Chapter 275 - Episode 275: Life Is So Full Of Surprise.
The sun is setting, we are standing on top of the cliff with all of the Black Oath Clan members. I'm looking at the castle on the Highland, there are so many holes on the walls and some of them have been covered with wood so the players can't enter through there. It seems that from the last 3 days, the Malevolent Clan has been getting bombarded by other clans but knowing that they barely lose any human resources that mean those clans failed miserably to get through their defense. I look back at the players from my clan and the average of the clan member's level is 372 which is good enough knowing there are more than a million members that are online right now.
We are waiting for our allies from the Alliance Kingdoms and the Eluna Empire, one of them is the Horizon Clan. We will start moving at 10 P.M. of in-game time because we are going to take them by a surprise. Right now, there are at least dozens of clans that are attacking the castle and they haven't reached the inside of the castle yet and are still on the lower ground because the Malevolent Clan members are showering them with spells, arrows, catapults, and ballistae. I think they're going to fail in taking down the Malevolent Clan since they barely make any progress, not just that but they haven't realized that the Malevolent Clan' allies are about to ambush them from their blind spot that only us players who can see them from the high ground.
Kyle sits down on the rock while eating his snack while me and Aven with the others are just lazing around. Ilvia is squinting and staring at the distance, then she's pointing her finger at something far away.
"They're here to watch again."
I look at what she's pointing at, and I can dozens of players standing at the edge of the cliff but I can't tell since I can't see their faces from here. I look at Ilvia and raise my eyebrows.
"They? Who?"
Aven looks at those players and raises his eyebrows while pulling grasses on the ground.
"Kingstar, Queenstar, Boschwell, and Kingstar's commanders. They have been watching the battle ever since the BZM event came out, I think they just want to see some action since they have been busy building the city."
I'm humming with understanding and then furrow my forehead and look at Aven.
"Wait, why don't they just participate in the BZM event?"
Aven and the others are chuckling and shaking their heads, Ian looks at me and raises his eyebrow.
"Well, if the Supremacist Clan participates in the BZM event, we don't have a chance at all to event touch the castle's wall. Imagine the real strongest clan from the Aarus Empire with all his allies are entering the battlefield, I bet they can conquer the Highland in just a day and nobody can take them down."
I look at Ian and point my thumb at the back.
"But there are so many other clans that can compete with him, right? For example the Diamond Clan, the Cloud Veil Clan, and the other Ophiuchus."
Chris scoffs and nods in agreement.
"Well, you're right about it. There are so many clans that can compete with the Supremacist Clan, but what about us? If those big clans are clashing for the Highland, we will become a speck of dust in the air. Neither them nor us want that, so that's why all the Ophiuchus declared that they won't participate until a few clans managed to conquer the Highland. Basically, they're just giving us time before the real war actually begins."
I'm humming with understanding, and then Kyle and the others are approaching us, he looks at us while raising his eyebrows.
"What are you guys talking about? It sounds exciting."
We look at Kyle and the others while they're finding a spot to sit, Aven tells them about the reason why I asked them why Kingstar didn't participate in the BZM event. Kyle and the others are chuckling and saying the same thing as what Ian and Chris just said earlier, but then Kyle sighs while staring at the Highland.
"There's actually another reason why they all didn't participate in the BZM, it's because they're waiting for the real tournament for the BZM event. I heard a rumor that the BZM event will be used as a yearly championship game where players compete professionally, their sponsors want them to debut their clans during that time. So yeah, you guys don't have to worry about them since they won't be bothering us."
We are all humming with understanding and then look at Kingstar and the others with him, then we hear footsteps coming from the back. Oscario and his clan members are finally here, Oscario and the same guy that been standing next to him approach us. Oscario looks at the battlefield on the bottom while humming with understanding, then he looks at Kyle.
"So, we are going to stick to the plan which strikes them at night?"
Kyle nods in agreement.
"Yeah, we still have to wait for our other allies to come. They should be here an hour from now, so just chill and make sure you prepared everything."
Oscario nods.
"Yeah we have already prepared everything, we are good to go even if you want us to go down there right now. Anyway, have you heard about what happened earlier today?"
Kyle raises his eyebrow.
"Are you talking about the subject? Yeah, I heard it happened in the Aarus Empire and Eluna Empire, huh? How was yours? Because we managed to defeat one today, well actually it wasn't us who defeated the subject but it was Trevor."
Oscario is humming and then he shrugs while sitting down on the grass.
"It's the same over there, Lothair and Diamond with their commanders managed to defeat the subject. I heard that Kingstar also single-handedly defeat the subject in the Aarus Empire, and there was more than one subject in the Aarus Empire, there were three of them. Queenstar defeated one and Boschwell and his commanders defeated the last one. I think we need to focus on this matter first rather than trying to conquer the Highland, this thing is more important."
Cecilia looks at Oscario and nods in agreement.
"You're right, we were thinking the same thing. It's just I don't think we can do much about it though since those subjects are too strong for us, but if there are only a few hundreds or even thousands of them I think we can deal with it."
The guy with a yellow-haired guy that's always beside Oscario finally says something.
"The problem is that we only know how many people that went missing that has been reported, but we have no idea how many people that haven't been reported or discovered by us that went missing. So even though right now there are at least thousands of people that have been reported, there at least more than we know."
Valentino looks at the guy and tilts his head while nodding in agreement.
"Dennise is right, thinking about how many subjects out there have nothing to do with us and talking about it isn't going to help at all. It's none of our business and we are just going to help the Ophiuchus to take down Kalitzar and that's it, let them think about it since they have more solid information than us. We just need to be prepared when they're going to request for our help, and that's it, so don't think about it too much."
Ever since I started playing this game, my life has become more colorful. I remember a saying that life is full of mystery and full of surprise and that's what I'm having right now. This has become my second life and people have been saying that, now I believe them and I'm grateful to Mister Becker for making this game for us. If only he's still alive, I bet everything will become brighter and colorful than this but I guess life is full of mystery.
It's 9 P.M. and I'm so nervous since all of our allies are finally here with us. Kyle looks down to check on the situation on the Highland, everything is so peaceful down there. I can see that the Malevolent Clan members are fixing the walls and covering them with woods, I can believe they're still standing strong after dozens of clans invaded them. Oscario and Dennise are standing next to Kyle and they're pointing at the roads down there, and I can't hear their conversation since I'm far from them.
After they're done discussing the plans with all the clan leaders, Kyle turns around and looks at all of us.
"Alright, ladies and gents. It's time to move."
Aven looks at me while smirking.
"Are you ready, Allen? Your mind will get blown as soon as we are on the battlefield. I want you to remember, keep running forward and keep your eyes wide open."
I'm gripping my sword's handle so tightly and then nod while exhaling deeply and nervously.
"Yeah, I'm ready."
