Chapter 124: Chapter 124 - A Gift Or Catastrophe
Chapter 124: - A Gift Or Catastrophe
Polly darted forward, her feet barely touching the ground as she raced through the thick undergrowth. She twisted and turned with remarkable agility, leaping between the wild vines that lashed out violently in every direction. It felt like battling a beast of unimaginable power, each vine a limb of an unyielding creature.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
As the darkness of night enveloped them, the moon rose to shed its eerie light upon their struggle, making it even more daunting. The limited visibility, cloaked in shadows, added to the challenge. Broken, having set aside his bow, now gripped his sword tightly, ready for battle.
"I know it won't be easy," Maylock muttered under his breath, the weight of their task pressing down on him. "At least we've given him the chance. If we slow down now, this monster will regain its strength, and we'll all be in grave danger."
"I wish I could do more for you, Broken," Elincia said, her voice barely audible over the sounds of battle. "But as Maylock said, this is the best we can manage."
With fierce determination, they faced the monstrous creature, their spirits unbroken. Maylock's voice rang out with authority, "Increase our attack! This is the moment we've been fighting for!"
Their assault became relentless, each strike more powerful than the last as they sought to exploit the creature's weaknesses.
Polly continued her frantic dash, deftly avoiding the writhing vines. Twice, she narrowly avoided a collision with the more enormous tendrils, her movements defying the laws of nature. It was as if she possessed supernatural agility, and her every move was precise and calculated.
Broken, his resolve unshaken, remained focused on their goal. As they drew closer to the creature's weak point, he swiftly dismounted from Polly's back, his body soaring through the air with grace. The moon's gentle rays illuminated him, giving him a surreal appearance as he lifted his sword high, with the moon serving as his stunning backdrop.
With a mighty shout, he declared, "Here I go! I'll deliver the final blow!"
He descended towards the creature's chest, his sword aimed with deadly precision. It was his moment to strike, the culmination of their desperate battle.
But the monster's health was too high to be defeated quickly with a single attack skill! His momentum was just a little too fast! Could he pull off this attack? He shook his head; there was no time to hesitate!
"That is impossible! Hahaha," Skywarden shouted. "I bet he's going to die a silly death!"
"Broken!" Elincia panicked as massive vines shot towards him, knowing he wouldn't be able to deliver the final blow in time.
Goldrich quaked with fear as he watched the scene unfold. "There's no way he can deal enough damage to finish off the beast in a single strike," he said, his voice trembling with dread.
Starfall, observing from a distance, furrowed her brow with concern. "He'll be in serious danger if he doesn't come up with a plan quickly," she muttered under her breath.
However, Broken was on target, ready to deliver the decisive blow. His sword glinted in the dim light as he gripped it tightly, charging towards the monster with a fierce battle cry.
"At least I have tried my best!" he yelled loudly.
But there was a big problem. The massive vines were about to strike him. He wouldn't be able to deliver the final blow; he would be killed first.
However, as the vines were about to hit him, a swift movement and a significant slash occurred around the vines. A figure in an assassin's outfit appeared-it was Charmelyn, who had saved him.
"Do it, Broken," she said softly.
"Thanks, Charmelyn..."
Just then, a loud explosion erupted from the other side of the creature's body.
It was Melliandra! She had launched a powerful attack from a distance, taking out a significant portion of the beast's health bar.
Broken smiled as he realized what had happened. "Thanks, Melliandra!"
"Right! This is the time!"
[Charged Attack (Active Skill) Lv. 3]
[Quick Strike (Active Skill) Lv. 3]
[Severing Strike (Active Skill)]
Charged with electric energy, the blade of his sword crackled and sparked as he swung it down with a deafening roar. Elincia's enchantment had infused his weapon with incredible power.
[Double Strikes (Conditional Passive Skill)]
The force of his strike was so immense that it sent a shockwave rippling through the air, throwing everyone in its vicinity off their feet and scattering energy like a cascade of
fireworks.
The beast remained standing, but the collective sigh of relief from the group signaled their understanding: the blow had been decisive.
They had conquered the beast!
"He did it? Impossible. Luck alone couldn't account for this," Skywarden exclaimed, utterly incredulous.
"His skill damage wasn't nearly as impressive as Starfall's or Elincia's," Goldrich added. "But with Melliandra and Charmelyn's help, he seized his moment. Yes, it was sheer luck. Yet, it seems fortune is in love with him."
"He did it?" Maylock repeated in astonishment. "There's no way he pulled this off purely by chance, right?" He was dumbfounded.
A massive explosion followed, and Broken's body was hurled through the air by the impact of his own attack. He soared momentarily, but Polly dashed forward and caught him. She skillfully maneuvered, allowing him to land safely on her back as she darted toward the ground.
[You have vanquished the Epic - Vine Horror Treant of Level 200 with triumphant success.] [The activation of the Bountiful Harvest skill caused an extremely rare reaction that requires additional time to process the results. The outcome will have to be postponed.]
[Be prepared for anything, as the outcome could be a fantastic gift or an absolute catastrophe, and no one can predict which will come to pass.]
Broken collapsed onto the ground, the remnants of the battle still visible around them. Dozens of glowing loot items lay scattered on the ground, all gravitating toward Elincia except for the prized drop from the raid boss, which unmistakably belonged to him.
Maylock was the first to approach Broken. "You did it, Broken, that's incredible."
However, something troubled Broken as he read the notification that had appeared before him. His brow furrowed with concern as he pondered the message.
"A gift or catastrophe, why?" he murmured, the uncertainty gnawing at him.

Freya and Marco, still watching the broadcast of the raid battle from the café, were stunned
by the outcome.
"Goddess Akidia was truly reckless to bestow such an extraordinary blessing on a single
person," Marco said, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Would the blessing have the same impact if given to someone else, Mr. Marco?" Freya asked,
her curiosity piqued.
"I'm not sure about that," he replied thoughtfully. "But it's clear that this blessing has become something terrifying in Leon's hands. It's really a combination of the right moment
and a huge opportunity."
Just then, Marco received an emergency call on his phone. He glanced at the message, and his expression turned urgent. "Freya, I need to go," he said abruptly, not offering any
explanation before quickly departing.
Freya watched Marco leave, her curiosity deepening. "Could this be related to Leon?" she
murmured softly.
She then pulled out her laptop and opened several documents. "Alright, I think I can make a
lot of money from today's events. I wonder what legal actions I can take against the parties broadcasting this video without everyone's consent in the scene, huh? Let's see..." she said, giggling to herself.
