Infinite Potential System

Chapter 160: Tower Token

A smack in the face awoke William from his stupor, the Artifact Spirit glaring at him angrily with a still raised hand.

"Are you listening at all?"

William replayed the scenes in his memories, recalling everything the Artifact Spirit had said in the last few seconds. "Uhh, yes Sir."

"As I was saying. Congratulations, you are the first to clear the entire trial tower. Contained in that box I just gave you is not only a few treasures, but also the token of authority for the tower itself. Of course, you can't do much with it as it is, but once you have become Master's Disciple your options will open up."

William looked at the gold box in his hands, still thinking about the massive amount of Potential Points he just received, "You said I can take out Flame Dragon Uri?"

"Yes, just imprint the token with your blood and speak in your mind what you want to do. If you don't have permission to do something, the token will naturally tell you." the Artifact Spirit explained.

William understood. The idea was quite simple so even an idiot like him could understand.

He thought of something else, "What about leaving this tower? I'm sure I've made quite a few enemies during my climb."

"Ah yes, you've made quite a few." the Spirit nodded. "There is a function to teleport you out of the trial tower, but you would go straight to the courtyard."

William frowned at these words. It was obvious that anyone who wanted to kill him would be waiting inside the courtyard.

"Can't you add a function to it? You're a powerful Artifact Spirit, you should at least be able to do this."

"I can do many things, but only Master can edit the functions of that token and a few others." he shook his head. "If it were for one of the lower-ranked trials, there would be no problem."

The Artifact Spirit's eyes lit up for a second, "There is another thing you can do though."

"What's that?"

"There should be a surveillance function on the token, so you can view the situation outside."

William knew what the Artifact Spirit was getting at. He should be able to at least escape unscathed against a group of Cultivators if he knew what they were planning.

He opened the gold box, a brilliant light spreading throughout the room of many different colors. His System Panel flooded with notifications once again as fifteen items appeared, but William stored everything immediately except the token of authority, focusing on the total Potential Points and the single item for now.

He could inspect each item one at a time, but William opted to do so in the future when he needed to recover. For now, he wanted to make the best use of his time until he was kicked out of the Gravitas Ruins.

-Acquired Gravitas Ruins Tower Token: +100 PP

-Acquired (14) other rewards: +11650 PP

Another wave of Potential Points stunned William for a brief moment, but he quickly shook it off and spoke in his mind after dripping some blood on the Tower Token.

Check the situation on the outside of the tower.

As promised, an image formed in William's mind, even moving around in real-time as he watched thousands of Cultivators milling about. He couldn't hear what they were saying, but he could tell they were ready for battle.

The surveillance function could even identify the use of a few Arrays, and a few vats of green liquid that were hovering directly over the exit point of the trial tower. William recognized this liquid immediately to be the corrosive fluid that nearly melted his skin off on the early floors of the trial tower.

Those bastards! William thought. He saw a few people present that had problems with him before, including the battleaxe-wielding man that tried to take his Star Ore. After clearing the trial tower, a piece of Star Ore didn't mean much anymore, but William would still fight to the death over one.

He watched the situation for a few minutes more until he had a complete grasp of the situation. There were a few things that William expected the Tower Token couldn't see, but overall, it was an impressive treasure that was quite useful.

William willed Flame Dragon Uri to be taken to the top floor of the trial tower with him, and the creature appeared immediately.

Upon noticing he was in a new environment, Uri immediately understood what was going on. He shrunk his form down to become a dragon only a few meters long, then approached William with slow steps and an expression that almost seemed like a smile.

"So it seems you've succeeded. I didn't expect to see you again so soon." the dragon spoke in its usual booming voice.

William smiled at the dragon's more respectful attitude, "I have. I hope you don't mind that I killed the Forest Dragon earlier."

"Oh, I don't mind. She wasn't a real creature. The real one died over a thousand years ago of natural causes."

William knew this of course, but he couldn't help but feel a bit guilty talking about this in front of a dragon. He simply nodded his head, "I'm sure you know why I've summoned you to this floor."

Flame Dragon Uri bowed his head to the floor, "I am willing to follow you as promised. It's been a while since I saw the outside world."

William nodded again.

System, can I add Flame Dragon Uri to my list of Companion Beasts?

-Host's strength is too low. Improve your strength to at least the Soul Formation Realm first.

As expected...

William remembered this restriction from before, but he still wanted to try out the effects. He had at least filled out half of the criteria, which required the Magical Beast to be willing to accept a contract.

The Soul Formation Realm might seem somewhat far, but William had just earned over twenty thousand Potential Points. He couldn't be too far away from the Soul Formation Realm, right?

Either way, the Flame Dragon wouldn't disobey his orders as long as he had the Tower Token in his grasp. Uri didn't seem to be the kind of Magical Beast to betray its Master anyway, even if it was now following someone new.

William stored the Gravitas Ruins Tower Token in his Space Ring, then retreived the Mana Gathering Staff and replaced the Sword of Shifting Sands with the Mythical Array Wheel. He didn't see himself using the Earth Element a ton, nor did he plan to fight a thousand Cultivators in close-range battle.

"Uri, don't follow me outside immediately."

"Yes Master."

"Do you want to know why?" William currently had a wide grin on his face, which made Flame Dragon Uri nervous for some reason. It was crazy to think that a Soul Formation Realm Dragon was nervous because of a young man with little to no Cultivation, but that was the truth.

"Why is that Master?"

"There's over three thousand Cultivators outside. It would be a shame if you scared them off when I have a Mana Gathering Staff to unlock." William's grin transformed into a vicious smile that made the Dragon wonder if he was a human or actually a Greater Demon in human skin.
