Chapter 194 - Questioning
Nile stared at the man beside him.
"Answer my question and depending on the answer, I might spare your life." He said.
The man was visibly surprised. He nodded his head eagerly as he waited for the question that could allow him to live.
"First of all, what are the two factions those dead men talking about before? Tell me about them, the more detailed, the better."
From the start, he already decided to ask this one. He still didn't know that there are two factions in this town. According to the girls he met before, the town was dangerous because of the factions that resided there.
Not joining them would mean death. He felt that they were too overbearing. Regardless, as long as they didn't cross paths, he would not mind them acting overbearing around the town.
All he wanted was a peaceful zombie farming environment.
Hearing his question, the man had a hint of surprise written on his face again. However, a while later, he understood the situation. 'So that's why he didn't have any bandana on him. It looks like he just arrived here after all.'
Hence, the man decided to tell Nile everything he knew about the two factions.
"Actually, you can say that there are four factions around this town. Two are those with the base, they are called the Pink Surge Faction and the Blue Wave Faction, their base is located outside the town, east and west respectively. They are hostile with each other, and we don't know why."
"The third faction would be the hybrids. They are residing in the previous Town Hall. Basically, as long as it's not during the night, they won't be much of a problem. From time to time, their elders or the upper echelon would survey the town to try and poach members. And of course, if seen, the two factions would team up to kill any hybrids. For me, they are the scum of humanity."
"And fourth, it should be the zombie's faction. Well, they are not united but their individual strength is nothing to scoff at."
"Oh, if you consider, you can say that there's a fifth faction. It would be someone like us, those who didn't join the other factions and decided to act independently. Of course, our situation is terrible, the two factions would not help us and would even try to kill us if an opportunity arises…"
The man talked like there's no tomorrow. He spits out anything he knew about the town and its power structure.
After the man finished talking, his mouth was so dry that he already had trouble speaking.
Nile's closed his eyes and his mind processes what the man had said at an extreme speed. He didn't know how or why but he guesses that maybe it is because of his instant adapter talent.
From what the man had said, there are two known level three entities around the town. One was the hybrid's tribe leader and the other was a zombie.
According to the man, the two had fought a serious battle before, causing them to have injuries. If not for that, the man said that the town would be conquered by either of them.
Rumors had it that the two were only recuperating, after the two finished healing their wounds, they would instantly try and grasp the town.
Knowing that the two factions only had level two beings among them, Nile became less alert towards them. It's because he knew he won't have a problem dealing with them. He was confident that he could. Well, being ganged up is another problem, so he still preferred it if they won't cross paths.
The man also revealed how they could determine a faction depending on the color of bandana they were wearing. He also stated that the Pink Faction was the most arrogant of the bunch, they don't accept reason and would immediately attack if they deemed it as the right thing to do.
He also stated his doubt that it was strange that they hadn't seen any of the two factions today, it was strange, he said.
After half a minute, Nile opened his eyes. An obvious glint could be seen under it. Knowing that there are already level three beings, the danger he felt before was doubled instantly.
He felt the need to rush leveling up, but the instant adapter talent constantly reminded him about being rational. A slight mistake would cause him to stumble on those level three and it would be his end by then.
The level three hybrid was located at the center of the town, it was where the town hall was located. He was determined to never set foot on that place unless he already had the desired level to confront them of course.
As for the level three zombie, they have no ideas where it was recuperating. No one around the town knew. Nile took note of this and decided to take it slowly and surely, just like what the instant adapter talent was implying.
He let out a heavy breath to calm his wild heart. He then gazed at the man again.
"Alright, next question. Are they part of your group?" Nile said as he pointed at the six men in the distance.
The man looks at the six men a few meters away. He was hesitant, but ultimately, he nodded his head.
"Tell me about this group of yours." The Nile said calmly.
The man nodded his head as he started his story.
He said that the group was founded when the pink and blue faction started recruiting members a month ago. It was the time when the two level three beings had finished their fight.
That time, the two factions' upper echelon suddenly appeared out of nowhere, claiming that they could protect their lives from zombies, and along with some other promises.
There's a lot who joined and there were also a lot who decided not to join. Some of them left the town after knowing that they no longer have a place here while a part of them remained.
