Chapter 1018 - Crisis Lingers
Chapter 1018: Crisis Lingers
Looking at the several-meter-tall pile of stones on the ground, Mo Qingge was stunned and went speechless for a good long while.
Mo Qingge looked at Mo Wen. “Mo Wen, you...”
What had happened? Had Mo Wen ransacked the entire Creation Pool? Spiritual Transforming Pearls were treasures that were not often seen, even back in the Ancient Age. Though Creation Pool could create such treasures, they were not easy to get. Even the Ancient Age Creation Sect could not obtain them so easily.
Yet, there were at least 10,000 Spiritual Transforming Pearls in the pile before her!
“I have reaped benefits during this trip to the Creation Pool. I’ve also obtained a few Spiritual Transforming Stones. These Spiritual Transforming Stones are all for you. If these aren’t enough, just come find me and I’ll give you more,” Mo Wen said.
He had only taken out a quarter of the Spiritual Transforming Stones he’d obtained. It wasn’t that he was reluctant to give Mo Qingge more, but rather the shock of seeing so many Spiritual Transforming Stones would be too much for her. Even seeing a quarter of it was rather alarming.
Mo Qingge managed to respond after a long pause. She raised her eyebrows, her expression changing. Green light burst out from her body and enveloped the surrounding thousand meters.
“Mo Wen, quickly put these Spiritual Transforming Stones away. You have been too careless.”
If others knew that he had so many Spiritual Transforming Stones, it would certainly cause a disturbance in the Peng Lai Immortal Realm. If people in the Huatian Palace knew about the stones, they might get greedy and spare no effort to rob him of them.
Now was not the time to investigate how Mo Wen had obtained so many Spiritual Transforming Stones. Instead, they needed to try their best to make sure no one else found out about it.
Spiritual Transforming Stones were also called Creation Stones, or Spiritual Transforming Pearls. They contained pure Creation Qi inside them – the essence of Creation Qi. If one had enough Creation Stones, even without entering Creation Pool, they too could cultivate the Light of Creation.
Mo Wen smiled indifferently, seemingly unconcerned about any potential thefts. Others had to first be capable of snatching his things from him. There were, in all likelihood, very few people in the Source World that could make him cautious.
“You keep them. I intended to give them to you from the start. I still have more,” Mo Wen replied.
Mo Qingge gave Mo Wen a searching look and said nothing more. With a wave of her hand, she kept one-fifth of the Creation Stones away. She left the rest untouched.
“This is enough,” Mo Qingge said plainly. With just that one-fifth, she now possessed more than two thousand Spiritual Transforming Stones. She owed Mo Wen a huge debt of gratitude. Initially, it would have been of great help if Mo Wen could obtain just one Spiritual Transforming Stone for her, yet now she had been given more than two thousand.
With so many Spiritual Transforming Stones, she need not be worried about the Massacre’s Host acting up again for a thousand years.
Seeing that Mo Qingge would not take the rest, Mo Wen hesitated for a bit, before keeping away the rest of the Spiritual Transforming Stones. A person like Mo Qingge would not accept any more than was necessary from others.
“I still have quite a few Spiritual Transforming Stones. If you need them in the future, you can find me anytime to get more,” he reiterated. Mo Wen had obtained more than sixty thousand Spiritual Transforming Stones from the bottom of the ocean of creation. Of course, no one would complain about having too many such treasures. Even for Mo Wen, Spiritual Transforming Stones were very useful.
“A man’s wealth is his ruin when it causes the greed of others. You should know this. A single Spiritual Transforming Stone appearing in the Peng Lai Immortal Realm would already cause a stir. Likely even the lords of Huatian Palace will not be unaffected. In the future, don’t just take out Spiritual Transforming Stones like that again.”
Mo Qingge knew Mo Wen could see reason once she explained things. She was afraid that he did not understand the severity of the situation. The value of a single Spiritual Transforming Stone was incalculable. If he casually brought out a few thousand, or even a few hundred Spiritual Transforming Stones in the future, he would certainly cause a commotion.
Mo Qingge did not want to know how many Spiritual Transforming Stones Mo Wen obtained from Creation Pool. Reluctantly, however, she estimated that he had obtained no small number. Before this, two thousand Spiritual Transforming Stones were unbelievable for her, indeed unimaginable, let alone saying that she would ever obtain that amount one day.
