Chapter 25: Conversation During Dinner...
Chapter 25: Conversation During Dinner...
"Tell me, what era did you really come from? Is your sector really that backwater?" Captain Aelia asked as she threw a fork down on Hael's head.
He quickly caught it, then she pointed to the 'flaming pot', signaling for Hael to put it on it.
Like a robot, Hael threw the fork on the flaming pot, but instead of it falling down, he watched something amazing as the fork simply stood in space before slowly floating upwards.
And once it reached Captain Aelia's height, she stretched out her hand and picked it up.
"WOW!" Hael looked at the pot, his eyes shining in amazement. Never in his life had he seen something that could make something float, except sometimes when his old brothers and some royals used their magic.
"Blown away, bumpkin?" She asked, but Hael paid no attention to her mockery, instead walking towards the table.
After convincing himself he wouldn't die to a simple fall, he jumped on it and in the next second, felt the feeling of weight completely disappear as he was lifted up higher and higher, right to the mouth of the steps present in the suspended platform.
With a single step forward, he landed directly on the steps, his eyes still inching from what just occurred.
"Tell me, what type of magic is that?" Hael asked in shock.
"It's called the Anti-gravity Teleporter. Quite the piece of tech, right?" Captain Aelia said proudly as Hael gave a nod and walked to the seat opposite the long dining table. Only then did he discover a shocking truth.
The platform they were currently on had nothing holding it up from above!
"What the!? We're sitting on a suspended platform, held by nothing?"
"There is nothing to worry about; there's another Anti-gravity suspender just below this platform that currently suspends it in the air. You couldn't feel it because it only works on inanimate objects..." Captain Aelia said as Hael turned his attention away from her and looked directly at the table.
And unknowingly to himself, a long line of spittle drained down his lips as he looked at the nicely cooked array of foods present on the table.
*RUUUUUUUUMBLE*
The sound of his stomach rumbling could be heard as Hael's head grew red like a tomato, very uncouth for a prince like him.
"Seems you truly haven't fused with your first core..." She said with conviction as Hael closed his eyes, remaining silent for ten seconds, much to Captain Aelia's surprise as she watched Hael's mouth moving erratically, but soon it stopped as he snapped his eyes open and immediately picked up the fork, diving into the food like a beast.
"Oh? You pray before you eat? Never thought you were quite the religious guy..." Captain Aelia said as Hael slowed himself down a little.
"There's nothing religious about it; it is a must to pray to the moon petals before eating. So we don't accidentally get a bone stuck in your throat and die a stupid death..." Hael said seriously before immediately continuing his diving.
Unlike him, Captain Aelia ate one at a time, not at all worried even as the food on the plate quickly disappeared...
She kept tapping on this strange, wide rectangular device that illuminated her face in its bluish light, and Hael could see her expression deteriorating with every tap, her eyes greatly furrowed and shining in focus.
"Huuuuuuu," he exhaled loudly as he looked at the table, and right now, 80% had already been wiped clean by him. Reaching for the side, he tried searching for that thing but found nothing.
"And where is the tissue?" Hael asked as Captain Aelia raised her head up and turned to look at him.
An eyebrow was raised, looking at the table, which had almost been wiped clean as her eyes involuntarily moved to Hael's stomach, which was now like a pregnant lady's.
"Tsk, tsk, you really do have a well in your tummy. And also, I don't think village boys use tissues, do they..."
"I am not a village boy..."
"Really, just wipe it off your mouth with the back of your hand. That's how I remember it's always done, by village boys..." Captain Aelia said as she moved her hands to the side and grabbed a tissue, which was placed on her side of the table, carefully wiping her mouth while snickering at him.
"Hmmmmm," Normally a prince, he had always had to eat with a tissue, but he could still wipe with his hands if there was none.
But now, he couldn't; he could see his wicked Captain was just trying to ridicule him, taking away the tissue from him. He couldn't let her have her way.
And in the next second, a thought appeared in his head as Hael grabbed the T-shirt and wiped his mouth with the clothes, an evil grin on his face as he does so...
And this time, he could see Captain Aelia's smile rapidly drop as a vein popped on her forehead.
"You... How dare you! With my brother's cloth!!!" She roared out like a beast as a sad expression appeared on Hael's face.
"Oh, it's your brother's cloth, I didn't know that; I thought it's mine. Really sorry, to be honest, but you know it wouldn't have occurred if you had just given me the tissue. It's fully your fault..." Hael said as Captain Aelia's vein doubled, and she looked about to grab an apple and fling it at his head, but she soon snorted coldly and chose to ignore, turning her attention back to him.
Her expression rapidly changing once more, and that greatly piqued Hael's curiosity.
"Is something wrong somewhere?" Hael asked with a raised eyebrow as Captain Aelia turned the screen to him.
Looking at the picture and reading the note beneath it, even Hael himself had his face rapidly dropping.
"Wow, guess things won't be really peaceful any longer in that sector..." He said as Captain Aelia heaved loudly before opening her mouth to explain the cause of the new problem...
