Chapter 7: Face-Off With The Captain
Chapter 7: Face-Off With The Captain
Zhang's face almost drained completely of blood as he watched the captain arrive before them, her murderous eyes staring seriously at Hael, who looked back at her with his blank eyes.
Yet in those eyes, Aelia sensed pride, leaning towards a natural sense of disdain. Like a god staring down on a mortal, and she could tell that to the young man before him, that sense of pride wasn't pretended or conscious.
It was like a natural eye gaze from Hael, which could see not a single sign of fear at all, unlike everyone else in the room who knew her well.
And one thing made its way into her mind as she looked at Hael:
"Either he has lost his memory or had a backup plan that he thought wouldn't make him crush one of his balls to paste..."
"Firstly, Kid. I am everything in here. It is my spaceship, my crew, and therefore my law. If the Timer says you're an hour early and I said you're two hours late, my word is final..." Aelia said, the blast of hair ruffling Hael's hair.
Suddenly...
SNORT
The sound of a cold disdainful snort rang out from Hael's mouth as he shook his head at her.
"And they made you the Captain of this crew. Your unreasonable words are law, and the reasonable timer is wrong. How very typical of the leadership which never lasts long at all..." Hael said while arranging back his ruffled hair as Aelia's face changed massively.
""Are you trying to say I'm not qualified to lead this crew!?" Aelia roared out loud and Hael calmly replied.
"Based on your ideology, yes, you aren't..."
The pressure in the room had reached a thickening level and everyone held their breath, waiting for that familiar sound of either the skull getting bashed in or the balls exploding with a peng.
Yet,
"Hahahahahaha..." The sound of laughter was from none other than Aelia who folded both her hands on her chest and laughed, before slowly stretching out her hands, landing on Hael's shoulder.
"Do you know Section 7 of the 7 laws of Crew Leadership?" Aelia asked...
"No, I don't..." Hael answered, suddenly feeling an intense burn on his shoulder which was being held by Aelia.
"Well, it says that anyone can challenge the captain to a leadership battle once every six months. It usually takes a lot of paperwork and arrangement, but lucky you, I would be giving you that chance right now. If you think I'm unworthy of my position, no problem, then take it from me..." Aelia said as she squeezed tightly, the sound of quivering bone ringing out as the feeling of intense burning filled every fiber of Hael's being.
Yet, he had not a single visible change in his expression.
He had just been burnt alive just a few minutes ago. A small burning to his shoulder didn't even tingle him.
Ignoring Aelia, he turned to his shoulder, seeing that there was a strange circular metallic opening on Aelia's palm which was currently the source of the burning feeling, then he directed his attention back to Aelia who smiled sinisterly at him.
"You know, I was rushed to get into a suit, by you, and forced to run all the way here, by you. Then had to quickly pick up a weapon without a hundred percent consideration, also by you, and had to run with all of my remaining energy into this hall, by you. If you had the time to fight a crew member and exert your dominance, then why all the earlier screams of rush? It seems to me like you have all the time in the world. Are you really that bored and in need of entertainment, Captain...?" Hael called out, as the sound of an intense ringing rang out from Aelia's pockets and she turned to look at it, her eyebrows furrowing a little before turning to look at Hael with a murderous smile.
"I just pray you don't die in this war..." She said as Hael smirked.
"Thanks for worrying, Captain, but I'll be more than okay..." Hael replied as he suddenly felt a hard force on his shoulder and he was sent retreating back five steps before he forcefully skidded to a stop.
"Tch, we'll see about that...." Aelia said as she turned back and walked towards the dais.
"Get up..." Hael said to Zhang who slowly rose to her feet, his face still in shock with how Hael was able to confront the Captain, who had the permission to gravely injure each of them and could do so effortlessly, due to the uncrossable gap difference.
They had all survived to this day by obeying two laws.
"Avoid the Captain at all costs, or never say more than Yes Or No in front of her..."
But Hael just broke that law...
"HMMM, HMMM..." The sound of the voice getting warmed up brought all of them out of it as they all focused their attention back to Aelia.
"It is time to give you all what our Mission is against the Current war that is happening with the Eldritch in Sector X."
"We have been assigned a silent Death Mission to an Eldritch Settlement that has been discovered in Sector X, consisting of an estimate of 300 Eldritch creatures..."
