Chapter 519: Chapter 519 - A Three-Hour Flight
Fokil and Ivana quickly gathered around Broken, ready to support and watch as he prepared
for another round of Equipment Enchantment. He confidently pulled out his weapons, placing them side by side. This time, he focused solely on three:
[(Legendary) +15 Wavebreaker Spear]
[(Legendary) +15 The Moonvine Knuckles - Guardian Treant Lv. 210 (Growth Type)]
[(Epic) +12 The Bow of Artemis]
With the Wavebreaker Spear and Moonvine Knuckles safely at +15, Broken had a bit more confidence. At that level, he wouldn't risk the upgrades dropping if things went wrong. The Bow of Artemis, though only Epic-grade, was his backup plan—just in case he had to keep pushing for +18 but ended up failing on the Legendary items.
"How confident are you about getting them to +18, kid?"
Broken raised his head and met their eyes. "I just have to keep trying, over and over, until I succeed. Isn't that how everyone does it?" He grinned. "Persistence is key."
"You're right... and also wrong. But go for it!"
"Ganbatte, Broken!" Ivana cheered.
Broken immediately began the upgrade process, starting with his Bow of Artemis.
[You've succeeded in upgrading The Bow of Artemis to +13.]
[You've succeeded in upgrading The Bow of Artemis to +14.]
[You have failed in your attempt to upgrade The Bow of Artemis, and as a result, its upgrade level has dropped to +12.]
Unfortunately, every time he got close to a breakthrough, the upgrades would fail, setting him back. He began to sweat, frustration creeping in.
"It felt easier yesterday..."
"That's normal, kid. Upgrading a high-grade weapon is never easy. You just have to keep at it."
Broken nodded slowly, gathering his focus before continuing.
[You've succeeded in upgrading The Bow of Artemis to +17.]
Ivana clapped softly. "That's incredible, Broken...!"
Fokil swallowed hard, wiping his brow. "That went too smoothly. But don't get too greedy- you could drop back to +15 if you push too hard."
Broken looked at both of them, considering Fokil's advice.
"My suggestion," Fokil continued, "is to hold at +17 for now and test your luck on the other weapons. Experiment a bit before pushing further."
Broken nodded, turning his attention back to his work. There was still much to do, and he needed to approach it carefully.
After exhausting all his Blessed Stones and enduring countless attempts, Broken finally achieved the results he had been aiming for, even if it wasn't the optimal outcome he had hoped for:
[You've succeeded in upgrading The Wavebreaker Spear to +16.]
[You've succeeded in upgrading The Moonvine Knuckles - Guardian Treant Lv. 210 (Growth Type) to +17.]
[You have accomplished a remarkable feat, being the first player to successfully enchant a Legendary Weapon up to +16. As a reward, you will be receiving 20 Stat Points.]
[You have done the impossible! You are the first player to have successfully enchanted a Legendary Weapon to +17, and for your accomplishment, you will be rewarded with 20 Stat Points.]
"Bow +17, Knuckle +17, and Spear +16," Broken said, exhaling slowly. "In addition," he added with a wide smile, "I accumulated a total of 40 Stat Points."
"Cool," Fokil responded. "This is already quite extraordinary. I doubt anyone else has managed what you've just done. Getting a Legendary-grade weapon to +17 is an incredible feat. And you still have time and resources to make even more attempts."
"Thanks, sir," Broken replied. For now, he could savor this moment, knowing he had achieved something truly remarkable.
"+16 will increase the stats by around 53%, and +17 boosts them to about 57%," Fokil explained.
"Wow... that's such a huge improvement!" Ivana said.
Broken glanced over his weapons, inspecting the final results. The Wavebreaker Spear, Moonvine Knuckles, and Bow of Artemis all gleamed with their upgraded auras, and their enhanced stats were nothing short of impressive. Despite not reaching the optimal goal he had set for himself, seeing them all powered up to this level brought a sense of satisfaction.
[+16 Wavebreaker Spear]
[Grade: Legendary]
[Attack Power: 1638-1802
Stamina +151
Constitution +226
Strength +151]
[..]
[+17 The Moonvine Knuckles - Guardian Treant Lv. 210 (Growth Type)]
[Grade: Legendary]
[Attack Power: 841-924
Attack power +31% Under the Moon
Agility +345)
[..]
