Level Up: Voidwalker

Chapter 170: I Feel Much Better

Atlas continued fighting the Dreadmaw Lions and used his superior speed against them. The enraged monsters became sloppy in their attacks, allowing him to use Void Blast to hurt them with its volatile magic, but it wasn't stopping all of them.

'This isn't working; let's try something else,' Atlas thought confidently while killing a monster as he felt the blade into its skull.

Afterward, he dodged several swipes before attacking the monster's face by thrusting Nightblade and Deepforge through their skulls, killing the lions in one attack. Once the battle was over, five blue cores lay on the ground next to a few gold coins as smoke from his spells billowed everywhere.

''There we go, all dead to my swords,'' he muttered while preparing himself for more by drinking a stamina and mana potion.

Atlas continued along the twenty-second floor while fighting Wild Orcs and more Dreadmaw Lions. The woodlands stretched in all different directions, and he noticed a large lake in the distance.

He sat on a fallen tree, scanning the landscape and catching his breath, not seeing any monsters roaming around. As his gaze fell on the dark lake, Atlas started thinking, 'I bet there's some sort of nightmarish monster hiding there.'

Everything looked creepy as a faint light came from above, casting shadows across the ground covered in a brush. As Atlas walked, he felt the atmosphere change as something evil washed through the dungeon.

'I know that feeling,' he thought while glancing around.

But halfway through, Atlas sensed the presence of Chaos, which put him on edge, and he summoned his helmet. Soon enough, he came across a group of strange wolf-cross hyena-looking monsters that were hunting some Wild Orcs.

He shook his head before using Void Sight on them to find out what they were.

[Savage Wargs]

[Chaos Touched]

[Rank: B - 800 Exp]

[Don't let them bite you, or the Chaos Taint will affect you]

Atlas nodded at the advice. Just as the Wargs spotted him, their creepy yellow eyes glowed with malice. The monsters started rushing toward him while letting out cackles and weird laughs that spooked him.

'What the fuck is it with these creepy monsters!' he internally complained before casting Void Bomb that sliced through the air and connected with the closest creature.

A massive explosion sent the monsters flying, allowing Atlas to rush around the battlefield like a jackrabbit, casting Void Bullets and Void Arrows into the Warg's heads as they tried to get up.

Ten minutes later, seven blue cores lay on the ground, which he quickly collected as more Savage Wargs appeared, causing Atlas to cast Void Guard to defend himself from the sudden attack.

The monster slammed into the azure shield as he cast Void Lance through its body, taking out many behind it before the projectiles exploded. After that, Atlas continued slashing and stabbing the creatures after using Void Infusion on the blades.

Thirty minutes later, all the Savage Wargs were dead, and he had earned a lot of cores, gold coins, and potions that littered the woodland ground. Atlas collected everything before traveling through the dungeon until reaching floor twenty-eight, where he met his new enemy.

'Dammit, they are chaos touched as well,' he thought while studying the creatures.

Atlas was looking at a Hobgoblin camp with at least one hundred monsters roaming around. He crouched down while coming up with a plan and remembered the Landsharks from the Shattered Chasm Dungeon.

'I will use them to surprise attack the Hobgoblins before launching my magic at them while they're confused,' he planned his next attack with a grin.

While resting in the bush, Atlas used Void Sight on the monsters to see what advice the system would offer.

[Hobgoblins]

[Chaos Worshippers]

[Rank: B - 500 Exp]

[Be very careful with these monsters; they are bright, and some of them are much stronger than you]

'Interesting,' Atlas mused before adding another phase to his plan. 'Ten Landshark then bring out Big Momma to deal with the survivors alongside me.'

With a focused breath, Atlas activated Dungeon Conqueror, summoning the Landsharks. The massive, hippo-sized beasts materialized around him, their odd, almost endearing chirps a strange contrast to their formidable appearanceā€”armored bodies and rows of razor-sharp teeth.

Despite their fearsome looks, there was something friendly about them, a bond that felt more profound than summons or battle tools. A warm smile tugged at Atlas' lips as he stroked one of the Landsharks.

