Chapter 1123: Return (3)
The Blade Dancer Clan was busy with construction and exploration for the next few days.
Before Oceanus and his people arrived, Kyran convened again with Geir, the clan executives, and house leaders. He did not tell them about the Ogen Clan's pending arrival but told them his plans for the Blade Dancer Clan and asked for their insights. Unlike their first meeting, there was an obvious change in how most executives and house leaders treated Kyran.
The change was influenced mainly by the good feedback from the clan elders, especially Zigor's.
Nonetheless, a few members remained indifferent, making it hard to discern if they changed their opinion of Kyran.
Among these members were two executives and a house leader.
Kyran was not worried about the executives, but the house leader was someone he had noted since meeting with Shiloh and Uilleam— the Sound House Leader, Tehila. While it was true that Kyran had placed a mark on her, he had a strange inkling that she was not affected by it.
She followed everything Geir or Uilleam asked her to do, but whenever the latter two reported the completion of her tasks, Kyran could not shake an uneasy feeling that she was only going along with everything while bidding her time.
Why was Tehila bidding her time? Kyran did not know yet, but he remembered what Alta told him about her and could roughly guess some things. But since he lacked information, he could only observe her for now.
Thus far, Kyran had yet to see Tehila's shrewd side. It was starting to worry him, to be honest, but he could not do anything about it. In the meantime, he planned to instruct Uilleam and Oceanus to keep an eye on her once he returned to the Dragon plane.
When the day of the two clans' meeting finally arrived, an apparent tension was in the air inside the audience chamber.
Since there were more participants in the meeting, Kyran had Geir prepare the audience room rather than the room they used when he met with the elders.
The construction of the walls had been going well, and Geir could finally assign a few groups to clean or repair some of the important rooms in the main mansion. Thus, the audience chamber no longer appeared in a sorry state and could be used as the main meeting hall for more participants.
Kyran presided over the meeting between the two clans. However, the one who conducted the whole discussion was Geir.
Many things were discussed during the meeting. One of which was the confirmation of each clan's role and what the other could do for the other. Since the Blade Dancer Clan was in the middle of building their new stronghold in the unnamed plane, the Oceanus agreed to provide construction supplies and additional manpower.
In this way, the Blade Dancer Clan could focus more on the exploration of the plane's many regions.
The Blade Dancer Clan people agreed to this, and in return for the Ogen Clan's assistance, they promised to share the materials they would find during the exploration. They would also provide a complete list of rare materials they would find and allow the Ogen Clan to buy any from it at a discounted price or sell them to the outside market on behalf of the Blade Dancer Clan.
In case the rare materials were sold, the Ogen Clan would receive a commission based on the rarity of the material and how much it was sold.
The two clans also agreed to have friendly spars to improve each other. If the two clans' prominent innate magic had been the same, the friendly spare would also allow them to understand and learn each other's skills and spells.
Unfortunately, their innate magic had nothing in common, so even if they had gotten a better understanding of their skills and spells, they would not have been able to learn them.
Before any of the executives could suggest focusing only on improving each side's battle experience through the spar, Kyran told them that even if the two sides could not learn each other's skills and spells, understanding and learning them could allow them to receive enlightenment and even create new spells that would allow them to counter each other's specialties.
When everyone heard Kyran, there were several who voiced their unwillingness to continue with the spar. Kyran could not blame them. He said he would be creating a new force, with the Blade Dancer Clan and the Ogen Clan being part of it. However, this was the first time the two would meet.
They had yet to form a bond worthy of each other's trust, thus agreeing to share each other's skills and spells without reservation.
In the end, Kyran did not pursue the matter and simply told Geir and Oceanus to decide when the two clans believed the right time to share each other's skills and spells.
The meeting between the two proceeded for almost half a day before they finally dispersed.
A simple banquet was then prepared for the Ogen Clan's arrival.
Kyran did not attend the banquet and instead retired to his room to start his preparation for returning to the Dragon plane.
Truth be told, Kyran had wanted to return to the Dragon plane before the Ogen Clan arrived. He wanted to know the progress of the path that would connect the two realms as well as the new array formation that would allow the Regis Clan to increase their mage level.
Unfortunately, the internal injury he received when True Void remotely and forcefully took a great deal of Void magic energy from Kyran made it hard for him to use warp as well as communicate with Auto-one.
Because of this, Kyran was presented with only two options for returning to the Dragon plane. The first one, and probably the most reliable one yet troublesome, was going to a Junction Port and accessing the portal to go to the Dragon Plane. Unfortunately, all Junction Ports were on high alert because of his recent escapade to the nearest port to where they were.
This meant he would have more trouble producing a believable identity that would allow him to access the Dragon Plane's portal.
The second option Kyran had was to use the Tower of the Ancients' portal.
Like the other portals, Kyran also destroyed the one at the unnamed plane. However, he was confident he could fix it. He had to be careful when doing so as not to aggravate his injuries, but it was possible. In any case, the only thing he would need to fix was that portal since the portal leading to the Dragon Plane was still intact.
Aillos did attack Kyran right after he stepped out, so he could not destroy that portal.
Then again, Kyran had no intentions of destroying it because he planned to use it when returning to the Tower of the Ancients.
The following day, another transport ship was spotted outside the unnamed plane.
All surviving Blade Dancer Clan members, including the ones Kyran marked, were on board that ship.
The members of that ship did not have a hard time adjusting to their clan's new arrangement and sudden partnership with the Ogen Clan. This was because Kyran had been in contact with those he marked and had them slowly explain everything.
Moreover, the merchant clan that the ship belonged to was quite familiar with the Blade Dancer Clan's current state and supported the five marked members when they explained the changes.
Kyran asked Shiloh to look after and orient the newly arrived surviving Blade Dancer members. The latter did not have any qualms as most of them were part of the new generation he was already in charge of.
Another day passed with this, and finally, Kyran completed his preparation. He told Geir and Oceanus his plan to return and gave each of them a communication device that would directly contact him.
Geir and Oceanus offered to have a few representatives to escort Kyran to his destination. However, Kyran declined, telling them he already had an escort.
The two were somewhat confused, and before they could ask who his escort would be, the last person they thought of arrived and lowered her head before Kyran.
"A-Alta? Why are you...?"
Though Geir started to ask Alta why she came, he already guessed why she was there and felt somewhat conflicted.
"I'll be taking her along," Kyran told Geir. "Sorry for not telling you sooner."
Geir looked at Kyran in confusion, "But why take her? Wouldn't it be a problem to take her with you?"
Only a few from the Blade Dancer Clan, including Geir, were aware of Kyran's connection with the Dragon Clan. As far as Geir was concerned, Alta was not one of them. That was why he was surprised that Kyran decided to take her along.
"Her soul thread," Kyran started. "I know a way to fix it. That's why I'm taking her with me."
Geir and Oceanus were both dumbfounded. They never expected Kyran to know a way to fix a missing soul thread.