[+17 The Bow of Artemis]
[Grade: Epic]
[Attack Power: 408-471
Accuracy +31
Attack Speed +15
Movement Speed +23]
The stats had truly increased drastically, especially for the Moonvine Knuckles, which now boasted an Attack Power +31% Under the Moon. It was a remarkable boost, almost absurd in
its potency.
"The stats... they're incredible," Broken muttered.
"That's why everyone chases the highest upgrades they can get," Fokil said. "Even if the cost
is steep."
All the weapons in front of Broken shimmered with a golden aura, though the +17 weapons glowed with a more intense, richer hue than the +16.
He stood up and picked up his knuckles, which had a green base color now elegantly adorned with that golden glow. Holding them, he could still feel his hands trembling, his heart pounding from the adrenaline of the upgrade process. It wasn't the optimal outcome he had hoped for, but it was more than enough to give his performance a significant boost for now.
"These are so beautiful..."
"Cool... Now take your time, kid. Take a break. I'm tired of seeing you stuck in this place for so long."
Broken nodded. "Thanks, sir."
He strapped the Bow of Artemis onto his back and slipped on the Moonvine Knuckles. Then, with Ivana following behind him, he exited the smithy.
"Broken..." Ivana called softly, watching him walk ahead. "I'm sure you just want to practice using your weapons and your martial arts, right?"
"Yes, I just want to see how the aura of this weapon looks under the sun," he said casually.
The people on the streets of Deadbay City couldn't help but stare in shock as Broken walked
by, his weapons glinting under the sunlight.
"Damn! Are my eyes deceiving me? Those are Legendary Weapons, and that bow... they've
been upgraded so highly!"
"How high do you think the upgrade is? +18?"
"No way," someone else chimed in. "Judging by the aura, they're probably +17 or +16. Still,
that's insane."
"Isn't he afraid someone will try to hunt him down just to steal those weapons? Damn,
walking around with them out like that... he's so arrogant."
"I don't think anyone would dare hunt him down. He's friends with the Ass Guild, after all."
"Yeah, and he's strong too. I've heard stories."
"Really? I've never actually seen him fight."
Melliandra approached from a distance, with Kingsley following close behind. The moment she spotted Broken, she quickened her pace, running over to him.
"Hey, pervert!" she called out. "What are you doing, walking around flaunting your weapons
like that? Are you trying to show off?"
"Melliandra?" Broken greeted her casually, unfazed. "Good morning to everyone here..." He then gave Kingsley a friendly nod. "Have a wonderful day, Kingsley." Without missing a beat,n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
The continued to walk away.
"Hey, that's not +18, right? I'm sure it's not +18!" Melliandra shouted, chasing after him.
"I'm certain those weapons are +18 grade, Mel," Kingsley said calmly. "Just look at the glow."
Melliandra frowned, clearly unconvinced. "I'm almost positive they're only +15! And I seriously doubt he has enough money to upgrade all those weapons to +18!"
"I'm sure he has the money."
Melliandra scowled. "Don't tell me you used the money we contributed to you to upgrade
your weapons, you pervert!"
"Didn't he just win a prize from a competition recently, Mel?"
"That's not enough! +18 for just one weapon costs a fortune, let alone two!" she retorted.

Leon blinked open his eyes, the lingering feeling of spending the whole day on Immortal Legacy still fresh in his mind. Stepping out of his room, he found Freya and Lily sitting in the main room, their suitcases packed and ready to go.
"Hey, Mr. Crazy Rich," Freya greeted him with a smirk. "I've got three plane tickets, and we're leaving in two hours." She paused, watching for Leon's reaction before continuing. "It's only about a three-hour flight to get there. To the hospital where Maylock's wife is
being treated."
Leon nodded, taking in the information. "Give me ten minutes," he said. "I'll be ready."
The last time Broken was in Deadbay City, he still hadn't seen Maylock log back in, which left him feeling uneasy. As planned, he and Freya decided they would visit Maylock in person, hoping to offer some much-needed moral support.
Plus, this would be the first time Leon would meet a member of the Ass Guild in real life, aside from Charmelyn, who he'd already known from before.
