Level Up: Voidwalker

Chapter 175: Half Way There

''We will go soon, boy,'' Atlas spoke to the Blood Bat King. ''I want to kill more Void Golems before moving on, as it's a nice day.''

Theo screeched as he dived off the mountain ledge and soared through the air, his voice echoing in Atlas's head: ' I'm Going to get us breakfast, Master.'

He nodded before sitting down and activating the Void Realm. After a few seconds, he reappeared on the same plateau he'd seen many times already, causing him to shake his head and complain, ''Can't wait to move on from this level.''

Just as Atlas muttered, the rumbling started, which prompted him to run while using a few Thunderclap Bombs that caused thunder to boom over the plateau and take out hundreds of golems.

Smiling at the results, he started flinging several Gravity Bombs at the monsters, which brought them crashing to the ground as Atlas finished them off using his Void Infusion-covered blades that sliced through the stone like butter.

Atlas enjoyed this fight as the bombs were helping him out a lot, and he couldn't believe he had forgotten about them. With a chuckle, he threw some of the Inferno ones into the crowd, exploded, and took out many Golems.

While he was doing this, some Golem Warriors dashed toward him before throwing boulders in his direction. Atlas smiled when he saw this and cast Void Guard, which blocked the rubble as he cast Void Bomb into the stronger monsters.

The explosion tore through Golem's ranks, but Atlas still had to rush in and finish them off using Nightblade. His battle with the monsters continued to unfold as explosions erupted over the plateau.

Atlas managed to kill enough that he noticed the Warrior Golems appearing even more, causing him to focus on them. He had to use Void Wave to get the rest of the monsters off him while fighting.

He used Void Blast to propel himself into the air just as he cast a Void Bomb at the swarm, causing a mini nuclear blast that sent him tumbling into the sea below, ending his run in the strange world, and waking up on the ledge.

'Charging Void Bomb like that was crazy,' he mused with a smile.

Theo was there eating what looked like a water buffalo, which made Atlas chuckle as he pulled out a Griffin Meat Box before eating and checking the monster total, which interested him.

[Void Golem – 814576/1000000]

[Void Warrior Golem – 481306/500000]

[Void Golem Commander – 99426/100000]

[Void Golem King – 1/1]

'Oh the Void Golems are dropping,' Atlas thought. 'I'll try lower it before moving on tomorrow. That should take out a big chunk of monsters.'

Following that, he started eating while planning to use his bombs to aid him in the Void Realm. By the time he finished his food, he had spent the rest of the day fighting the army of Golems.

Atlas was wiping out so many that he would only be beaten when running out of mana, and a Warrior Golem caught him off guard. When returning to reality, he kept fighting the monsters to bring down the numbers while growing stronger.

After two days of relentless combat, Atlas grew weary of the unending battles and longed for a respite. Bored with the monotonous skirmishes, he took a break while checking the tally of monsters he still needed to defeat.

[Void Golem – 678976/1000000]

[Void Warrior Golem – 450101/500000]

[Void Golem Commander – 99226/100000]

[Void Golem King – 1/1]

'Nearly half way there,' Atlas internally celebrated before looking at Theo, ''Ready to head west, boy?''

The giant bat chirped in response, causing him to pack up the tent and climb onto the monster's back before it jumped off the ledge, opened its enormous wings and soared across the sky.

Atlas held on while looking over as the chaotic landscape was getting worse. They flew over several battlefields as the Shadowrealm soldiers were winning the war. Still, he only got involved when he spotted a family being preyed upon by them.

He used Void Bullets to take them out while Theos started eating them, which shocked the family, but when Atlas put down the other soldiers before looting their corpses and handing a pouch of coins to the father.

The older man and woman thanked him for helping before he got back to flying, and the closer they got to the border, he noticed the chaos was less prominent as the Greenskin Confederations warcraft patrolled the skies while bombarding the Shadowrealm soldiers.

Atlas noticed they were avoiding the Dawnstar people, which confused him. Soon enough, as they crossed a mountain range, one of the warcraft targeted them, causing Theo to fly even faster.

