Chapter 87: The Misfits (Intermission)
Chapter 87: The Misfits (Intermission)
An old man and a quite young-looking woman with tattoos on her face could be seen across from each other on their seats, sipping some tea. The peaceful yet strange atmosphere in the room stayed for a few minutes before the woman decided to speak her thoughts out.
"Winster."
"Yes, hon? Am I still in trouble?"
"I don't forget."
"O-Okay... But I want you to remember, you're the only one I love! No matter how many beauties heaven will send, I will only choose you! You're my only one!"
"Keep those words to yourself."
"Yes, hon." Winster smiles dearly. "Sorry for giving this task to you."
"You should be. I'm on my way to Aqianis underwater, but you placed me in that class without my permission. I already let your infidelity slide. But not this."
"U-Uhh, hon... I didn't do anything bad... I'm just being friendly... I-It's not my fault if the cute lady mistook it as me flirting with her. I'm innocent here, hon." Winster said in a childish manner while making his eyes wide to make it cuter, which is a completely disgusting sight for any person who would see it, especially since he's an old man with a massive figure. However, from looking at her face... It's quite effective.
The woman was showing some sympathetic look, doubting if her judgment was wrong or not, if she just misunderstood her husband. Yet at the same time, her wrath from just reminiscing was preventing her to forgive him. "Haaah... Let's not talk about this."
"Aye~ Anyway, how's the kid that I'm talking about?"
"A little cocky and definitely have some attitude."
"Oho~?"
"But, he's more interesting than I thought. Who wouldn't expect him to have this mysterious air around him? Perhaps what they said was accurate."
"Really? I think he looks innocent and charming."
"Is that so?"
"Matter of a fact, I already told you my first meeting was when he was beating that kid. If it weren't for that incident, their opinions would probably side with him but what he did only alarmed them. I can't also blame them since there are too many mysterious phenomena that happened during the examination."
"Bunch of wimps."
"Because of that, they all rooted those mysterious events on Claude Weiss. I bet they would strongly reject him on attending this academy if they saw him beating that kid, or could even be worse if they directly report it to the council. Some people in the school committee have strong ties with the council." Winster puffs a cigar.
"I already made a saving grace on him since he piqued my interest, even though I feel bad for his succubus master. I admit he can bring something to the table. The Belmont and Kramer family are already racing against the clock. I wonder if they also thought of that kid too?"
The woman laughs hysterically before saying. "Investing in people again? When will you learn? His facial expressions are too hard to read. Let's hope he wouldn't cause us any trouble."
"He wouldn't, hahaha! Until now, we have explored and dug deep into the conundrum, and found some beautiful wonders of the mystery of our world. Yet, we're barely scratching the surface with how vast and bottomless our world is. Plus, I'm certain you sent him the message right?"
"I did." The woman glances at the scenery outside. "I can see that he's a pretty good kid. His eyes were tainted... He looks like a troublemaker. Fufufufu~ Perhaps, taking this job is not bad as I thought it would be. The other kids aside from him are also interesting. Very unique. I hope they have the mental fortitude to swim against the current. What did Luke say about the kid? Did he request you anything?"
"Luke didn't say a word. I trust him that he won't do something malicious." Headmaster Winster gazes at her face. "Sienna... Is Linda still mad at me?"
"She sure does. Once she appears, go talk to her thoroughly. You know how emotional she can be."
"I know, hahaha..."
With a few laughs resonating in the room, a massive turmoil of mana was sensed by two across from their location. Two surges of unique mana collide against each other. It was intense and frightening. The two immediately took action. While on their way, Sienna thought to herself. 'There's no way that's him right? Did I speak too soon?'
Upon arrival at the scene, white translucent compressed mana with images of dragons are flying through the sky, attacking a man who's holding a mace in his right hand, fending off the dragon spirit flying towards him. The two young men were wearing silver-colored uniforms.
The effect of the fight was devasting as the tranquil greenery was destroyed by their fight and only continues on which will make everything into a wasteland. Some people are scattered around them, creating a barrier around them as some of them are interfering in the fight. However, they're getting overpowered by them. Outside of the barrier, students were seen running for their dear lives away from two S-class students fighting each other. Every impact of their magic was causing mana eruption around them.
However, it came to end after Winster and Sienna slipped through the barrier with ease and apprehended them with the use of their spirit. The two were locked on the ground unconscious.
"What's happening here?" Winster grittily said to one of the people.
"W-We're not sure, headmaster. Upon our arrival, we saw the fight was already transpiring."
Winster looks over the four students and over the near building that had a massive hole in it. "S-class students... Two of them too... The first day of school, yet they're already causing trouble for us? Are all the students okay?"
"Yes, luckily enough, all students are okay."
"How about the cafeteria?"
"They're all fine, headmaster. We evacuated them."
"That's pleasant to hear. I'll take these two idiots with me then."
"Yes!" All of them responded.
On Sienna's side, she was looking for any casualties that may have caused mishaps to some student bystander. While inspecting, she found some odd-looking destruction, not away from Winster. In her eyes, this does look like someone fought here; however, it's abrupt. Walking further, she saw a tiny flame burning on a single leaf that's laying on the wood—also had an odd-looking color which is dark. Her hand picks it up and the flame extinguished.
"... Fire? And, an odd-looking one too..." Sienna narrows her eyelids to the leaf on her hand.
