Chapter 72: The Ruler of the Ruins

Chapter 72: The Ruler of the Ruins

In the center of the dimly lit room, there was a large two-meter-long crystal floating in the middle of the room. A number of bands of magic circles were slowly spinning around the blue-white crystal.

In the corner of the room where the walls, the floor, and even the ceiling were painted with ancient letters, “a girl” was crouched on her knees. On its back, only one of its wings was black.

She was a pure demon born from a demon god, Mercumenes.

She broke down.

She was given the mission of resurrecting Lucifera.

(Note: I can’t seem to remember if I used Lucifer or Lucifera but Lucifer Order is what I could remember… let’s stick to Lucifera for now~)

However, after she saw an existence equivalent to a “God”, she focused on her survival. Her “Survival” function went out of control and she was about to lose her goal of resurrecting the demon god.

She should just hide in a faraway place, but her goal prevented her from doing so. In order to achieve the resurrection of the Demon God, they couldn’t leave the kingdom.

Mercumenes only came here to ‘live’…to escape.

It’s because she was a demon who has a survival skill that she arrived at this place alive. This ess a realm that even the Princess Senko couldn’t reach.

I took control of it.

In addition to the vein of land, if you transfer your own magical power, you can create and deploy powerful demons. Even though I knew it was pointless for that man, I decided it was enough to buy time.

No, that man would never come here.

“Oh, yes. What would someone like that man want from a decaying ruin…”

Her broken thoughts continued to conveniently deny the worst. And the result was–.

She was curled up in a corner of the room while a creeping fear ran down to her back.

When the ruins detected the intruder, it was all too late. When she looked up, a square screen appeared next to the large crystal, showing the scene outside of the ruins.

It was a girl dressed in a pink outfit, a girl in men’s clothing, and a boy with dark hair.

They looked away from the carriage, talked about something, and then–

”Wha–?!”

Immediately after the girl swung a strange stick, what looked like a door suddenly appeared.

No sound or magic power was transmitted through the images only. But it was clearly using magic.

Creation magic? No, it’s impossible. Was it storage magic? That one was also the most difficult long lost ancient magic. So what did the girl do?

“No, no. The magic was performed by that dark-haired…”

I could still feel it from a distance. It’s a powerful magic to the point of disaster. It was not just because of the images, but also because her senses was so keen.

I knew it.

This was definitely from The Black Warrior.

Then that boy was Shiva’s true identity. But, why was he doing here in this place?

“You’re following my trail…?”

Mercumenes was gripped by fear.

She was impatient to do something that she sent the Huge Rock Eater to do something. Because there was no time to adjust it, that demon that was created at maximum strength–.

“A blow, you say…?”

The Huge Rock Eater was silenced by a single magical shell released by a strange weapon.

He continued to fire a number of Wandering Knights at the ground floor of the temple, but they were also wiped out in a daze.

”What, what…? What does he want…?”

He was inexplicably accompanied by a girl and a girl who were hundreds of steps inferior to him. He himself was not in the form of a ‘Black Warrior’.

I don’t know his purpose.

Even if I wanted to know, it would be too horrible to get close enough to probe.

“Is it because of me…?”

The horrific imagination was not something she could shrug off on the side. There was only one way out of this ruin if you want to escape. If you get lost in the labyrinth, you would have an opening. But. eventually, you would meet her, if you were aiming for the exact lower floor.

“Purpose … that’s right. First we need to know what he wants…”

Compulsively controlled by the obsession, Mercumenes didn’t care about her own residual magical power. She just kept hurling powerful demons at them.

She observed their expression, the movement of their mouth in detail and finally got a clue.

”What are you looking for, what are you searching for…?”

If they get it, were going to walk away unaware of our presence?

But I don’t know what it was.

was there anything in these decaying ruins that a strong man like him would want?

They began to eat in a carefree manner.

Even though they were in the dungeon, they started cooking from the ingredients they got and put down the stone oven from wherever they had taken it from to bake a pizza.

The girl in the man’s clothes has a dumbfounded look of abandonment. But, the boy and the girl behave as if it were a matter of course.

Their rapid progress didn’t end when they finish eating.

At first, they were cautious as if they were watching what was going on. But now, the moment they met, the boy was sending magic bullets flying from a strange weapon to obliterate the demons.

To put it colloquially, it looked really troublesome.

I could no longer pretend to be something I was not.

Mercumenes simply poured her own magic power into the great crystal, hoping that it would stall them, even just for a moment.

However, they easily reached the twentieth underground level.

A third of the way to the deepest level.

I couldn’t do it anymore. There was no point in trying anything. At that pace, they would be in the control room by noon tomorrow.

Right after she was overcome by resignation, she let go of her mind.

”What…? That door again…?”

The boy made up what looks like a door (as the girl did).

He opened the door and the three of them walked through it.

When the door is closed with a slam, the three figures, including the boy, disappear.

”Teleport… Is it magic…?”

Although it was completely different from what Mercumenes knew, given the circumstances, it was safe to conclude it like that.

If that was the case, she should be able to escape from the ruins during this time.

She no longer had that magical power left — she didn’t have any of it.
