Chapter 30: Blue Moon City
Chapter 30: Blue Moon City
Following the beast tide, William became famous among the convoy. The nobles nor any of the Cultivators dared to disrespect him anymore. He enjoyed many benefits such as being allowed to freely roam the convoy, and the nobleman even invited William to eat a steak dinner. How could Will refuse that? The steak was the most delicious thing he had tasted since entering this world.
Torc was losing his mind. He knew William was stronger than he appeared based on how he dealt with Ray, but he didn't expect this outcome. He probably felt forced to reveal his strength to prevent casualties. That's quite an honorable act for someone his age...
Torc's respect for William grew, but so did his worry. Having lived more than thirty years, Torc knew not everyone would appreciate William's talent. There were probably many jealous Adventurers in their group.
William reminded Torc of his younger brother. When Torc's brother was 23 many years ago, Torc watched him die by the hands of bandits that were hired by a jealous young noble. Torc's brother was a very talented man, who was a Light Manamatus at the age of 15.
I'll have to keep a more watchful eye out. The kid needs to survive.

William fought alongside the other Cultivators to gain more experience over the next few days. The Magical Beast attacks dwindled as the group approached Blue Moon City, but William still reached 237 Potential Points by the time they arrived.
Fighting with other Cultivators is so much more profitable, but it's also quite risky. William thought. Some of the Cultivators who showed admiration before seemed to be a bit jealous of the treatment William received from the nobleman. He wasn't worried about someone trying to hurt him in the open, but William wasn't confident in surviving an assassination.
He spent the last day of the trip at the middle of the convoy with Torc, since there probably wouldn't be any more Magical Beast attacks.
William took a short rest. When his eyes opened, the first thing he noticed was a sprawling City with many buildings over a hundred stories tall. The City was surrounded by a circular wall 50 meters tall and 5 meters thick, making it difficult to see what was going on inside. There were guard towers evenly spaced on the wall, each fitted with a magic ballistae.
Above the City, William could see many Cultivators in a mix of traditional or modern outfits flying on swords or just hovering in the air. Some were flying in circles or figure-eights while others traveled at high speeds to other parts of the City.
Even in William's old world, he had rarely visited a City of this scale. William estimated the population to be in the millions, but with the help of the Space Element, perhaps the city was even larger.
The convoy arrived at the City entrance and the guards checked the nobleman's documents. They inspected all of the wagons, then conducted background checks on each Adventurer entering the city.
-Entered Blue Moon City: +5 Potential Points
Once they were cleared, the nobleman spoke up, "Thank you all for escorting our goods. Please visit the Guild Hall located here to pick up your Quest rewards.
Oh and Mister William, we have another trip scheduled to your village in three months if you would like to accompany us." the nobleman performed a light bow that was a completely different attitude from before.
The other Adventurers looked at William and shook their heads. If only they were as talented as William, then maybe they would receive such good treatment.
"Thank you Sir, I will be sure to consider joining you again next time." William responded with a bow of his own. He didn't really like it, but the nobleman might have ways to make him even more money. That was an offer too good to pass up.
William joined the Cultivators that were going to the Guild Hall since he didn't know the way. He admired the luxurious buildings on each side of the paved road that seemed to be out of another age. There were no vehicles or bicycles, so William assumed the road was purely aesthetic.
Even the Guild Hall was much nicer. There was a line behind the main entrance, and when the group reached the inside, they were greeted by a Hall of similar style to Thin Creek Village, but on a scale a hundred times the size.
There were two identical Quest boards, one on each side of the receptionist counter. Behind the counter were two stunningly beautiful ladies with brown hair and light green eyes. They looked at each Adventurer with a sweet smile that would melt anyone's heart. Even angry Adventurers would have nothing left to say after exchanging a few words with the receptionists.
The Adventurers of William's group turned in their Quest one-by-one and received their rewards.
-Completed a Quest: +3 Potential Points
While the receptionist was handling his Quest rewards, William asked, "Do you know where I can find Array Master Fowley?"
"Array Master Fowley?" the first receptionist, Sara, was a bit surprised. "He should actually be upstairs right now in a meeting with the Guild Master. Do you need anything from him?" she smiled.
"Yes, actually I needed to talk to him about something. Is it okay if I wait here for him?" William asked.
"Sure, but I can't guarantee he will agree to meet you. Here are your Quest rewards." Sara handed William twenty Gold Coins.
William thanked Sara and looked around the Guild Hall for a few minutes. He noticed the Quest board had more options than in Thin Creek Village. Among a few dozen quests, three of which stood out to William.
3* [Gather: 1 Seven-Colored Lily]
4* [Slay: 10 Redwood Orcs]
6* [Slay: Nascent Soul Lightning Drake]
The Lightning Drake Quest is here too, and the reward is 5 thousand Gold Coins. Too bad I'm not strong enough, I would be rich!
The other quests seemed more down to William's level. The Escort Quest previously assigned to Will was also 3-Star Difficulty and didn't push him too hard after all his upgrades.
He watched a few duels in the Arena while waiting for Array Master Fowley. To see the figures clearly, William had to cheat using Life Sense. William's perception had improved quite a bit since he gained the Life Element, but was still lacking when just using his eyes.
Someone approached from the side, "Hey kid, are you trying to duel?"
William looked over to see a girl with long blue hair wearing modern-style athletic clothing. She looked to be somewhere between 20 and 25, yet she still called him a kid.
He was a bit surprised with the clothing choice, as traditional clothing was common in this region of the city. "No, sorry I'm waiting for someone and just watching. Maybe some other time."
The girl frowned. It really looked like he enjoyed fighting though..maybe I used the wrong approach.
"Oh it's okay if you don't want to fight, my name is Novea. Do you want to go somewhere else and find something to eat with me?"
"Huh? I just told you I'm waiting for someone."
Novea realized her mistake, which made her lose reputation with William. She decided it was best to give up for now. "Okay, sorry! I hope to see you again Mr. William!" she flashed a smile, then walked off mumbling, "Damn NPCs..."
