Chapter 99 - Together
"Alright, I will tell you what it was, but let's go and clean up first. Wait for me here and I will prepare the bathtub for us," Cedric commented as he stood up.
Brione sat down on the bed and her eyes trailed off to Cedric's back. Her eyes widened and her face paled as soon as her eyes fell on them.
Birthmarks. He had it. He… He was Gavin.
She immediately stood up from the bed and ran to him. She caught up to him just before he opened the door of the bathroom. She hugged him tightly as tears started to flow out from her eyes, they streamed down like a waterfall.
"I knew it… It's you," she whispered, sobbing uncontrollably. There were too many emotions that she was going through at that moment. She was crying unbearably and that was making her gasp for air. She knew she couldn't be wrong.
Cedric turned around and asked, "you saw the birthmarks, right?"
"Yes, they're there. Both of them, like a map. You're Gavin and I'm sure of it. Don't you dare deny this now because I won't buy it!" Brione answered him as she wiped her tears. They kept on rolling down her cheeks.
He smiled and said, "that was what I wanted to talk to you about, Bri. Let's do it once we have our clothes on okay? So come with me and let's clean up first."
Brione nodded, still sobbing as she let him pull her inside the bathroom. Instead of going into the bathtub, both of them cleaned themselves up under the shower. She stared at him in silence while he started cleaning her up. She was still sobbing, so he turned off the shower and pulled her into his arms for a tight embrace.
"I guess you do know me really well," he whispered as he kissed Brione's head.
"Did your memories also come back to you already? Do you remember everything now, that you are Gavin? I missed calling your name, I missed having you around, I missed you so much. Oh God, you are alive, Gavin. I have a lot of questions but it can wait. What matters now is that you are Gavin. Can I call you Gav now?" Brione asked.
She raised her head to look at him and Gavin nodded as he added, "You can call me Gavin whenever we are alone together. But with other people, you must still address me as Cedric. However, it's much safer if you just call me Darling, always."
"Okay then, Darling it is" Brione muttered.
"You will get cold. Let's finish cleaning ourselves up…" Gavin commented with a smile.
Brione nodded and both of them stepped out of the shower quickly. Brione dried his hair and Gavin too, did the same for her. None of them said anything and? Brione could not help but stare at him with those lovely eyes of hers.
"I know I'm handsome but I feel like I will melt down if you don't stop staring at me like that. Can't you see how difficult it is for me to control myself not to take you right here, again?"
Brione chuckled because she had noticed how hard he was while they were taking their quick shower. Even though she was sore and uncomfortable after all the lovemaking, she felt much more absorbed with finding out that her hunch was right and the man with her now was her Gavin.
She had to secretly pinch herself several times to make sure that she was not dreaming. Gavin pulled her on the couch to sit. He first prepared hot chocolate for both of them before he sat down beside her.
"Here, drink this while you listen to everything that I have to say," Gavin whispered followed by a deep sigh. Brione took the mug of hot chocolate and smiled on seeing Gavin already using the mug that she gave him for having his hot chocolate.
Gavin saw her smile and said, "I initially planned to display this as a very prized possession, but I feel like using this more often is better because it will always remind me of your silent confession."
"Stop teasing me. You don't know the wretched dilemma I went through because of you. I was so scared and I really didn't want to hurt anyone…" Brione commented with a pout and felt Gavin holding her hand and kissing her knuckles.
"I know and I am sorry. I pray and hope that my memories will return soon as well. The situation is a bit complicated now, Bri. Father found out about it first by retrieving the results of my mother's ultrasound.
He asked for it as soon as I told him about Gavin and my resemblance. It took a little time to retrieve that file but luckily we managed to do so. That evidence clearly stated that my mother had twins… identical twins.
I called Noah after my discussion with Father and he relayed the results of the handwriting analysis, which you can already guess. I told him to keep it to himself and that I will be the one to tell you about it.
Uncle Sean suspects that the man responsible for the abduction of my mother took the first baby with him before running away, without knowing that my mother had twins and that baby was me.
Mother probably managed to deliver my twin Cedric after that man fled there with me and when my father arrived at the place with his rescue team. My father was also not aware that my mother had twins."
Gavin continued and told Brione the rest of the details. About Duncan, about his mother and the speculation Uncle Sean made with respect to how things must have happened before it came to this.
"Oh my God. Uncle Damiel? I mean do you really think he has something to do with it?" Brione gasped as she tried to process everything Gavin said.
"You've known him for so long, right? I don't have my memories for now so I don't really know him. We are doing an investigation on him, to clear things up… But remember that this matter is confidential Brione because we don't know who the enemy is and is not. Duncan is someone around and we must not underestimate him."
Gavin heaved a long sigh and went on to tell Brione about their current plan.
"You mean to say that you will now stay with me, as Gavin, in country D? What about Father?" Brione exclaimed.
"I will still help him but Will will be taking care of most of the tasks. Now you have found out that I am Gavin and you must follow the script my Father and I are formulating, to get to Duncan. Things are really very complicated as of now Bri and as much as possible I don't want you to get involved in any of this."
Brione pulled Gavin in for a hug and said, "Don't say that because you know me. I will always get myself involved in your matters, Darling. I will help you. I will be here with you and my family, with you like always till the end. We will fight this together…"
