Chapter 40 Family Reunion
Opening his eyes, Allen looked at the state of the room. It was clean, not a speck of dust was seen. All the stuff was neatly arranged.
Allen stood, and stretched his body.
As he looked at the calendar, his eyes nearly popped.
"Damn, only day left before the tournament!... Oh, today, my parents will also come here, need to get ready."
Saying that he looked at his clothes.
As he saw the state of his clothes, he wanted to tear them. He slapped his head with his hand and sighed.
Tattered, dirty, smelly... All of his sweat accumulated in the clothing made it smell so bad. Also, many holes were formed in the clothes.
"This clothe is good for ventilation, at least."
Sighing, he first took off his clothes. The clothing was heavy as all of his sweat, and dirt was carried by it.
Afterward, he looked at his body. Not that dirty, but he smelled like shit.
He walked to the bathroom, fortunately, the room had one, so he didn't surprise others with the smell of his body.
He doesn't want to get cursed at again.
"Hmm, so good."
Feeling the coldness of the water, Allen nearly melted down. It had been days since he last showered. After bathing for two hours straight, he changed his clothes.
He looked at the mirror and talked to himself. "Not that bad, at least I am somewhat handsome."
He left the building. While he was leaving, many staring and gasping were heard in the hallways. The employee mainly the cleaning staff gave a weird stare at Allen and whispered among themself.
Allen lowered his head and wanted to cry but held off his tear before marching down the street. The hustling and bustling of people didn't surprise Allen, he casually passed by them. Although he felt suffocated, he was now refreshed, and was easier.
He wanted to fly but held off his urge again.
At the food stall, he bought Fried Stick Potatoes, potatoes that were fried put on a stick, and sold.
"Umm, so delicious."
The fries were delicious, he finished them in some minute. He reached near the gate where many carriages were parked.
Taking a carriage into the city was prohibited, only some special guests including mage academy had permitted.
On the horde of carriages, many noises were drifting. People coming out from these carriages were full of energy, and many smiles and laughing could be heard.
They all anticipated the tournament, some may have their family members in the tournament, while some only wanted to watch it.
In these people, a waving hand came to Allen's view.
"Brother!"
Riya called to Allen smiling cheerfully. Behind her, two kids also exclaimed. "Brother!!!" They had tears in their eyes, and they rushed at Allen.
They hugged Allen.
Allen's parents walked slowly and smiled at the reunion of the brother. Riya also flew at Allen and increased the burden.
Three kids hugged Allen. Allen didn't know whether to laugh or cry but patted all of their head with a troubled smile. But he was relieved.
"Ok guys, let me off. It's so hot."
"NO"
Three of them replied at the same time.
"Ha"
Two parents laughed and felt happy to see this heartwarming scene.
"By the way, what class did u guys get?"
Allen asked.
"I got warrior..."
"I got soldier..."
Two of them were pretty depressed. They had the dream of becoming mages.
"Don't worry." Allen patted their head. "You guys can become strong with this class too."
Allen tried to cheer them.
"But, we can't follow you..."
"Well, you guys can become strong and protect me in the future," Allen said cheerfully. "Let's go, and eat delicious food!"
"Ok!"
Riya was the first one to shout. "I am too hungry." She complained. "Me too" "Me too!" Two kids followed.
"Ok, ok."
Allen somehow fend off these clingy kids and walked toward his parents.
"You sure are loved, son." His father showed a thumbs-up with a grin.
"Yeah yeah, How have you guys been?" Allen asked.
"I am too good, living finely."
"Oh, don't listen to his nonsense. He is always worrying about you. He always asked if you are fine or not."
"Y-you don't need to tell him that." Allen's father blushed slightly but smiled. "You also always complain about his health and if he is eating healthy food or not."
"I am his mother, so of course, I will worry."
"I am also his father, so I also worry about him."
"Ok. guys, enough. You are embarrassing me here. Let's all have a good meal."
The family mixed with the crowd of people on street. They sat in a fine restaurant and ate the food there.
Chatting, laughing, and smiling, the family spend their time. Seeing this, Allen nearly dropped a tear from his eyes.
It is so happy to have a family.
He said inwardly and smiled softly.
Not long after, they walked to the Mega Huge Inn. Seeing the huge inn like a mansion, the kids exclaimed and shouted in joy.
"Shh, you guys will disturb others."
Allen warned.
"Ok"
The kids calmed down.
Allen guided them to their room and they all rested.