'Oh shit,' he thought. 'Theo, go faster.'

The monster created a sonic boom as it dived into the peaks, and the federation craft started firing its mana cannons at them. He glanced back and cast Void Guard around them just as one of the shells slammed into it.

''Hang on, Theo!'' Atlas roared. He conjured Void Bullets, sending a stream of glowing projectiles back toward their pursuer. The shots exploded against the warcraft's armor, leaving smoldering scars but failing to slow its relentless pursuit.

Theo twisted and turned, banking sharply to dodge the incoming shells. The warcraft adjusted its trajectory, its engines roaring as it followed in a relentless chase. Atlas spotted a narrow canyon ahead—a potential escape route.

"Through the canyon, Theo! We can lose them in there!" Atlas pointed toward the narrow, jagged opening between two towering rock formations.

Theo veered sharply, diving into the canyon's mouth. The cramped space forced them to slow down, weaving through the tight turns and rocky outcrops. Atlas could hear the thunderous roar of the warcraft as it pursued them.

Atlas pointed his Nightblade at the craft and was about to cast, but Theo chirped as he dived lower and was a few feet above the ground, allowing him to spot a cave the bat was heading for.

'A place to avoid the greenskins!' he internally celebrated.

When they got close, the warcraft pulled up after firing another wave of missiles. They entered the tunnel as explosions rang out and sent them tumbling out of the sky, but Theo wrapped its wings around him as they crashed into the muddy ground with a crash.

He felt the jarring impact as the Bat King vanished back to the Dungeon Realm, leaving him in a dark swamp. Atlas shook his head and scanned the surroundings but saw nothing lurking around.

'Thank fuck for that,' he thought before standing up.

He could see the tunnel stretched far into the distance, thanks to his helmet. He looked behind and noticed the cave entrance collapsed due to the explosions, causing him to sigh before summoning the Dreadmaw Lion Queen, who let out an earthshaking roar.

Atlas covered his ears before complaining, 'Don't do that here! That hurts.'

'Oh, sorry, Master,' A mature woman's voice sounded in his mind. 'I wanted to show you how great I am.'

He deadpanned at the monster before bonking it on the head and replying, 'Now any monster knows we're here and can ambush us.'

The lion angrily exclaimed, 'No one will ambush the great me!'

''Oh shut up, will you,'' Atlas said to the overdramatic monster. ''Just let me ride you out of this place.''

Following that, he climbed onto the lion's back before it started sprinting through the tunnel, and while doing that, Atlas noticed hundreds of monsters just under the water, which creeped him out.

After the duo traveled for a while, the water became deeper, causing the lion to be more careful, but that wasn't enough. An explosion erupted from below, and a monster started fighting with his creature.

The Dreadmaw Lion went mad, but Atlas was thrown into the water only to be swamped by crab monsters. He quickly cast Void Wave and Step to get away from them before he spammed Void Blast into the horde.

Atlas shook his head and scanned the newcomers as he readied to fight.

[Explosive magic!]

'I'll just use Void Bullets and Bombs,' he mused before casting the spells into the incoming creatures.

Azure explosions erupted as the Dreadmaw Lion dispatched the monstrous, lobster-like creature. With a satisfied snarl, the lion turned to face its master. Atlas, ever vigilant, leaped onto the lion's back with practiced ease.

As he settled, the Dreadmaw Lion surged forward, its powerful limbs propelling them into a booming run. They traveled through the tunnel until reaching a dead end, which was an underground lake.

'Oh shit. There's going to be something down there,' Atlas thought while dismissing the lion and activating Aqua Lung.

He stepped into the cold water while summoning Medusa, who crashed into the water while speaking, 'Good to see you, Master. I hope its peaceful from now on.'

Atlas grabbed the giant serpent as she swam through the surprisingly clear water. He glanced around in case any monsters ambushed them, but Medusa quickly reassured him, 'Nothing resides here. They were killed a long time ago.'

'I wonder what did it,' he replied while taking in the underwater world.