“Understood.” Mo Wen was not stupid. He understood immediately when Mo Qingge told him this that Spiritual Transforming Stones were most likely a rarity outside.
“You know, I’ve always been very interested in how you came to the Peng Lai Immortal Realm. Have you found an entrance that our Huatian Palace is unaware of?”
Mo Qingge stared at Mo Wen, curious. There were many entrances to the Peng Lai Immortal Realm – most of them guarded by the Huatian Palace. The remaining handful of entrances were guarded by heretic organizations, such as Hades Mountain, or Demonic Sky. Of course, since the Peng Lai Immortal Realm was a remnant space from the Ancient Age, it contained many secrets. It was not unheard of to know entrances that others didn’t.
Mo Wen’s sudden arrival in the Peng Lai Immortal Realm was not recorded by the Huatian Palace. He could be said to be an illegal immigrant. If Mo Qingge had not helped Mo Wen to settle the matter, he would most likely have been seized by the Huatian Palace for investigation.
“It’s a secret!” Mo Wen said after pondering for a moment. The entrance that he used was directly connected to his hometown. He didn’t want that place to be defiled by others. Besides, that place was rather mysterious. Mo Wen had theorized that it was likely located in the Heavenly Ruins.
“Since you don’t want to answer, I shall not press you.” Mo Qingge nodded and changed the topic. Moving on, she said plainly, “Next time when you come to the Peng Lai Immortal Realm, it would be better for you to report your arrival, and use the entrances guarded by the Huatian Palace. Should you continue to appear so unexpectedly in the Peng Lai Immortal Realm, you will draw the attention of the upper echelons of the Huatian Palace.”
“Naturally.”
Even Mo Wen was unsure of how he had arrived at the Peng Lai Immortal Realm. Aside from that, since he now guessed that his hometown entrance most probably led to Heavenly Ruins, it was even more unlikely for him to enter the Peng Lai Immortal Realm there. After all, Heavenly Ruins was a dangerous place that even Supreme Profundity level cultivators might perish in. He was surely lucky to have been able to emerge unscathed from there last time.
“Now that you have reached the Primordial Soul Realm, to ease your travel in and out of the realm in the future, I will induct you into the Senate directly. You won’t normally have many tasks, and will be considerably at leisure.”
As the Deputy Director of the Senate, Mo Qingge naturally held great power and had the authority to admit someone directly into the Senate without assessment. Moreover, usually, veterans in the Senate would often be obligated more or less, to complete several tasks. Mo Wen, in contrast, was free of such duties.
“Many thanks.” Mo Wen nodded in acknowledgment.
“I should be thanking you instead,” Mo Qingge said calmly. “Oh right, and it’s better if you were to make a trip back to the main space. During your time in The Path of Creation, many sects in the Peng Lai Immortal Realm tried to leave using the entrances guarded by the Huatian Palace. I held them off. I guess they wanted to go out and make trouble with you.”
“Which sects were involved in this?” Mo Wen narrowed his eyes. He could more or less guess which sects were part of the matter spoken of by Mo Qingge. They were most likely the sects that were pursuing a vendetta against the 34th cult leader of the Ming Cult. In the past, Zhang Poxiao had offended a lot of people in the Peng Lai Immortal Realm. As the unofficial successor of Zhang Poxiao, naturally the sects would not let Mo Wen off the hook so easily.
Of course, the most important reason these sects were hunting Mo Wen was for his possessions. Not only was the Sacred Fire Sword a sacred level treasure, but it was also key to accessing the treasures of that particular Divine Illusionary Realm Mighty Immortal Cultivator, Zhang Poxiao. Every sect in the Peng Lai Immortal Realm, except for the Huatian Palace, would covet such an object.
Mo Wen had been in The Path of Creation for more than a year. With only a few upper echelons in the Huatian Palace aware of his whereabouts, the sects couldn’t find him in the Peng Lai Immortal Realm. They, therefore, most likely believed he had returned to the main space, prompting many of them to head there in pursuit.