The creature leaned into his touch, letting out a contented rumble that made Atlas realize they were loyal companions. He looked at them, then pointed at the Hobgoblin camp, saying, ''We will ambush them for below.'

All the Landsharks nodded their big heads in agreement. Shortly after, the monsters dived into the ground while one waited for him to climb on its back.

Atlas wasted no time. He cast Void Guard, encasing himself in a shimmering barrier as the ground quaked beneath him. The Landshark plunged violently into the earth, heading straight for the unsuspecting Hobgoblin camp.

The monsters, oblivious to the impending doom, were caught off guard as the Landsharks erupted from the ground, their terrifying jaws slicing through the Hobgoblins with unrelenting fury.

As chaos erupted, Atlas leaped into action. With a fierce battle cry, he activated Call of the Void. The air crackled with energy as a swirling portal tore open, and from its depths, the Void Bear Queen emerged with an earth-shattering roar that shook the very ground.

She surged forward while radiating raw power. The massive black bear quickly tore through the monsters as Atlas joined the fray while riding a Landshark and casting dozens of Void Bullets, Lances, and Blasts.

Explosions erupted across the camp, sending shockwaves of chaos as his monstrous legion clashed fiercely with the Hobgoblins. With a thunderous roar, Atlas soared from the back of a great shark, his descent a blur of fury and purpose.

His blade found its mark as he landed on the monster's chest, driving through the Shaman's face with an excited smile. In the same breath, he unleashed the Void Wave, a dark tide of energy surging forth to obliterate all in its path.

The azure wave rushed out of him and slammed into the surrounding monsters as the Queen battled with the leader, successfully tearing its armor apart. Atlas saw this and dashed toward the beast while sliding under a swipe and ducking to the side as a Hobgoblin swung a rusted axe at his head.

Atlas ducked before casting Void Barrage, which peppered the monsters and others around it. He smiled when he saw this before joining the Void Queen Bear, who had just killed the Hobgoblin Leader by biting off its head.

He watched as the bear popped the monster's head like a watermelon, causing blood and brain to fly all over the place as a group killed the last Landshark. When Atlas saw this, he cast several Void Bombs into the remaining groups as the bear hugged him for protection.

The twentieth-ninth floor erupted as the flames wiped out the Hobgoblins, leaving behind the cores, coins, and potions. Atlas was freed from the Void Bear hug once he dismissed her back to the Void Realm.

After that, Atlas collected thirty Monster Cores before resting on the ground due to exhaustion taking over his body. He slumped down in a small cave under a tree as Dreadmaw Lions and Savage Wargs appeared.

'I'm exhausted and need to rest for a while.'

From his hidden vantage point, Atlas watched as the dungeon creatures scoured the area in a frenzy, desperately trying to track him down. But his concealment was perfect, keeping him safe from their searching eyes.

Taking a moment to recover, he quietly pulled out a Griffin Meat Box and began eating, savoring the meal as the chaotic beasts rampaged through the dungeon, unaware of his presence.

'Looks like the monsters are pissed off,' he thought with a tired smile.

Despite their frantic attempts, they couldn't find him, leaving Atlas with a quiet moment of peace amid the chaos. While eating, he felt his energy slowly returning before wrapping the Enchanted Cloak around himself.

Afterward, Atlas got comfortable and soon fell asleep as a dungeon storm started. This one was much worse due to the chaos infecting the palace. The following day, he woke up feeling refreshed.

'I feel much better now,' he mused, stretching his arms.

He shook his head and climbed out of his cave, determined to press on. As Atlas made his way through the dense woodlands of the following floors, the familiar sounds of battle filled the air while he killed many monsters on his journey.

The monsters were the same as before, allowing him to cut through them quickly. He noticed the endless woods but pushed forward, knowing a Sub-Boss was incoming. This excited him because he was leveling up and becoming stronger.

Then, Atlas reached floor thirty and noticed a rolling grassland stretching in all directions until he saw a large arena resembling the coliseum, causing him to think, 'I wonder what monster will appear.'

Once he stepped onto the dark stone, the arena trapped him inside as the gate opposite opened. Shortly after, Atlas heard loud footsteps approaching from the entrance, making him excitedly grin.
