Chapter 73: - Mundane Tasks

The car sped along with Leon at the wheel while Freya sat beside him, both remaining silent for a moment as the car traversed the city streets at night, the lights casting a gentle glow on their faces.

"So, having ice cream is a good choice after experiencing something bitter," Freya said, breaking the silence, then smiled as Leon glanced at her.

Leon smiled back, "Do I look like I'm swallowing a bitter pill to you?"

Freya nodded softly. "I heard this from Lily, so I was curious to approach you..."

"You sure are an extra miles worker, huh... I didn't know that EPSP duties extended to

personal matters like this," he said, still looking at Freya.

Since their car was equipped with an auto drive assistant, it was safe enough for the driver to momentarily shift their gaze to the side.

"If my client gets heartbroken and decides to quit playing the game, it would be a problem for me..." she said. "So, I guess intervening a bit isn't a big deal, right?"

"Thanks, Freya..." he said softly before turning back to the road.

"Any plans for tonight? The night is still young..."

"I still have about 2 hours of playtime, so we can roam around for the next 2 hours, I guess." The car then sped towards the coastal area, where there was a bridge spanning the shoreline, a place where many people strolled to enjoy the night by the sea breeze. They sat leaning against it, the sea breeze slightly muffling their voices. They sat in silence for a while, their shoulders touching.

Leon also briefly told Freya what made him leave after he and Laura met earlier, and he also briefly mentioned Bob, whom Freya seemed to know about.

"She really seemed to be trying to talk to you..." she said. "Don't you want to give her a chance to explain?"

Leon shook his head. "I think my relationship with her ended years ago. She has her own life, and so do I."

Freya smiled and sighed, "She is... an Immortal Legacy player..."

Leon turned to Freya, looking puzzled. "Is she that famous, a top ranker?"

Freya glanced back, showing a curious expression. "Do you want to know more about her?"

Leon remained silent. "No, just curious if you know her..."

"Yes, she's part of a top guild, and you might meet her soon." she continued.

Leon then removed his jacket and draped it over Freya, knowing the night air was chilly. "Let's go back, it's getting colder."

He then stood up.

Freya followed him, walking alongside him with faster steps, then nudged his shoulder with hers. "Don't act sweet with me, we're colleagues, remember."

"You were the one who crossed the line by holding my hand and acting like we were that close."

"I know you liked it, so drop your cool façade, playboy!"

"Where did that accusation come from? I'm just a pathetic guy left by his girlfriend."

Freya then laughed at his words, causing her to stop walking for a moment. Leon also stopped, waiting for her laughter to subside.

"Happy, Ms. Super Assistant?"

Freya then resumed walking. "Yes, I'm happy to see your vulnerable side, I'll keep this memory to tease you in the future."

"Get ready, I'm smart in seeking revenge."

They then continued and returned to Leon's new residence.

Leon opened the door to his hotel room and saw Lily sitting alone in the living room. She quickly stood up and looked pleased to see Leon and Freya.

"Hi... I thought you guys would stay outside," she said with a giggle.

Leon just smiled wryly and placed his jacket and bag aside.

"That's too fast, Lily. We just met, do you think I'm that easily swayed?" Freya chuckled in response to Lily's joke.

Leon then walked towards the sofa and sat down, Lily also sat back down on the right side, and Freya also sat down on Leon's left side.

They soon turned their attention to the TV, which was airing news about Immortal Legacy.

"Go play the game, Princess Alora is waiting for you," Lily said, giggling.

"Princess Alora is asking The Ass Guild to hunt me down," he said.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

They fell silent for a moment, seeming to enjoy each other's company.

"Leon..." Lily said, then leaned on his shoulder. "I like having Freya between us. She said she would often visit to keep me company, knowing that you're tired of real life and prefer the fantasy world more..."

"Where did that statement come from, Lily..." he murmured softly. "I will spend more time with you."

"Do you guys need time to talk as siblings?" Freya then muttered. "I can leave if needed." "No... Keep staying here, Freya..." Lily said. "Leon doesn't mind either."

The next day, Leon finally decided to come to campus after weeks of absence. He truly made use of the facilities he had, with Alfred chauffeuring him in a luxurious car. It was a black luxury car that was completely out of reach or imagination for him before.

The car entered the campus area and parked, attracting many curious glances.

"Hey, it's the first time I've seen a car like this on campus."

"Does it belong to one of the professors?"

"I don't know, I think it's just a rich student showing off their wealth."

Leon then stepped out of the passenger door, looking much smarter than usual, far different from his old appearance that clearly showed him as a poor student. No one recognized Leon because he wasn't particularly well-known, but many were curious about him.

"Who is he? Why don't I know him?"

"I don't know, is he a new student?"

"If he's that important, shouldn't many people know him?"

"Maybe he's a new student... because his face is unfamiliar to me."

"I feel like he's really rich, coming to campus with a private driver in such a luxurious car." "Damn, I feel like I want to be friends with him, at least being close to a rich kid has many advantages."

Leon started walking out of the parking lot, noticing that many people were looking at him. He paused for a moment, feeling the unusual gaze of the people around him. It was a feeling he had experienced before when people looked at him, but back then it was with disgust. Now, they looked at him with admiration.

He sighed softly, realizing how much wealth could change people's perceptions. Wealth truly seemed to be something worshiped and could easily change someone's beliefs. Money really

held that much value.

Leon walked casually, trying to ignore the stares of the people who were mostly curious about the luxurious car he was using and eager to know his identity.

However, Leon's gaze suddenly fell on someone standing in his path, a woman with wavy and flowing blonde hair, Laura.

Leon walked slowly and then stopped in front of her, looking at her for a moment. But there was a furrow on Laura's forehead, clearly showing her discomfort.

There was no conversation between them, after which Leon avoided her and continued

walking away, leaving Laura to ponder further about what had happened between them.

Leon mumbled to himself, "Let's finish these mundane tasks quickly so I can get back to Immortal Legacy."