Thankfully, Mo Qingge had been in the Huatian Palace and prevented them from doing so. For if those people went to the main space and hadn’t been able to find Mo Wen, they would most likely attack the people and sects related to him.
“There is the Sinister Wind Sect, the Shattering Cloud Sect, the Sword Valley, and the Petrification Cult... and, of course, the Blood Evil Temple.”
Mo Qingge calmly went on to list more than 20 sects. Even Mo Wen had not expected that many sects to actually try to seek him out in the main space. In previous decades, it was unlikely any sect from the Peng Lai Immortal Realm had wanted to go to the main space.
The Blood Evil Temple! Mo Wen scowled. In the past, the temple leader and two elders from Blood Evil Temple ambushed him when he was in Li’an City, and they had intended to kill him. Mo Wen had not forgotten.
Most of the sects involved likely were those that had a quarrel with Zhang Poxiao. Naturally, there were also sects who coveted the Sacred Fire Sword, and Zhang Poxiao’s other treasures.
“Among these sects, some of them are no laughing matter. You must deal with them carefully.”
Mo Qingge frowned. There were a few sects that gave even her a headache. The Peng Lai Immortal Realm had a long history of sectarianism. These sects might not be as prosperous as the Huatian Palace, but their origins were terrifying.
“The Sinister Wind Sect battled fiercely with Zhang Poxiao back in the day. One of their Supreme Profundity level elders even died at the hands of Zhang Poxiao. This grudge is one of endless enmity; they will certainly not spare you. Also, the members of Sinister Wind Sect are relatively capable. They have at least two Supreme Profundity Realm Mighty Immortal cultivators.”
The Supreme Profundity Realm was the highest possible realm of cultivation within the Peng Lai Immortal Realm, as well as in the entire Source World. Cultivators who surpassed the Supreme Profundity realm could not remain in the Source World. For a sect to have at least two Supreme Profundity level Mighty Immortal cultivators, one could only imagine the extent of their influence.
“The Shattering Cloud Sect also formed a rather deep grudge against Zhang Poxiao back in the day. They previously sent out their own Supreme Profundity Realm Mighty Immortal cultivators to ambush Zhang Poxiao. They are not inferior to the sect of the Sinister Wind.
The Sword Valley cult and the Petrification Cult are two other sects that are not easy to deal with. They both have Supreme Profundity Realm Mighty Immortal Cultivators members. Among all of these large sects, the Sword Valley especially boasts the mightiest heritage. Its influence is beyond that of both the Sinister Wind Sect and the Petrification Cult. Additionally, they have a vested interest in the treasures of that senior of the Divine Illusionary Realm.”
Zhang Poxiao of the Divine Illusionary Realm was an expert swordsman. As the Sword Valley sect was mainly concerned with swordsmanship, they had already coveted the Sacred Fire Sword even back then. Unfortunately for them, senior Zhang Poxiao had not been a fool. Before he died, he had sent the Sacred Fire Sword out of the Peng Lai Immortal Realm without anyone being the wiser. If Mo Wen had not appeared, it was likely no one would have learned that the Sacred Fire Sword was actually in the main space.
“Supreme Profundity level cultivators?” Mo Wen frowned slightly. Even at his current cultivation level, he was still miles away from the Supreme Profundity Realm. Even Jade Xiu King and Ink Scaled King, who had managed cultivation up to the level of great attainment in the Tide Changing Realm, were most likely no match for a Supreme Profundity level cultivator.
The higher the realm one reached, the greater the differences in power there would be to a cultivator of the realm that preceded it. Although Jade Xiu King and Ink Scaled King, having reached the great attainment in the Tide Changing Realm, were considered rather fearsome personages, compared to those of the Supreme Profundity Realm, there was a significant power gap.
“You do not need to worry. After all, you are now a veteran of the Huatian Palace. They wouldn’t dare openly act against you. So long as you avoid them, or better still train within Huatian Palace headquarters. There, they cannot do anything to you,” Mo Qingge said.
If Mo Wen was willing to stay in the Huatian Palace headquarters, she could provide him with the best environment for cultivation. Once he reached a point where he could defend himself, he could venture out again.
However, was Mo Wen one who could abide by being under the protection of the Huatian Palace like a tortoise?
