to Wildreach while dodging roving bands of mercenaries chasing Evergladians. While trekking, Atlas spotted an army heading toward the city, which gave him a bad feeling.
Atlas turned to the group, ''I think the Ravenians will attack Wildreach. We need to get there before they do,'' he said.
They all agreed and started speeding up. It took them a few hours of traveling, but by the time the afternoon sun was high in the sky, they reached the outskirts of the city, which was in chaos.
When Atlas arrived at the top of the hill, Amethyst was waiting for him. Estelle told the group, ''We must get into the city before they spot the army.''
After that, they sprinted toward the entrance. Atlas, worried about Lilith, suddenly saw her appear to their right. She sped up and launched herself at him, but he was ready and caught the little monster, causing the others to laugh.
It took them another ten minutes to reach the line that led into the city. Once in the queue, Atlas spoke, ''How will we travel to Volantis? Isn't it in the middle of the ocean?''
Everyone looked at Estelle, who smiled. "Correct. It's a city my father is proud of because many nations trade there. It brings in so much tax that the kingdom stationed a veteran army there."
She looked around before continuing, ''I know a smuggler who can get us to Volantis for a price, but he's always in Wildreach looking for work.''
''How much?'' Atlas inquired.
''For all five of us? Maybe 50 silver because he has been protected by the Argonian Navy many times,'' the blonde knight revealed.
