Chapter 2: Third Chance, Reincarnated
Chapter 2: Third Chance, Reincarnated
Author Note: I changed quite a lot of things, hope you like it!
--- Chapter 1 ---
Blue Wind Empire, Drifting River City.
Within the inner courtyard of the Yu Clan, a young boy with short black hair and pinchable cheeks sits down near a rock. He wore a loose white robe with a black sash, pants, and shoes, making him look cuter than your average child.
Leaning on the rock, the young boy stared at the flowing river with dark, gleaming gold eyes. Although he was a child, there is a hint of maturity in his expression.
Most of it was disbelief.
A sigh escaped the boy's mouth, "Six years have passed."
"I couldn't remember much of my past life, but I'm a reincarnator without a doubt."
"Now I'm in Cultivation World. Tsk, I can't catch a break at all."
Six years ago, Hayate Kurogami reincarnated as the fourth son of the Yu Clan's Patriarch. He was named Yu Long. As cliche as it was, Hayate Kurogami couldn't do anything about it.
After six years, he could only accept this new identity.
What's more bothersome is that he got reincarnated into the world of Against the God.
Yes, Yu Long knew this world, but not so much. He lost his interest after the main character went to the Divine Tournament or whatever it was to enter the white pearl thingy.
After reading a few more chapters, he didn't find much joy and stopped reading the novel.
At least he reincarnated into a Blue Polar Star. Yes, this seemingly low-level star is a literal 'Starter Package' for cultivation with three God Legacies and many other things.
Given the information Yu Long gathered, he knew Yun Che was about the same age as him. In fact, He's only one or two months younger than the protagonist.
Aih, how unfortunate this third life is.
"Young master, young master!" Someone shouted.
Yu Long recognized this voice immediately and peeked, finding his maid walking around the courtyard. Maybe because he was small, the rock hid him well.
The maid's name is Li Li. Well, Yu Long called her Lily.
Lily is a petite girl in a green maid robe. She has long black hair styled in a bun and brown eyes. Her face might look ordinary, but it makes her unique, like your next-door type of girl.
"Lily, I'm here." He waved his hand.
"Young master, you're giving me a panic attack. Please don't disappear all of a sudden." Lily walked to him with a pout.
Of course, Yu Long is no ordinary boy. He smiled and answered, "I'm bored."
"I don't think sitting and learning words I already know is productive."
"Observing the beauty of nature is superior..."
Lily felt troubled, thinking about how well her young master spoke compared to other young masters.
He's the youngest of the four Yu Clan's young masters, making him the abnormality within the clan. Well, it also shows just how talented he was.
After all, he's only six.
"Anyway, Madam is calling you, young master." Lily placed her hands on the hip.
"Oh?" Yu Long was interested.
Although he has read Against the God to a certain extent, experiencing the world firsthand is different. Many details the novel doesn't convey always make him flabbergasted.
That's why Yu Long asked for books above anything else.
Knowledge is power!
"Let's go." Yu Long hopped and ran toward his mother's room. They lived in the same courtyard, so a few seconds of walk was enough for him to reach the room.
He entered the room and saw a mature lady knitting something.
Yu Long's mother is a green-eyed lady in her late twenties. Her black hair was loose, draping over her bosom. She wore a casual red and white robe, giving her a motherly look.
She's the fourth wife of Yu Clan's Patriarch, bearing the surname Meng previously and the given name Xin.
"Mother." Yu Long hugged Yu Xin, rubbing his head against her soft mountains.
It was heavenly, not going to lie.
Yu Xin giggled at her son's spoiled act and stroked his hair gently.
"You're asking for Martial Arts Books yesterday, right?"
"Mother couldn't find much, so I can only gather some. You can check them later in your room."
"You're the best, mother!" Yu Long happily laughed.
Yu Xin shook her head, "This much is nothing."
Yu Xin has heard that Yu Long's half-brothers spend piles of Profound Coins buying useless toys. Compared to them, Yu Long is simply a gift sent by heaven.
He's a good, curious child.
Obedient and never act like a spoiled child unless it's related to a book or rather knowledge.
As a mother, how could she not support his passion?
"Let's have lunch." Yu Xin glanced at Lily, making the maid nod.
Yu Long sat on the chair near his mother and said, "I heard the eldest brother was renting a Martial Artist to be his teacher."
"How was it?"
"It's... Well, amusing?" Hearing her son's question, Yu Xin laughed.
"On the first day. Your eldest brother fired the teacher because he couldn't teach him Profound Skills."
"..." Yu Long's mouth twitched.
Yu Long's eldest brother is the first young master of Yu Clan. His name is Yu Kai, and he's the son of the Patriarch's first wife.
Yu Kai is six years older than Yu Long, meaning he's twelve.
His Profound Entrances isn't mature yet, so he couldn't possibly cultivate Profound Arts, let alone Profound Skills.
'Damn it, this place is full of clowns.' Yu Long sighed helplessly.
"I feel bad for the teacher."
"Indeed." Yu Xin nodded in agreement.
"Then, again. Our clan wasn't 'inherently.' focused on martial arts."
Yu Clan is the only clan in Drifting River City. They are focused more on business as they have restaurants, shops, and brothels in seven neighboring cities.
They also have some franchises within New Moon City and Blue Wind Imperial City, generating 'slightly.' better incomes than others.
Although Yu Clan is a business-focused clan, it doesn't mean they are bullyable.
Yu Long's father is quite a man. He knew his weakness, so he formed several business connections with stronger clans and even the Black Moon Merchant Guild.
Black Moon Merchant Guild's connection with Yu Clan might be weak, but that's enough to repel greedy cultivators in the lower realm. All they needed was to stay humble and gather more experts.
But with idiots like Yu Kai, Yu Long doesn't think this clan will last long.
"Madam, Young Master." Lily brought a tray.
"Let's eat." Yu Xin placed down her knitting tools.
...
After finishing his food, Yu Long bade farewell to his mother and checked his room.
He entered the room full of books, seeing a new pile near his bed.
A grin appeared on his youthful face as he immersed himself in a Martial Arts Book.
Yu Long read until evening, feeling a little sleepy.
Tsk, he hates being a child.
Yu Long doesn't know how old he was in his previous life, but he's definitely older than six.
Rubbing his eyes, Yu Long yawned and jumped onto the bed. He stared at the tiled ceiling and fell asleep.
Unfamiliar memories flew by, and Yu Long suddenly gasped for air.
He opened his eyes and sat on the bed, patting his chest painfully.
"What was that?"
"Uugh, my head..." Yu Long cursed, sweating profusely.
That dream feels so real.
Yu Long could feel new memories resurfacing just like one year ago. He rubbed his forehead and mumbled, "Kaiju Maker?"
"What's that?"
As Yu Long delved into his memories, he discovered about Kaiju Maker.
He frowned and mumbled, "Is this supposed to be my cheat?"
"I know it." He laughed excitedly. "There is no way a reincarnator has no cheat!"
Yu Long walked out of his room and tried to do something.
He was searching for something.
When a green insect came into Yu Long's vision, his golden eyes shone brightly.
Yu Long swatted the green insect and felt a weird sensation in his hand.
A green sphere slowly formed with a magical yet invisible swirl.
Seeing the sphere land on his hand, Yu Long heard something at the back of his head.
Swallow it.
Swallow it.
Yu Long brought the sphere into his mouth and felt another piece of information rushing in.
Night Vision (F) Acquired.
Echolocation (F) Acquired.
"Dayuum!"
"So cool!"
At this moment, Yu Long's new journey as the Kaiju Maker finally started!
